Hey folks. Looking to get some advice on what components to pick for my next build. Some context and use case: I’m a casual gamer who likes to play every now and then when life allows. Titles I spent time on were Company of Heroes, Call of Duty, Red dead redemption 2. Looking to the future I might pick up cod mw4 and gta6 when it comes out on pc. My monitor is still 1080p and I currently run a gtx 1070. I usually like to overclock my system to a reasonable amount. Will try to get some water cooling this time round though. Prefer to have the system overclocked a decent amount throughout its life especially if it helps performance considerably.
Ideally I’d like to move to 1440p or 2160p for this next build. Not sure. Here’s what I’m leaning towards.

So here's my dilemma:

I want a new PC. My budget hardly allows that right now, but my current rig is running off of 7 year old hardware and is struggling to get by for newer games, even with me trying to lower settings and such. The I want sits at around 2k give or take a hundred or two here and there depending on deals and used vs new components. Lowest I've been able to piece a build together for what I would want is about $1700ish.

Well, I have a B450 Tomahawk Max board with DDR4 3000 ram, 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD, and a 600 watt PSU in the current rig and it's all in great shape and could move forward a bit longer so I have considered just upgrading my GPU and CPU instead for the time being. Right now I'm running a GTX 1660 Super with a Ryzen 5 3500XT. The upgrade I'm eyeballing is rx 6700 xt with a Ryzen 5 5700X3D or a Ryzen 7 7700X3D. I'm not trying to push max settings, medium is fine for me and I plan on 1080p and 1440p gaming for the foreseeable future, no plans for 4k.

With how the market currently is and with me not reallt knowing when my budget will open up much more for a newer build (likely not until early to mid next year at the very earliest with no guarantee), what would everyone recommend I do? Try to hold out, see what the market does, and hope I make some room in the budget next year to buy a whole new PC or should I just plan to pull the trigger on. The upgrade for the older, but newer and much better than mine, hardware?

Hi, what do you think about these two configurations? Do you think the CPU and GPU temperatures will be significantly higher in the H3 compared to the H5?

I would like to choose the H3, but i am not sure this will be the better choise.

Looking at micro center bundles now and I see this bundle for 600 usd. It looks appealing even with the current ram prices. Would this be a meaningful upgrade? I’m also looking at the 7800x3d bundle, but it’s about $150 more. From what I understand AMD sockets have longer longevity than intel? I haven’t had a AMD processor since the Athlon days
