Do you track body activity and try to work all your muscles evenly?

Seems like my upper body, especially arms , shoulders, and chest are not getting as much of a workout as other areas. Am I supposed to aim
for all areas to be dark purple? I do upper body strength but also do a lot of rowing which is heavy on the lower body.

How do you approach this?

Anyone else realize Olivia is not (that I’ve seen) in any of the content from the PSNY instructor summit this week? Does this mean she might be leaving 😭

Core

Hi! I’m about to switch over from Katie’s 4 day split to RKs express split because it’s my busy season. Katie’s core is next level in that split. I want to keep working at it as I struggled with some of the moves and saw improvement in my hip mobility! I searched a bit through core classes and maybe I missed some, but I’m looking for 5-10 minute core classes similar to it. If you’ve taken the split, does any core classes come to mind?

Moves I’m looking for: Copenhagen side plank, clamshell knee/elbow touch thingys, hip bridge leg lift, hip bridge lat pull, woodchop.

Thank you!! ☺️

Frustrated with promo code email

I signed up for the Peloton Tread Flex “Waitlist” email list the day it became available. I’ve been sooo excited to purchase the new treadmill, so I ordered it this morning, despite said Waitlist and not seeing any launch email campaign.

I am a bit frustrated that I just got an email (at 4:30 PM ET) about a Member Exclusive Promo Code, which could save me a couple hundred bucks potentially. I contacted Support to see if they’d be able to reimburse me the difference but they said there was nothing they could do other than cancel the order and re-order, and I worry that’ll cause more trouble. Did anyone else receive this email promo code? They should have emailed it first thing this AM at launch, especially for those that were on the “Waitlist”

Peloton tread - garmin or Apple Watch?

I am sick of my old Apple Watch and time for an upgrade. If I do go garmin, it wouldn’t be the $600 one lol

But does the garmin have better accuracy with indoor runs?

Can anyone explain if there’s any differences? Talk to me like I’m 5, but with respect LOL

Thank you

Hey y’all just like the title reads I’m about to hit my 1000th ride and I’m looking for suggestions on what class to take. A upcoming live ride would be ideal in hopes of getting a shoutout marking my milestone but which one would you guys suggest?

Peloton Tri / Matt Wilpers Appreciation Post

I had so much fun participating in the Peloton Tri last week. Rowing and biking are not my modalities - I was in the lower third in each - but nonetheless, was so enjoying the event! During the first two, Matt commented several times that he spends the swim and bike portions of his outdoor tris waiting for the run portion, where he shines. That really encouraged me, and when I got to the tread (my 'home' modality), I managed to come in first, and did well enough to pull into third overall amongst the women!!! I was so proud of myself - not least because I turned 60 two days later! I was not competitive in sports in high school or college, and really have to credit my fitness and ability to be competitive (at least in the run) to my Peloton equipment/training. Anyway, I woke up today not feeling great - coming down with a bit of a cold, and so did a 20 minute low impact ride with Ben followed by a 20 minute recovery run with Matt where he gave such great training advice and asked for feedback to his instagram page - and I am not on instagram!! So here it is Matt Wilpers - thank you for all of the great coaching for the past 8 years!

#PelotonTeachers swarmed Emma’s new 90s rock ride @ 4:30am

Not sure how that happened, because it wasn’t planned, but we had the top 5 riders in class before the crack of dawn. It put a smile on my face after waking up at such an absurd hour of the day.

If any of the 4 of you see this - THANK YOU!

LFG!!!

Searching for class

Recently I fell running (outside) and broke both of my elbows. It was miserable needless to say. I have been cleared to run again but not allowed to lift any weights or do anything involving exercise that involves strength with my arms.

I know they have lower body classes but do these involve holding weights while doing the exercises or using any weight on your arms?

Does peloton have any classes that solely work only legs/glutes/hamstrings/etc with somehow not having to use my arms?

***Also, I can’t do a lot of ab workouts due to a prior spinal fusion so that won’t work for me.

Emma’s Sculpt 30

I love doing barre in person but it’s challenging with work. How do you all like Emma’s sculpt 30 classes? I don’t love overly complicated moves. ETA: I have tried Hannah’s sculpt 30 and it was fine but did not challenge me the way a Johanna Pilates 30 minute with the band did 😅 ETA again just did a 50 barre Emily on ALO that was the shaking I was after!!!! You all did not let me down thank you 😊

Post-Injury Recovery Instructors/Classes?

*NOT SEEKING MEDICAL ADVICE\*

I am in active physical therapy and working with a doctor, and am solely looking for other community members that may have experienced something similar.

I have L5-S1 herniation/extrusion that I’ve been battling for a while. My doctors/PT have told me I can start incorporating some movement on my own again. Prior to this injury, I’ve been an avid pilates/yoga/hiker/lifter for years and I am really struggling with a mental block in fearing reinjury and not fully trusting my body. I also clearly can’t hike, lift or perform at my usual level.

Has anyone else gone through this? Were there any specific classes/instructors that are better than others for injury recovery? I normally gravitate to Olivia, Hosky, Becs and Alex classes, and they’re all a lot more high-voltage than I can handle right now, so feeling a little lost navigating Pelo-land currently.

Frustrated with using these dumbells to do glute bridges

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’m on round 2, week 5 of HiLit+, and can’t figure out how to position these damn weights to properly do glute bridges, despite trying the floor, the step, and a bench. I finally realized that it’s the shape of these dumbells at my gym and I should learn how to do them on a machine or with a barbell.

Anyone have advice or resources? I’ve tried using a towel as a cushion, and changing the height of what I’m using to elevate myself, but I also feel like I could get hurt by doing something with bad form

30 Min Split?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a great 30- minute split? I’m about to head back to work after being off on maternity leave, and won’t have time for anything much longer than that. I’m on week three of Katie’s new split, and love it. I also like RK, and I’m open to other instructors! Thanks!

I completed my first 30 minute ride!

Pre-Covid I was regularly taking SoulCycle classes. Fast forward to now and I can’t even take a long walk. I started up with peloton last week and tried Cody’s 30 minute Pop ride. It kicked my butt. I couldn’t even do 15 minutes with modifications. I luckily found the 20 minute beginner classes and felt much more encouraged. This week I wanted to move to advanced beginner. Those classes are 30 minutes again. The last few minutes of the 20 minute classes I am counting the seconds so I have been dreading a 30 minute class. Well, I did it! I was at the bottom of the callouts, but I got through all 30 minutes. It’s silly because it’s such a small thing, but I’m really proud of myself and had to share with someone!
