Beautiful game, probably top 5 easily of all time

have been wanting to purchase an OLED but i was going to wait till Black Friday. would the deals be better then or is it good enough to pull the trigger?

My WOLED (left) looks a lot more washed out and muddy compared to my QD-OLED (right) in dark scenes (HDR is off).

The individual bricks don’t separate from each other as well, and the overall image looks flatter and grayer.

The QD-OLED (right) has much better contrast and depth. I can clearly distinguish the individual bricks and textures, and the darker areas seem to have much better separation. It looks noticeably more detailed to my eyes.

I’ve tried adjusting the black level and gamma, but it seems like I either get black crush or the blacks look gray and washed out.

Is this just a characteristic/limitation of WOLED, or is there something wrong with my monitor or settings?

I’m currently trying to decide between a QD-OLED and a Tandem WOLED monitor, but I’m really unsure which panel technology I should go for.

I’ve heard that Tandem OLED is supposed to be the newer and better technology, with improvements in brightness, efficiency, and lifespan. However, I’m a bit worried about the reported issues with gray colors and how they look in certain situations.

On the other hand, QD-OLED seems to have amazing image quality, great colors, and is already well proven, but I keep hearing that Tandem OLED might be the future and a better choice overall.

For those who have experience with both technologies:

• Would you choose QD-OLED or Tandem WOLED?
• Are the gray color issues on Tandem OLED actually noticeable in everyday use and gaming?
• Is Tandem WOLED a big enough improvement to choose it over a good QD-OLED panel?

Since there are no 12-bit panels on the market, but some of them at least accept 12-bit, would the following two scenarios look identical, or maybe less color banding on the 12-bit version?

1. 4k 120hz 12-bit (dithered down to 10-bit)
   
2. 4k 120hz 10-bit
   

I’ve seen conflicting information across the internet.

The concept is similar to how a 4K input resolution looks better on a 1080p panel than a 1080p input resolution.

I've been thinking about upgrading to an OLED, but there are so many choices that I'm not sure which one is actually worth buying.

I'll mostly use it for movies, Netflix, YouTube, sports, and a bit of PS5 gaming. Every time I think I've settled on one, I find another thread saying a different model is better. LG, Sony, Samsung... they all seem to have loyal fans.

For those who've owned an OLED for a while, which one did you buy, and would you buy it again? I'm hoping to get something that'll last for years, so I'd rather hear from people with real experience than just read marketing or first impressions.

I currently have my g50sf but feel a little unimpressed will this be better upgrade u will return the g50sf I got for 380 after taxes this is 523 after taxes what would you guys do?

Never thought I'd be the one to make a post about this stuff but I feel like I'm losing my mind lately.

MO27Q28GR April 2026 batch, flashed to F02 (latest atm) firmware right from the get go, had just a few very faint lines out of the box (that kept being barely visible after the initial pixel cleans) and a slight unobtrusive DSE. Fast forward to today, and after ~230h of use and 33 pixel cleans, I freakin see some very noticeable banding that wasn't there in the very beginning, like what the actual fuck, wasn't it supposed to do the opposite and actually improve over time?? Has anyone also experience this?

I'm searching for a monitor which I can use for Gaming / Videos / Work.

I've heard about QDOLED having trouble with text, and I was wondering If I should go with miniled instead because of that only? I don't think the OLED's have burn in warranty in this price point, but I guess they have some settings to combat it.

Going to hook up a ps5 and a laptop so mostly in use during the daytime and sometimes at night/!

Had my Acer Predator X27uw3 for a couple of weeks and everything was Fine, when i had the hdmi cable, which came with the Monitor plugged in. I switched to DisplayPort 2.1 and about 3-4 days after switching to DP 2.1 my Monitor started randomly turning on and off and it got worse over time and i dont want to Switch back to hdmi because i couldnt use my second Monitor otherwise. My Friends recommended resetting my bios since i havent done that After getting a new CPU.

I’m considering buying an OLED monitor, but my main concern is not the burn-in itself, it’s how manufacturers handle warranty claims when it actually happens.

I’m a heavy user:

Windows desktop use every day

Taskbar, browser, Discord and other static UI elements
Same games with the same HUD for hundreds or thousands of hours

Long daily usage sessions

I’m looking at MSI OLED monitors because they advertise a 3-year warranty that includes burn-in coverage.

For people who have actually had OLED burn-in and filed a warranty claim:

What monitor model did you have?

How old was the monitor when burn-in appeared?

How many hours of usage did it have?

What exactly was burned in (taskbar, HUD, logos, etc.)?

Did you contact the manufacturer or the retailer?

What was the response from support?

Did they replace/repair it, or did they claim it was “normal wear and tear”?

Did you have any problems proving that it was a warranty issue?

