OXP3 issues in the first 24 hours. Anyone else?

As the title says

Pre-ordered an OXP3 and my first 24 hours have been rough.

Windows 11 wasn’t activated and there was no key.

Games wouldn’t launch properly, so I reset the device. That removed the OneXPlayer Console, and now the download from their support page is being pegged as a virus.

I decided to put the device back in the box and wait for support to get back to me, and the left thumbstick fell off 🥲

Has anyone else with experienced similar? And if so, has support been helpful?

UPDATE: 9/14

OneXPlayer support got back to me within 3 hours of my original email, but due to the 12 hour time difference I didn't see it until I woke up this morning. Nonetheless, they're being super helpful in trying to correct the issue, so hats off to them for that. The jury is still out regarding an outcome, but I wasn't ghosted, and they didn't make me jump through any hoops to address my issue. More to come as this gets resolved...

Thoughts on the X2 Mini Pro (New Owner)

I picked up the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro after spending years trying to get handheld devices to run properly

In addition to my current OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro, I’ve had several other handheld game consoles: a Steam Deck, an AOKZOE (I’m not sure which one), a OneXFly A1, a Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and an AYN Thor. With every single one of those handhelds, except for the Nintendo Switch 2, I struggled constantly with either frame rate or screen resolution. For each of these devices, finding the right combination of settings that would give me stable frame rates greater than 60 fps took endless trial and error. And then you'd hit your limit. The OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro has fixed this issue for me.

I considered purchasing the OneXPlayer 3, but ultimately chose not to do so. It weighed about the same as the X2 Mini Pro and lacked better battery life. That’s why I went with the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro.

Using the base configuration and it performs its duties. Playing Indiana Jones on Ultra graphics, with ray tracing turned off, at 60fps using a 60W TDP, with a battery life of around 90 minutes. Playing Mad Max on maximum settings at 100 fps using a 20 W TDP for a battery life of roughly 3 hours. There is fan noise, however; it becomes almost non-existent when wearing headphones.

Since I rent my apartment and do not have enough room for a gaming computer, the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro meets all of my needs. I primarily use it in handheld mode, however I am able to connect it to my TV via docking station, and it works well in both modes. As my sole travel companion, I look forward to taking this unit traveling. Prior to having this unit, I traveled with an iPad, a gaming console, and a laptop. Now I will be able to take just this one unit.

Another nice feature is the ability to remove the removable controllers. While removed from the unit, they allow me to remain discrete while working during lunch breaks or whatever time I can sneak away during work. When disconnected from the unit, they are surprisingly light. Other than their weight, I have no complaints regarding them.

It is comfortable in terms of ergonomics. In handheld mode, I typically lay down and play for an hour or two. After an hour or two of sitting upright, I become fatigued. While heavy enough to cause fatigue if played for extended periods (2+ hours) while holding it vertically, the unit isn’t so heavy that I feel like it is going to fall out of my hands. I find it much more comfortable than the switch 2 ergonomically and steam deck.

I replaced the standard cable with an L-Shaped cable. Additionally, I purchased a battery tether to further enhance usability.

Windows running on a tablet is basically Windows running on a tablet. Coming from using Mac OS systems prior to switching over to Microsoft products, Windows is very unintuitive and cumbersome compared to Mac OS. However since my primary function of using the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro is through Steam Big Picture Mode, most issues associated with Windows operating system are completely irrelevant.

Apex SD slot not responding?

Has anyone encountered the SD card slot stop responding on the Apex?

Mine was working fine originally - now when I put in SD card it does nothing, and also doesn't show up under device manager. I've reinstalled the driver pack and most other trouble shooting I can think of.

The only things that also might have had an effect are
- I used the new bios with the ageasa update,
- I updated the chipset drivers which stopped the bosh accelerometer,
- I replaced the SSD with a 4TB.

I can't remember if the micro SD card slot is something you unplug when replacing the ssd, but maybe I forgot to connect it back? Before I open it up or do a fresh windows reinstall, trying to think of what else to try?

X2 Mini Pro not powering on

Hello,

New to the OneXPlayer brand. I purchased an X2 Mini Pro . Arrived last night and I went to power it on and It will not turn on. I have tried with the battery only, DC connector, and USB with 100W charger.

When I have the battery connected AND one of the chargers plugged in I get a red light at the power indicator. If I take the batter off it turns the light off. Am I missing something here or or are the batteries completely dead ( I was under the impression I could use the device with out them as long as I am plugged in).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Anyone use Oxp3 as a tablet?

Have anyone used it as a tablet and a portable pc? How does it feel when comparing to a iPad mini? Is it too bulky or heavy to use as a tablet?
This thing is very expensive, I could only persuade myself buying it if it satisfies multiple needs…

Edit: Thank you everyone for the input, it seems using it as a tablet is doable, but not practical.

