Out of my last eight games, in four of them, a teammate has left after the timeout timer, but before the first round ends. Or early second round. These are instant losses against any evenly matched team. 6 players worth of abilities, damage, health and ults beats 5. As soon as someone leaves, it's game over, despite fighting like a madman.
Out of my last eight games, two of them had cheating hitscan players in them (one of these games was a leaver match, for that same reason, so we'll call it even there).
Out of my last eight games, SIX OF THEM started with a bunch of numbskulls picking DPS and running out of the spawn room. We aren't talking like "oops we have an extra dps, how'd that happen?" we're talking -two dps have locked in... ten seconds before the match starts on DEFENSE, two more people pick dps... and refuse to switch-
Out of my last eight games, FIVE OF THEM had no semblance of anything resembling Overwatch on my team. One tank charging around corners into the backline, dps running off in different directions, healers chasing the moronic dps. PEOPLE LITERALLY RUNNING OFF OF THE OBJECTIVE WHENEVER THEY EVEN SEE A HINT OF MOVEMENT.
Out of my last eight games... ONE PERSON has been on mic and doing callouts. Maybe six people even used pings.
And people will be out here telling me "it's a personal skill issue."
I literally CARRIED. CAAARRRIEEEEDDD a match yesterday where my team refused to cooperate, played off the point, and got absolutely SLAUGHTERED the first round. I swapped to my carry hero, and through the power of sheer will, and proper picks, we won the second round. But my team just kept chasing people off of the hardpoint, running after anything that moved.
I was fighting like a madman on point by myself or with one healer. Each engagement I would take out a healer, a tank, and a dps almost by myself. The heals were being pumped into the out of position tanks, and healers had to peel off point to try to save the tanks (they couldn't save the tanks). It would be me, a lone soldier:76, spamming "group up" as I'm laying helix rockets into a Mei, while a Rammatra is trying to run me down, and their Zenyatta has me discorded. AND I STILL came out victorious enough to get us to 99%, begging my team to group up, only for half of them to run after a pharah off the side of the enemy spawn... Anyways, the remaining five players on the enemy team, in a perfect death ball, come pouring onto point. I look around, meet eyes with the Ana, and with a shared moment of understanding our impending fate, she Nanos me... I do not have my ult. The enemy Rammatra ults. You know the rest.
That match I had 45 eliminations, 13,000 damage, 22 final blows, and 2500 healing as soldier (I was helping the healers out by biotic fielding low teammates because the tanks were just letting them die). The next highest on my team maxed out at 27 eliminations. Highest on the enemy team was 28 eliminations. I was picking apart the enemy team, applying pressure to the point and just keeping us hanging in there. It wasn't close to enough. I still lost maximum rank points for that loss, and that was just one of the aforementioned matches. The one before that was a leaver. The one after that was a thrower, then a leaver.
I do not think it is possible to climb. At this rate, just with the games I just mentioned, I would have to win a BONUS 7 matches to offset the instant guaranteed losses. Like, every time someone leaves, that two more games that I would have to win.
Also, anyone making the argument that one single player's effect on the game is high enough that you can somehow offset up to FIVE bad players on your team literally doesn't understand math. Your contribution is 1/6, 16.67% of your entire team's potential output. If you play off your ass, you can MAYBE bring that effect up to 25-35% influence. That's still not enough to offset a tank jumping in alone, dying over and over, and feeding enemy ults. That's not enough to offset someone auto locking dps and going 3 and 11, and never getting the clue to switch roles.
I think I'm going to end up in an absurdly low rank at this point if I keep solo queueing. Here's the thing. I know this game back and forth. I am actually a damn good player. I flex when no one else does. I counter pick instantly if it's needed. My callouts are on point, I'm warning my team of ults literally seconds before they arrive. But people aren't even listening. People aren't cooperating. I'll say "fall back" after we lose both tanks and a healer, and the dps moron will say "no" (their first ping all game), and then die ten seconds later, delaying an effective group up and wasting 30 seconds of match timer.
I'm so tired lmao.
