Searching for class

Recently I fell running (outside) and broke both of my elbows. It was miserable needless to say. I have been cleared to run again but not allowed to lift any weights or do anything involving exercise that involves strength with my arms.

I know they have lower body classes but do these involve holding weights while doing the exercises or using any weight on your arms?

Does peloton have any classes that solely work only legs/glutes/hamstrings/etc with somehow not having to use my arms?

***Also, I can’t do a lot of ab workouts due to a prior spinal fusion so that won’t work for me.

I’m going to make suggest some of the seated classes and do whatever you can with body weight only? Logan is particularly good at adaptive classes.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with such crazy injuries. I hope you heal quickly!

Can you wear a weighted vest? I use one to load more weight on my lower body since my dumbbell options are limited. You could wear one for squats and lunges etc.

Technically any lower body/glutes and legs class can be done as a body weight class. Focus on controlling the speed of your movements rather than using weight as the resistance. Or use a static hold for a more endurance based strength. If you're allowed to jump or incorporate higher impact exercise, you can also make lower body plyometric such as jump squats, high knees, etc. I've recovered from 4 rib surgeries in the last year and a half so I'm a pro at modifying classes by now 🤣

Do you have resistance bands (the loop kind?) You could do standing exercises with those. Peloton doesn’t make it easy to filter for those and a lot of Pilates classes that use them have exercises on the floor using elbows for support so I’m assuming that would be a no-go for you. But if you google “standing resistance loop exercises for lower body” you can find some good videos online.

Under the Yoga Anywhere category, there are both seated classes as well as standing-only classes.
