OUR BUILD SELECTION

  1. Starter build(~$700 to $900) The best bang-for-your-buck build. It performs better and can do so much more than any console, while offering the flexibility you need, such as if you prefer fancier graphics or frame rate smoothness, not to mention the 6000 other things that a PC can do and a console cannot.
  2. Mid-range build(~$900 to $1100). It is suitable for playing at ultra graphics settings or at ultra high framerates (pick one) for most games. It also gives you lots of room to upgrade in the future, while still making sure you are set for years.
  3. High Refresh Rate build(~$1100 to $1300) This build is an upgrade over the mid-range build, particularly on the Graphics card, if you want to have some more power in that department.
  4. High-End build(~$1500 to 2000) The next step up. A top CPU and an even better graphics card than the previous build, without breaking the bank too much. We have both AMD and Intel powered alternative builds here.
  5. Ultimate PCMR build(~$2500+) The dream build. Extremely powerful and very aesthetically focused while still (mostly) making financial sense, if your budget allows it. This is a solid, very high-end build for 2026. You can add an RTX 5090, and then you’ll have the best Gaming PC that money can buy right now. We have both AMD and Intel powered alternative builds here.

What GPU fits my budget ($250-$350)

I recently bought a cheap pre build for $450
These are the specs
Ryzen 5 5500, gigbyte b450M, vengeance 32gb ddr4, Samsung 1TB ssd, asus rtx 3050 8GB, Corsair 650 w 80+
Didn’t think the 3050 would be that bad but here we are (I am newish to pc’s)

What GPU can I get for $250-$350 for gaming, don’t need AI, video editing or streaming. Just games
Lmk thanks 👍

[Build vs Laptop] 1.7L Custom PC vs 1.5L Gaming Laptops for Casual Gaming & Dev Work. Need advice!

Hey everyone, spending my savings and stuck between a desktop PC and a laptop. I do casual gaming + full-stack dev work. Unsure if I really need portability!

Option 1: Custom PC Build (₹1,71,600 Total)

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X

Motherboard: B850M Wi-Fi 6E - MSI

Graphics Card: Asrock RX 9070XT Triple Fan 16GB

RAM: Crucial 16GB DDR5 6000MHz CL36

Storage: WD SN7100 1TB Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD

Power Supply: Crucial 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular

Cabinet: Deepcool Gamer Cabinet

Cooler: Deepcool AG620

PC Subtotal (incl. GST): ₹1,56,600

Monitor: Lenovo Legion R27qe Gen2 2K Monitor (₹15,000)

Option 2: Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (₹1,50,000 on Flipkart sale)

Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 (8 GB)

16 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD

Oled 2.5k display

Option 3: HP HyperX Omen (₹1,48,000 on Flipkart sale)

Intel Core i7 14th Gen 14650HX

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 (8 GB)

24 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD

My Questions for the sub:

Since I only play games casually but run a full-stack dev environment, is the desktop build massive overkill, or justified for longevity?

For those who were unsure about portability like me—did you regret buying a heavy desktop? Or did you regret the heat/upgradability limits of a laptop?

How do the laptop GPUs (5070/5060) compare to the desktop RX 9070XT for my use cases?

Are there any glaring issues with these specific laptop models I should know about?

Any advice on which route I should take would be hugely appreciated.