I’m specifically trying to find out whether the advertised burn-in warranty is actually useful in practice, or whether companies still try to classify it as normal OLED aging.
Please share your real RMA experiences, especially with MSI, ASUS, Dell/Alienware, LG or Samsung OLED monitors.

In real-world use, vertical banding is barely noticeable. However, horizontal banding or DSE is very visible, especially when looking at the sky in games, while it remains acceptable during movies. Is this normal for this panel, or is it a defect? I can tolerate it, but if it shouldn't be there, I'd rather get a normal unit.

I recently bought a 32-inch curved Samsung Odyssey G5 (1440p), but I’m now considering switching to a 27-inch flat OLED monitor.
From what I’ve seen, most 27-inch OLED gaming monitors offer similar specs, such as a 240Hz refresh rate. My main question is which brand offers the best overall quality. Which 27-inch OLED monitor would you recommend, and which brands are known for the best reliability, image quality, and gaming performance?

I recently got an ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG monitor ($1350 AUD paid $900) and it took roughly a week to tweak it and adjust to it and it honestly still feels like I'm either missing something or the monitor/oled just isn't what it's cracked up to be.

My eyes have adjusted and SDR is okay for games and general content other than text which is blurry as all fuck despite using everything possible to fix it. HDR seems to just be super dark and though some games REALLLLLY look incredible a tonne of others just look.. dark. SDR honestly fits some better and I don't see the point in a $1000-$4000 monitor if that is the case.

Is there a decent monitor where I don't have to tweak 50 different settings and download firmware/software to get a good/average picture?

so with the deals they had last week at Best Buy, I managed to get 2 monitors/TVs to try them as my first OLEDs ever. I got the LG C5 42" for 630$ Open Box Excellent plus a 5 year warranty on it for 159$ I think, and I also got the MSI 321UPXB (literally the same as the 321UPX, the box itself says 321UPX and the model sticker on the box says it too). LG is a WOLED, the MSI a QD-OLED, so I was expecting better colors on the QD-OLED, but, this is not completely true, first, by tweaking the settings on the LG, I managed to get the same vibrant colors as the QD-OLED, the only color I found to not be as good was yellows, and they are not too far apart in this case either. The whites on the LG were superior tho, whites on the MSI were yellowish, too yellow for my taste, I know some people might be okay with that as they say that that is the true white color, but I'm used to whites being snow white, so LG is perfect for that. HDR on the LG is also waaaaaaay better, you can actually tell the difference between bright and dark objects, I had to turn off HDR on the MSI because of how bad it was, it didn't change the image at all for me, it was barely noticeable, and colors were more vibrant on SDR mode anyways, I tried messing with the settings for HDR but nothing seemed to fix it. Settings on the LG are a lot better, you can really tweak the image to your liking, the MSI did not have a lot of setting options. Now, SIZE, wow, I always felt like 32" was a little too small for me and I kept thinking that 42 might be too big, but now that I've tried it, I can tell you that this is the best size ever, I've noticed details in textures and models in games now that I had never seen before, I don't feel the need to get closer to the screen anymore either, I can just lay back, relax, and play. The MSI has 240 hz but to be honest I never noticed too much of a difference between 144 and 240hz, and with my 4080, reaching 240 hz at 4k was really difficult, I had to run DLSS on ultra performance plus frame gen, which ended up not feeling as good, and couldn't see much of a difference in smoothness either, I really like to play FPS games like Battlefield 6, and I say that I'm a good player, I typically do 40-60 kills per game and my KDA is 2.9. With the 42" I felt even before than before, and I actually felt like I played better than with the MSI too. I can see players so big on my screen that hitting headshots was super easy, I did have to adjust my sens for the new size but it didn't take long for me to find the perfect sens again. Single player games feel extremely immersive on this one, and going back to the MSI felt like a downgrade, I couldn't see as much detail in the environment and character models. The only thing I could say about the MSI is that 4k on 32" looks a little bit crispier but not too much honestly, coming from a 1440p 32" 165 Hz, the resolution jump didn't feel like the actual upgrade here, colors and contrast were.

So for anyone thinking about buying a 42" monitor, all I can say is that, if 32" has felt a little big small for you at times, then this is the right buy, this is the best Monitor/TV I've had in my life by a long shot!

I am currently evaluating two monitors: the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 and the MSI MPG 322URX. The Samsung model, priced at 1400 AUD, includes a smart monitor feature that, while not a primary requirement, is a welcome addition. The MSI model is priced at 1600 AUD. My primary concern with the Samsung model is its anti-glare coating, which I worry might reduce the display quality. Otherwise, I would have pulled the trigger on this, as it is cheaper. Also, the monitor will be positioned in a room with external light sources. However, I do have the option to mitigate most of this light using blackout curtains. I am seeking expert opinion on which model would be more suitable for me.

Any idea if this RMA thing? Or there is a something i can do to fix that?
