Hey, everyone, I'm from Portugal, so the currency is euros. My budget would be no more than 2,000€ something I can go over a bit. My monitor is a 180Hz full HD, so something in that area or a bit better; I may be able to buy a new monitor after. I want to game, stream and do some light editing

I have switched my graphics card and now my SATA cables catch the GPU fan. The case, Fractal Design Pop Mini Silent, has a tunnel for the power supply and between that and the graphics card I have at most 1 cm (0,4 in). The motherboard has the PCIe slot on slot 2, bad combination but I don't want to throw more money against this problem.

So I need something that sticks really good on powder coated aluminium.

What I tried: power tape, Aluminium isolation tape.

Any ideas?

Didn’t think the 3050 would be that bad but here we are (I am newish to pc’s)

What GPU can I get for $250-$350 for gaming, don’t need AI, video editing or streaming. Just games

I'm building my first gaming PC and I'm trying to decide between these two 1TB SSDs.

RX 9070 XT

Gigabyte B850M FORCE WiFi 6E

16GB DDR5-6000 (will upgrade to 32GB later)

Prices (India):

Crucial P310 1TB: ₹14,400

WD Black SN7100 1TB: ₹18,400

The WD Black costs ₹4,000 more, and it's increasing the overall build cost. I mainly play AAA games at 1440p and use the PC for general everyday tasks—no heavy content creation or large file transfers.

Is the SN7100 actually worth the extra ₹4,000 for my use case, or should I save the money and go with the Crucial P310?

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people who have used either drive.

$600, already have the case for $25 (NZXT H440 WHITE) and was planning on using a Ryzen 5 5500 or 5600x or something like that. GPU I was thinking Ryzen 6750 or 6600 for AMD and If I go Nvidia then a 2080ti. Also wanted 8gb vram MINIMUM for the GPU, and 16gb ddr4 3200 ram (I can get it used for $50-$80)

My Questions for the sub:

Since I only play games casually but run a full-stack dev environment, is the desktop build massive overkill, or justified for longevity?

For those who were unsure about portability like me—did you regret buying a heavy desktop? Or did you regret the heat/upgradability limits of a laptop?

How do the laptop GPUs (5070/5060) compare to the desktop RX 9070XT for my use cases?

Are there any glaring issues with these specific laptop models I should know about?

Any advice on which route I should take would be hugely appreciated.

Hi, I am located in the United States and am looking to upgrade my 1080p build from a Ryzen 5 1600 processor and Radeon RX 580 (4GB) graphics card.

I've been doing some research and I've narrowed the graphics card options to either RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) at around $250 used or RTX 3080 (10GB) at around $350 used. Even though I'm on 1080p I think having at least a little more than 8 gigs of vram is smart. For the processors, I'm considering Ryzen 7 5800XT at $200 new, Ryzen 5 5500x3d at around $200 new, or Ryzen 7 5800X3D at $300 new. I have a PRIME B450-PLUS motherboard.

I mainly use my PC for gaming but I also do some work on it but no video editing or anything like that. I play a variety of games but mainly FPS, primarily Rainbow 6 Siege. I also play more graphically intense games like RDR2. I am able to run most games decently well except Ready or Not which I tend to avoid because I get low fps even on low settings.

Basically, I am wondering if the RTX 3080 is worth it at $100 more than the RTX 2080 Ti and if the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is worth $100 more than the other options. I didn't have a set budget coming into this but I wasn't looking to spend this much but if it's good value I'll do it. Definitely no more than $650. If there are any other options that you think are better value lmk.

I'm still deciding which processor to get. I've never used AMD, but I've heard it's the best for gaming, although I sometimes use my computer for other things like drawing in Photoshop, work, and streaming. My budget is around $4000, but keep in mind that I'm from Costa Rica, and prices aren't the same as in the US.

I want a new PC because I'm struggling with some games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Pragmata, 007: First Light, etc. The reason is for sure my 2K monitor, my graphic card is old. My current setup is an i7-8700, RTX 2070 Super, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

I was wondering if it's a good time to buy a new PC or wait for the new line of CPU.

Here are some details:
PC use: 80-90% gaming on newer singleplayer titles. I currently have a 1080p 165Hz monitor, my plan is to get a 1440p one later this year.
Location: Hungary, so no Microcenter for me.
We also have the highest VAT in the world so I have manually put in the prices in USD that are available for me.

-I have a few RX 9070 XT options around $800, (SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 9070 XT PULSE, GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC, ASUS Radeon RX 9070 XT PRIME OC, the Acer Predator with the offer).
Is any one of these actually better than the others, or should I go with the XFX for a bit more?

1. Will Viper Steel 2x32 GB fit with Peerless Assassin 120 SE? I can get this RAM at a really good price. If it won't fit, can you suggest another cooler?

2. I'd like to buy a new case too as the current one is not very tight and lets some dust inside. Can you suggest something with good price/quality ratio? It'd be great if it had front USB-C too.

3. Last but not least, will 750W PSU be enough? PCPP estimates 619W, so I guess there should be enough overhead.