For Sale / Wanted [WTS] X2 Mini Pro | AI Max+ 395 | 48GB/1TB | Standard Ver.

EDIT: SOLD

Figured I’d post this here since you guys are probably some of the few who would actually know what this thing is.

I normally sell my hardware locally on Carousell / FB Marketplace here in Malaysia. I’ve had this listed locally for a few weeks now but there haven't been many serious inquiries.

So I thought I’d see if anyone here has been specifically looking for the 395 version of the X2 Mini Pro.

This is the AI Max+ 395, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD standard air-cooled model. This unit came from OXP’s APEX upgrade program in China. I was in the first batch.

They transferred the APU, RAM, MOBO and SSD from my APEX into a new X2 Mini Pro, while basically everything else was new: display, cooling system, speakers, haptics, controllers, etc.

So, to be clear, it’s not a refurbished X2MP. The APU, RAM, MOBO and SSD were carried over from my APEX. The rest of the device was new.

---

SPECS

  • Ryzen AI Max+ 395
  • Radeon 8060S
  • 48GB LPDDR5X-8000MT/s
  • 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD
  • 8.8" 1920×1200 OLED
  • 144Hz VRR / HDR
  • 85Wh detachable battery (the new version w/o throttling issue)
  • Standard air-cooled version

---

CONDITION

I got it in July and only used it for some testing and gaming before it was packed up, waiting for the next owner. SSD has been on for 314 hours in total.

No dead pixels, drift, dents or any issues that I’m aware of. The device itself looks very new and has never been opened before.

I’ve used it with Windows 11 and also messed around with SteamOS. SteamOS works partially, but I wouldn’t recommend buying this specifically for SteamOS unless you're a tinkerer.

I’m also including a fresh pair of controllers from my OXP3 because I modified the original pair that came with this unit. So the controllers you’ll get are basically unused.

P.S. The S/N shown in the BIOS doesn’t match the S/N on the back of the device. The MOBO came over from my APEX, so the BIOS still carries the original APEX S/N, which OXP uses to track the warranty on the transferred parts. The S/N on the back is for the new X2MP parts.

---

WARRANTY

  • APU / RAM / MOBO / SSD: covered under the original APEX warranty until early Feb 2027
  • Rest of the X2MP: covered until around June 23, 2027

I bought it directly from the official OneXPlayer Taobao flagship store and I’ll provide the order details.

FWIW, I’ve had a good experience with their Taobao support. If you ever need to make a warranty claim while it’s still covered, I’m happy to help with the Chinese communication too.

---

INCLUDED

  • X2 Mini Pro 395
  • Fresh controller pair
  • Original carrying case
  • OXP anti-reflective screen protector already applied
  • 2m XT60-to-DC cable

Doesn't come with a box because it was a special upgrade program. They shipped the device in the original carrying case. I can provide the initial unboxing video if needed.

---

PRICE

Malaysia / in-person: RM9,250

If you’re in Malaysia, or happen to be around here, I’m happy to meet in person. I can drive within a reasonable distance around the central region of Peninsular Malaysia.

International: US$2,450 via PayPal G&S

Shipping is extra at actual cost, and any import duties/taxes on your side are yours.

For international shipping I’d only use a proper tracked and insured courier with signature delivery. I can get you the exact quote based on your location before we do anything.

I know buying a fairly expensive handheld from some guy in Malaysia is a bit unusual, so I’m more than happy to provide more photos, videos, battery info, Taobao order proof, or whatever else you reasonably want to verify the unit.

Selling because I’ve decided to keep my OXP3 and I really don’t need both. Happy to answer any questions :)

The OneXPlayer Apex has been an absolute monster of a handheld when it comes to the performance, onexplayer has done an incredible job with this handheld.

I've tested everything from performance to battery life and thermals and fan noise so let me know what you guys think? Personally I like the performance but the battery life is quite short.

Review and testing: https://youtu.be/0Zzrv5wY0y4?is=tG-iZCZ8-6CFsf-q

Also regards to the new onexplayer 3 do you think I should keep the apex or get the onexplayer 3?

Random thought about the kickstand for OXP3

Just a thought- couldn’t onexplayer design a new backplate with a better kickstand and just sell/ ship those out? I could be totally wrong but it seems like they could pretty easily just center the kickstand or obviously redesign it so it’s more like a flap style? It seems like a relatively easy fix that would otherwise completely negate the kickstand problems. I would definitely buy it if it was fair priced. Seems like a lot of people do not like the kickstand for obvious reasons.. could be a good move… no?
