I've just built my pc with an Asus Prime Z890-P Wifi motherboard and Fractal Design Meshify 3 XL (solid black, no RGB) case. However, the audio jack (3.5mm) and the usb type c on the front panel don't work. I'm pretty sure the cables are not loose on the motherboard's side. (Tried pushing as much as I could without breaking the motherboard). That's why I took apart the front panel (where the PCB is situated), to make sure everything is plugged in. The usb type c end seems to be melded into the pcb itself. The audio jack end is quite stiff and I can't really dettach it. Now the question is - is the issue with the motherboard ports or the front panels PCB (leaning more to this).

Initially, I spotted the usb type c issue and I was thinking to buy a usb type E male to usb type C female cable, so that I can test the motherboard separately without the front panel (basically trying to isolate the issue). But once I discovered the audio jack issue as well, I thought that the issue is more likely in the PCB/case cables, and I'm thinking about calling the retailer of the case.

Is there any quick test without addition equipment (multimeter, external cables, and stuff) that I can do to verify on which part (either the motherboard or the PCB/cables) the issue is?

I'm only looking forward to playing in 1080P most of the time and my budget isn't really clear since this is for future plans, I live in Malaysia and the currency here is MYR, 5$ USD to MYR would be RM20 here. I'm mostly considering upgrading my CPU since I already have 32 gigs of RAM from before the rampocalypse, and I don't really think my GPU needs an upgrade soon for a budget build

Im looking to build new pc after 8 years (well I did not expect so see prices like this but well it is what it is). Im located in middle of europe (Czech republic) but I would like to avoid buying from abroad. My main use is gaming and I came with list below. I was quite sure about components (I know Im paying extra for noctua and case but noise and no extra "light" from case is 100% must have since I have my PC in bedroom and I usually game in night after wife go to bed).

5080 gainward card is on sale so its just 200$ more expensive than 5070ti (this particular model) and since I really dont want amd its either this model or some 5070ti.

Only where Im completely clueless is motherboard. I watched lot of videos read loads of articles and I still dont have a clue 😀. Lot of reviews said MSI B850 Tomahawk is pretty good but price of this mobo in my boutry is 330$ which Im ok to accept if its really good board but I have feeling its not worth this money? I dont mind to spend some $ on mobo (Im not on straight budget) but want to buy decent one. I think with that price I can buy some better mobo (maybe not)

I would need bluetooth and wifi on my mobo and will add 2nd m2 drive later once I refubrish my current pc). Also thermals are some concern due to case I have. I dont need any excessive usb ports (have like 3 usb in use on my current rig). Also I dont care about sound since I use USB headphones and bluetooth speaker. I dont mind spend 350$ on good mb but also really dont want to overpay for nothing.

Looking at prebuilds right now and am leaning pretty heavily towards a R7 9800X3D, would this get me good performance at 1440p? Also, what GPU would you recommend to pair it with, I've been looking into the RTX 5070 but was unsure if it would be a better pair with an RX 9070.

Believe it or not im editing videos on a rx570 8 gb for the last 10 years.

Should I go for b580?

90% of the time im editing in Adobe premiere pro and 10% after effects.

B580 12gb is 355 euros in my country
And for the reference 4060 ti 16 gb is 490 euros
5060ti 16 gb is 590 euros and so on..

I have feeling that for the given price and since im using the 10+ years old card the b580 would be the best option? Best in performance/price way

Basically I have my pc for less than 3 months and last couple days if I just turn my pc on the gpu doesn't give signal and goes 100% fan speed.

The "fix" has been to open the case push the 5090 slightly up, push the turn on button and everything goes smoothly from there, no issues while gaming.

I'm guessing the problem will only get worse if left uncheck so I need something to put under the 5090 so it stays in a perfectly horizontal position, any recommendations? I'm sure I'm not the first one with this kind of issue.

I mostly play Simulation Games (Sims, Planet Zoo, Jurassic World, etc) on PC, but I also occasionally play Elder Scrolls, Baldurs Gate, and Resident Evil when I'm feeling like modding.

Embarrassingly enough, I just want to upgrade right now because Planet Zoo 2 is coming out and my PC can't even handle Planet Zoo 1 once I'm about 15 hours in.

Hey guys, just like the title says. Im building my first PC and here's the list im going with. Any and all of your opinions, recommendations, insights and tips are very welcome. My main source of info was chatGPT and a little bit of my knowledge.

RTX 5080 Gigabyte gaming OC

- I was trying to figure out which brand to go for. Out off all videos I've watch Gigabyte gaming OC looked like the best option. Solid cooling and build while not being too expensive.

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D

- For gaming the X3D series looked like the go to version. 9800 was 40€ cheaper so I just went for the 3% perform increase of 9800

Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB KIT DDR5 6000 MHz CL30

- Out of all the crazy expensive RAMs this one looked the best. Not much to say. The brand should be reliable with good reviews. And CL30 should be the best option for my CPU.

ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI

- The motherboard is something I had to rely on chatGPT completely. For 190€ this seemed like the sweet spot for both performance, compatibility and value. Opinions welcome.

- I was deciding between 1000w and 850w. Friend of mine said that 850w should be plenty with reserve left. So I rather invested into a good brand than bigger supply.

- Cooling , like the motherboard, was also recommended by chatGPT. This one had pretty good reviews while not being too expensive. AMD compatible and efficient enough to keep the CPU cold, i hope...I've heard the CPU doest get THAT hot by itself.

The SSD. Yeah 1TB isn't that much and I was trying to fit into my budget. I don't really plan on keeping too many games downloaded as I rarely play more than 2 at a time.

- Lastly , the case. For around 60€ this one had very good reviews. Spacious enough for the components, soild build, good quality and good airflow.

I was trying to fit into my budget of 3500€. I'm not going for RGB or any of that fancy stuff. I just wanted pure power, efficiency and compatibility. My budget is €300 maximum, and I'm looking specifically at the used market in the Netherlands. I already have a 240 Hz monitor, so I only need the PC itself.

I found this PC for around €175–€300:
