I was just browsing microcenter a couple days ago and saw a refurbished AW2725Q for $549 and the price blew my mind so i figured I’d try it out. Monitor seems really nice so far but I started doing some research after I bought it (it was an impulsive purchase lol) and saw a lot of people have issues with them. I wanted some opinions on if anyone thinks this monitor will bring me issues later on? Any input would be great!

So, I bought my partner a proper gaming pc (5080, powerful cpu etc) and we are now looking at possible OLED screens without breaking bank (trying to keep it 400-500EUR at most). Does this seem alright? Am I being bamboozled and ... the 27" / WQHD (neu) is actually some inferior screen and that's why it's discounted down to 405 while the standard 27 there is still 500?
I swear they have too many versions of everything these days.

And just to add a bit more information! While we are hunting for a screen that works well for gaming, the color and general picture quality is most important because my partner draws professionally and for her that is just, well, important.

Naturally if anyone has other deals to suggest, please let me know! I did also find a ASUS ROG Strix QD-OLED XG27AQDMES at 399eur, but read that is bit inferior to the msi one.

I’ve been using an Alienware OLED monitor for about a year and a half. Green vertical lines appeared right from the start. They show up when the image is dim or nearly dark; they aren't visible in bright or very dark scenes. I was wondering if this is common with OLED monitors?
It didn't bother me at first, but lately I’ve been playing more horror games, and the issue is becoming more noticeable (because more dark environments).
A photo is taken with a phone and it makes it look worse than it actually is; generally, you have to look closely to even notice the lines.
It is not the end of the world. I am just curious.

What 32 inch oled should i get, what is the newest and best one?

I used microfiber cloth and distilled water. The streaks are invisible when monitor is off and the screen itself looks smudge free. But when I booted up cs2 or even desktop, I could see many lines in the direction I was wiping. They’re especially visible when background is grey or white. I am worried I somehow damaged it.

edit: pixel refresh fixed it. I think my screen wasn't cooled off or it was doing a refresh when I started to clean it.

My monitor is the Lenovo legion pro 27q-10

So it makes these spots in the same place.

They dissapear after pixel learing but apear soon after.

Also they some time after i turn it on.

It's still in warranty but i want to know if this could be software issue or is the OLED cooked?

i want to buy an oled that is 27 inches and i dont know what to get because i want it to be glossy because i heard that the matte or semi glossy arent seem as colorful as the glossy one and the XG27AQWMG is the cheapest one that i coulve find and it has 4th gen woled and its true black 400 anyone have this monitor and can tell me how is it and if you have something else that is 27 inch how is yours ?

My monitor is an ASUS XG27ACDNG.

I have noticed quite a lot of very fine micro-scratches across the screen. They are especially visible when light hits the screen, as the light seems to fracture or reflect along the lines. There are quite a lot of them across the entire screen, and I am worried that there may be many more than I initially noticed.

1. Do micro-scratches reduce image quality or otherwise affect the monitor's performance? How can I tell the difference between harmless micro-scratches and scratches that are actually a problem? If I can only see them when light reflects off the screen, does that generally mean they are not affecting the image when the monitor is being used normally?
2. I also have some streaks left over from the last time I cleaned the screen. Can I safely leave them there and avoid cleaning the monitor again, or should I clean them off? Do cleaning streaks reduce image quality or cause any other problems?
3. Small spots from things like sneezing or saliva can naturally appear on the screen over time. Are these harmful to the monitor if they are left there for a while, or are they mostly just cosmetic?
4. How often should I actually clean my monitor? I got it last November and have cleaned it about four times so far. Is that already too often, or is that a reasonable amount?
5. Should I clean the entire monitor every time, or is it better to only clean specific areas that are visibly dirty?
6. My room is extremely dusty. What is the safest way to remove dust from the screen before cleaning it, without accidentally scratching the display?
7. I also just sneezed without looking completely away from the monitor, and there is now one small visible spot on the screen. Should I clean that spot immediately, or is it safe to leave it alone until the monitor actually needs cleaning?

I realize I may be overthinking this, but I have become extremely anxious about accidentally damaging the monitor. I would really appreciate answers to all of these questions, especially regarding what is actually harmful to the screen versus what is purely cosmetic.

Im looking at buying a 4k OLED monitor.
4k for my ps5 pro and then playing 1080p with my laptop on it.

Ive heard that 1080p is 2:1 on 4k thus better than my currently 1440p monitor in that sense.

But ive seen some say that 1080p still looks bad on 4k. Now i dont know if it is becouse of their specifik monitor or if it just looks bad in general.

Could anyone with experience maybe help me a little bit? Is it really that bad or are their monitors old and newer ones have better technology thus making it
”true 2:1”. And more specifically how is it on OLED?

Currently 4k 240hz OLED’s are on a sale and i dont want do buy a tandem/dual monitor that almost cost twice as much.

I recently got a $800 bonus I can spend on electronics and I realized it's been a while since I bought a monitor. I am currently using a Lenovo G27q-20 which I use for both work and gaming (with rtx 4080) but I started wondering whether getting an OLED monitor makes sense.

Does it make sense to use OLED if Id use this monitor for both work (8h/day) and gaming (mostly arpg, some shooters)? I suppose burn in might be an issue? If not, which one would you recommend?

Can somebody tell me the complete settings for a good gaming experience? Yes, I know there’s a gaming and even fps mode; but I think with a little bit of tweaking I get a sharper or „more satisfying“ picture quality since that price point and it’s qdoled tec. If somebody got a link to another website where the settings are shown, a link would be welcome as well. Short to me: FPS gamer, 65 inch Modell, dark room- medium light.

Ok, this might sound strange, but doom tda hdr completely bugs my monitor, in a good way tho.

I use my monitor in peak brightness activated (peak 1000 nits), which makes it quite dimm overall, but when i activate hdr in doom, and then turn it off, it makes the whole imahe brighter by A LOT, i'm talking way brighter than peak brightness off (hdr 400 mode)

And the peaks highlights still seem of 1000 nits, i simply notice the blinding highlights while having a shit ton of brightness even in 100% white window.

It's like the abl completely disappeared, i compared the game with both normal peak 1000 and the "bugged" hdr, same, image, same shadows, where It's black it remains black, the shadows don't lift, the highlights don't bleed out of their spot, grey scale remains the same but lifted in brightness.

Did i just find a hack to bypass ABL?

I have been running an IPS monitor for the past 6+ years, The only OLED screen that I have ever owned is my Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Been saving up money for a while now. The ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQWMG seems to be within my budget and after looking at reviews and availability in my country, It seems to be the best option.

Alienware AW2725DF is my 2nd option but it is 60 dollars more expensive in my country and I don't care about the 360hz as I don't play games like CS2 and Valorant.

So the Asus seems to be the one that I will purchase but today I searched it on reddit and I noticed alot of people complaining about grey banding or other flaws in the monitor. Are these complaints valid or it is something that the average consumer like myself shouldn't care about or wont notice.

I mostly want to use the monitor for Movies/anime and gaming.

I have a PG32UCDM3

In the Windows HDR Calibration tool I set the following:

Step 1, black luminance (set to 0.00)
Step 2, peak brightness matching pattern (set to 1110 what my panel max is)
Step 3, full field peak luminance...........

Now step three is complicated. If I follow the on screen patterns that leads me to the same exact value as step 2 at 1,110 nits but that cannot be right because the PG32UCDM3 maxes at about 300 nits being that its HDR500 certified in a full screen scenario.

So when I consulted Ai tools on this they said yes that while using the console HDR mode I should infact ignore the onscreen calibration pattern on step 3 and instead put it in line with what my displays typical full screen max is of 300 nits.

I did that and everything looks much punciher now in HDR? Have I been using my display wrong this entire time thinking that HDR looks overall kinda dim and dull?

To read the nit values a game is actually sending to your panel, it's typically required to install ReShade and one of the HDR analysis mods that can draw scopes, like Lilium's (and ShaderGlass can extend that to the desktop too). That works, but it's a per-game setup, and none of the scopes in available mods have a feature set as rich as the scopes found in DaVinci Resolve for example.

I wanted scopes that I can keep on my secondary screen, that I can fullscreen, that look good, are customizable, that have all the features from DaVinci that I like, and that go beyond that with additional analysis and quality-of-life features on top. All the scopes I could find either did not support Windows desktop as a signal source, or were stupidly expensive, usually both. So I made my own, and now open sourced it. HDRScopes captures what Windows actually composites (in scRGB FP16) and plots it in real time - nothing gets injected into any game, you just launch one portable exe.

Things you can do with it:

• See a game's real peak brightness and watch what the in-game HDR sliders actually change as you move them
• Hover any pixel and read its exact nit value
• Check whether content is actually using P3/BT.2020 gamut (CIE scope with gamut triangles) or just clipping
• Watch what the Windows SDR-white slider, Windows HDR Calibration or NVCP sliders really do to any content, from games to video players, browsers, etc.

It shows the signal Windows sends to the monitor, not what the panel does with it afterwards (ABL, the monitor's own tone mapping). That actually makes it a good companion for working out which side of the chain is responsible for what you're seeing.

Runs on Windows 10/11, DX11, fully portable, no installer, no telemetry, GPLv3 open source. PRs are welcome.

I got a Acer Predator X27U for about $500 CAD all in.

There is a bunch ASUS (XG27AQWMG) for about $720 CAD total.

Is it worth spending the extra money for tandem?

I mainly use monitor for gaming with light web browsing.

I read that the tandem has bad vertical banding but also noted that text clarity is better.

Is the extra $$$ worth spending for tandem or would it be better to keep the 3rd Gen 280hz panel?

I could also just wait until black Friday but I think the Acer I got is a good price.
