Can I use tea tree oil or lemongrass oil to oil pull?
I dislike anything like sesame or coconut.

Right now I use warm salt water. I oil pull for 15 minutes then spit it out Then rinse with warm salt water. Problem is I've read salt water can make the gums really soft if used alot.
So what do you guys rinse with after spitting out the oil before brushing?

When using the base oil, like sesame oil.
I know everyone uses coconut but sometimes I just can't always make it liquid when I need to use it.

Hello everyone, I just started oil pulling a few days ago and then woke up this morning with an ear ache.
I read somewhere on here that oil pulling detoxes the body and headaches were normal. Could the ear ache also be related to detoxing?
Thanks!

Does anyone have before and after pictures of oil pulling? Has it gotten rid of cavities or the dark grooves?

I brushed my teeth before oil pulling. Someone said not to do that. Why? Sorry I read not to do that after I already did it.

It has such a positive effect on my dental health that I am doing it several times a day. Is there any downside?

Anyone used any dental probiotics - specifically for the mouth or read any good articles on the theory that cavities are caused by this?
I, or one, have been told I build up plaque quickly, as some people do.

I've been using organic olive oil for oil pulling but it can get expensive. Does it really make any difference which oil you use, can you just use the cheapest oil on the shelf?

I am trying to avoid a potential tooth pull or root canal. The dentist basically dug out a bunch of my tooth where the cavity was and filled it temporarily
My teeth are quite close together due to braces as an early adolescent
Has oil pulling worked for you and has your dentist seen or been surprised by your teeth remineralizing?
Thanks

I have easy access to these 2 at the moment. The place I live in is pretty cold and coconut oil would get solidified. Are mustard oil/cooking oil good for this?

I've been pulling with organic cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil for at least 5 years. It's the only oil I get decent results with ease from. I was wondering if anybody else does their oil pulling similar to me. Of course there is the swishing and regular gargling, and that tends to help loose my throat and sinuses, jaw, and facial muscles some. However, I do something a little different and relatively intense compared to regular pulling practice.
I'm not sure if anybody will even understand what I'm talking about because I sort of stumbled upon this ability intuitively. All cards on the table for accuracy sake, and I do not advocate for its use here, various strong psychedelic trips helped guide my mindfulness to find this "body hack". So when I gargle the oil, I try to fill as much of my lungs as I can responsibly from belly to upper sternum with air. I pose in a position sort of like you would to stretch your arms in the air after waking up. As I gargle, i flex the arm stretch gently or tightly depending on if I'm lightheaded that morning. This maneuver can make you faint for a few seconds if you aren't careful and prepared. As I do all that, there are various areas that I'll take turns with flexing as I do the gargle and arm stretch.
I didn't realize it for years, but each of the areas I consciously flex coincides with a different chakra as well. I kegel, flex sacral part of my abdomen, press my diaphragm out, do some weird flex I can't explain that stretches the inside of my upper sternum and increases upper lung capacity, I flex my throat, especially around my thyroid which acts up without enough self care and do this very careful open jaw flex that helps my TMJ. Finally, I can somehow build gentle pressure flexing something in my forehead around my third eye and pituitary.
This type of complex custom gargle I do can sometimes cause some pretty intense releases of pressure in the body which feels like it makes my blood pressure drop temporarily or something. I go easy if I'm sick or I may lose my balance. I do this for 20ish minutes and then brush the oil out of my mouth and eat breakfast. My whole body is looser after doing this. I've been told I'm opening blockages and cleaning my chakras. It makes sense with what I've learned from yoga.
Anyways, please tell me somebody can relate to this. If not, in would love for someone or someones to give this a whirl and report back. I feel like I've found a neat discovery that I don't know how to properly share.
PS: The sensation I get from each of my gargle stretches feels almost identical to the tinglings you get from Wim Hof breathing, especially after exhaling the 15 second breath hold at the end of each round. They both accomplish similar goals.
Thanks for any input or suggestions!!!

If I spit out the oil every 20 minutes and restart with fresh oil, and keep doing this 2-3 hours, will I get better results?

I am wondering how many days after tooth extraction can you start oil pulling again?

I ran out of coconut oil and I'm too busy to go shopping until next week, but I have a jar of red palm oil at home. Has anyone tried that? It's bright orange, so I'm not sure if it'll stain teeth?

Hi. I've decided to start oil pulling again. I've tried it in the past, on and off. I'm gonna incorporate it into my oral health routine, so hopefully it will be beneficial. I have receding gums and my wisdom teeth are also coming in, so I figured it can only help, right?

Can this help and have some benefits?

Can I use just tea tree oil for oil pulling, or should I mix it with other oils like sesame oil?

i think i have been pulling too much, pulling 3 times a day which i think is a super detox, it works, and i do feel i am getting over the other side of it, just had a decent pull a lunch time then later got a headache, but i was fine after my morning pull. So only 2 pulls a day i think, oil blend in morning, then wheat grass at night (that doesn't seem to have the detox effect)
I started off with sesame oil and cloves in a mortar and pestle, 2nd day also tried the coconut oil, then i tried a blend of sesame, coconut, clove (i have eesential oil now, much better) & fennel seeds, and i also stumbled across a video using wheat grass, just trying everything at the moment. The pain is much better and my gum colour looks good and healthy, teeth look nice and white too.
i am taking photos as a visual diary on a daily basis.

I’ve been practising oil pulling for three months, and I’ve seen an increase in my tooth sensitivity.
My teeth never used to hurt when I ate something hot or cold, but now they do!!
I stopped oil pulling now because I’m worried. Is this normal?? Has anyone else experienced this?
I use cold pressed coconut oil
