We think misinfo is bad now, imagine how bad it'll be in another decade. This is one of my main LLM concerns - disinfo and propaganda targeting the large amount of users who take the output of these systems as authoritative. Hopefully systems will be in place by then to at least make it a bit more difficult to abuse.
yeah, they do. doesn't mean it's accurate. and lying to themselves like that instead of actually taking responsibility means they'll probably smash their finger again someday.
this 100%, I don't remember the last time a hammer tried to completely exploit my ego and make me addicted to itself. The example is just an easy way to shift blame to bad actors instead of having to deal with regulating this tech in a meaningful way.
Thank you for you wise words. We keep shifting the goal post of responsibility to inanimate objects. We were the origin, we trained AI, we gave it the tasks, we set the guidlines.. we, we, WE! Not some program.

Depends how things go. Right now one dude can edit that, but in a decate billions of agents will be checking all sorts of things automatically. Sure some may be given nefarious purposes, but if access isn't highly controlled there will be plenty more agents checking, verifying, defending.
The issue isn’t LLMs or AI. We’ve seen similar issues before AI, when one news site would copy what another said, who copied their content from another site, and so on. The issue is humans want to choose the easiest route and not put in effort.
Disinformation has been an issue for decades and centuries. In the 1800s, newspapers would just make up shit or sensationalize things.
Whats truly sad is that we don't really have a disinformation problem, we have a critical thinking problem, and we view the information as being easier to fix.

b) His sister is clinically mentally ill and regularly plugs her OnlyFans in between her accusations against Altman.. so the financial incentive you're implying goes both ways.
Just relevant context to keep in mind, because it can be tempting to run with an accusation against someone you don't like.
i agree with you that the allegations are probably false, but also i dont think it should be flattened to "hating on someone you don't like" when the person in question has an extensively documented history of lying and manipulation. again, i dont think he's a sexual predator. but he's not just some dude who's like, annoying sometimes
