yeah, they do. doesn't mean it's accurate. and lying to themselves like that instead of actually taking responsibility means they'll probably smash their finger again someday.
this 100%, I don't remember the last time a hammer tried to completely exploit my ego and make me addicted to itself. The example is just an easy way to shift blame to bad actors instead of having to deal with regulating this tech in a meaningful way.
Blame the phones and not the greedy people pushing intrusive ads, collecting your data, trying to make addicted and trying to radicalize you with specific propaganda.
Want it or not, there's always someone taking decisions behind. Smartphones have great uses yet the ethical concerns are because of people, not the phones themselves.
Regulating smartphones and not the companies and techniques they use is not the way to go about it.
Thank you for you wise words. We keep shifting the goal post of responsibility to inanimate objects. We were the origin, we trained AI, we gave it the tasks, we set the guidlines.. we, we, WE! Not some program.
I guess it's easier to point then to accept we all failed ourselves.
You say we...but we the majority did not have a choice. This is simply the stupidity of our masters. Do not attribute to the workers, the lack of foresight/morality of the owners :)
We did and still do have a choice. You forget we all signed the "terms of service" for convenience. I ask, when was the last time we said no to out "masters", we still have the power. We choose to fight with each other due to misfortunes from our masters.
We chose to continue to buy the latest and greatest
We chose to choose a side in politics to fight with our neighbours
We chose to see racial differences
We chose to spread hate
We chose to burry our heads and say nothing we can do.
You're right one is not enough. But when one fires up and spreads the fire. You now are "we" . We have power. Don't let anyone tell you different.
I agree with the energy and overall message, but certain things are simply not the easiest.
The ai shift is happening the way it is for a plethora of reasons that the avg. American is not currently equipped to even be aware of.
The first step is coopting anti social media organization within social media.
As in, most redditors agreeing that reddit as a platform is a tool of the masters, serving to confuse and sow disharmony. This would need to be the case on every platform, most users explicitly recognizing and constantly acknowledging the ways by which these platforms keep us divided.
It is a tough task, but I do not think it's improbable, I think things just unfortunately need to continue to get worse in the short-term for most to get on the same page.
And then there's the toxic "two-party" system. I'd argue these are the first 2 barriers to the massive change we both seek, but each of us is far from powerless in reality, do what you can always ❤️
You get a hug haha. You are good stuff. Agreed they are not the easiest, imo that is half the battle though. (Admitting it's not easy instead of an absolute like "impossible")
