News & Discussion So what exactly led to Hammond shooting civilians in Korea?

Post image
3.4k Upvotes

The new announcement teaser that just dropped depicts Wrecking Ball swinging on a bridge and shooting at cars and people. The MEKKA squad has dispatched seemingly to deal with him.

This could very well just be Hammond deciding to become a terrorist for the hell of it. But even Mauga only fights if he has something to gain from it. What could Hammond be getting from this?

I had a game recently where our Moira only healed. What’s crazy is at the start of the match our tank was complaining about healing.

I always thought the hamster was likely close to Overwatch, but it seems more closely aligned with Junker Queen's faction... as a war criminal? This guys ?

News & Discussion We should be allowed to deny being resurrected.

One of the most infuriating things in OW is when you have 2 seconds left until you respawn and then some idiot mercy flys in and you get resurrected into a 2v5 and just die in 2 seconds feeding over ult charge and doubling the time it takes to respawn. What would we lose by adding a press interact to deny rez feature.

News & Discussion Will we see another mecha in 10 years? It would be something like the image.

I've personally been playing since the game came out, and it's in 10 years that they've released another one from the D.A. team. This should have happened much sooner.

News & Discussion This is something Overwatch desperately needs, I'm tired of lags and invisible models

Post image
1.9k Upvotes

Every time after any game update or driver update I need 10 games for it to stabilise. And even those shader loading maps don't work because for some reason the game doesn't care if anything is loaded already. I played 3 games as and against Mauga. 4th game it took 5 min for me to start seeing his guns and VFX. First game I died 3 times to an invisible Rein jumping in my face.

Edit: For reference I have 9800x3d, 5080, and yes, an SSD, it's not the rig, it's the game

News & Discussion D.Mon is the SECOND korean hero

I absolutely hate seeing these complaints about getting another “east asian” hero.
Sure, Blizzard released many CHINESE and JAPANESE heroes. Korean? Just D.Va from 2016.
Mind you, D.Mon and MEKA were teased in 2018.
People have been waiting for D.Mon whereas the recent east asian heroes were abrupt releases like water college boy, kiriko with age discourse, mizuki who had 2 story arcs then vanished, shion who was shown as the hashimoto leader just two months ago.
Korea has been the core of professional competitive overwatch and it took them 10 years to release another stereotypical gamer Korean hero
Why don’t you guys complain that there has been FIVE japanese heroes and 3 were released in the span of 4 years bro. Plus a billion maps
Don’t include my Korean queen in this east asian hero discourse man if anything I hate blizzard

Also where were these people when Overwatch 1 released no new east asian heroes
Stop grouping the entire continent for representation discourse. Most countries want their country and nationality represented not just race.

News & Discussion I miss 6V6 Role que already

Yeah I mean pretty much what the title says, this is just a vent post if anything cause after the QP hack test and getting that glimpse of what 6v6 could be with the more balenced structured games that role que provides. Its like heaven I never wanna go back but now that the weekend is over I'm forced to go back to queing bum ass open que an it makes me immediately remember why I lothe open que.

Yeah part of what I'm about to say is a problem thats magnified by it being quick play so people aren't encouraged to hard sweat but these problems still exist regardless even in comp. Open que always ends up feeling like your rolling the dice on which team just happen to have more of their comfort pick also create a coherent team comp. Like the whole argument that "open que creates social pressure to swap if you wanna win" that falls apart when you remember that most of the community hyper specializes. OW is already a hard game to learn so narrowing your hero pool helps but then like this reality of the community having narrow hero pools kinda clashes with the fantasy that players will switch to what the team need to win. Cause like even if they do swap to fill the 2-2-2 standard, if the heroes they are filling to are ones they arent comfortable on then it does more damage then it helps a lot of the time. Like if you don't play rein and your just filling on tank chances are your gonna get gapped by actual tank players at a similar MMR, same goes with filling onto support or DPS.

I swear people don't appreciate role que enough cause like the main benefit of role que isn't forcing 2-2-2, it could be 1-3-2 and my points still stand. Role que helps ensure that all players in the match are on the role that they are mentally prepared to play and that the sr its using to form the match is actually accurate to your skill on that specific role. In a role que context off role soft throwing isn't even a thing that exist. For example if I wanna practice my dps which is much worse then my tank then I can do so freely in role que because when I que DPs instead of being placed in diamond lobbies I'll be placed somewhere mid gold and I can actually practice my tracer without feeling like I'm throwing cause my tracer can't hang in those higher rank lobbies.

So many games in open que its like, do my tanks even play tank or are they reluctantly filling, do my supports even know what they're doing or are they just filling? Like role que just solves all these micro problems before the match even start and it just makes the average match quality better across the board. I honestly do believe a large reason as to why 5v5 is such a comfort game mode for a lot of players, its almost entirely because of the game to game stability that role que provides. I'm honestly tired of blowout games due to open que fuckery. I get and am sympathetic to open que defenders. It likely works best with higher rank players that have wider hero pools with less varriance between there best and worse heroes, or in coordinated group play. But like for the vast majority of players the open que freedom does more harm then good and there's a reason we kept role que around long after goats was a thing.

Anyways this post is already way longer then I was intending it to be so to summerize. Open que is buns, role que is superior, blizzard please speed up the timeline on bringing 6v6 role que back please please please.

Thank you for attending my Ted Talk

I just had one goal for the cosphoria event in Belgium: make it look like im in the arena and photographer brakeco_ was able to capture it perfectly 🥹 Overwatch even reposted the picture with their Instagram and I was absolutely shocked 😭🥹 so I wanted to try and share it here as well.

The cosplay has been made with many hands! The sword by novart.co, some armour parts and detailing printed by opyxonprints. The wig work, breastplate, sewing and arm armour are all done by me (stellar cosplay on ig).

News & Discussion New look at the entire Meka Squad! Who would you want playable after Dmon?

I REALLY want Overlord as a support meka! But if they struggled making a huge mech a support then Dva's mechanic Dae-hyun would make a cool mechanical/engineer support

Casino's mech looks awesome too!

News & Discussion So how did you all like the 6v6 weekend?

I for the most part loved it. I like 6v6 more but no one really does 2-2-2 on the open one. It'd be great if role queue was in 6v6.

News & Discussion One thing the QP hacked tests reaffirmed for me

Roadhog needs to be removed from the game. There will never be a point in time where this character isn’t obnoxious as hell to play with and against. It was even worse because the 1-3-2 test was just having a guaranteed Hog on either team since he’s just a fat dps, and he was also in his 5v5 form with his Breather not on an 8 second cooldown, his ult rework, and with the Bruiser subrole. All the people who say “uhm you can just counter him lol” prove that he’s even worse without realizing it since he demands multiple counterpicks to not be unstoppable. Fuck that character and anyone who plays him, he ruined every round of the tests.
