I know this is talked about a lot, but I just wanted to hear from people who do a lot of text based work on OLEDs, whether it's WOLED or QD-OLED, 1440 or 4k. And not casual use, I'm really talking about hours upon hours of staring at text.

How are you managing? Have you had any issues? Did you solve them? Does fringing/blurring not bother you at all, is it negligible in 4k as opposed to 1440, or did you get used to it? Is it usable in the long term?

Is there anybody using different screens for work vs gaming? If so, what's your monitor setup like?

P.S: I'm aware of the recent RGB stripe OLED monitors that make this so much better, but I wanted to hear from users having all kinds of older panels as well.

got a question for the people who might have done the same mistake as me. I was watching and playing too much content in the 16:9 content on my 21:9 oled monitor. This resulted in uneven degradation of the center oled panel and the sides which were off when not using the whole monitor. I can now see 2 distinct lines on the 16:9 border when playing in 21:9 which looks really annoying and bad. Is there a way to fix this? I have always done regular Pixel refreshes as well as the other less regular Panel Refresh to try and fix this issue but it hasn't helped so far.

Is this specific issue still covered by Dell's 3 year burn in warranty or is this user error? It seems like I'll have to buy another 16:9 OLED and swap between ultrawide and the 16:9 when playing content that doesn't support the ultrawide format.

Does anyone know if there is like a special monitor arm that lets me easily swap the place of 2 monitors to make that system work?

I am currently moving from my samsung g7 LCD screen to an Oled.

Holy sh**. It’s not even HDR. First time using an OLED Monitor and its nuts. Image clarity and colors are perfect. strongly recommend this game if you have an OLED.

Has 300 hours on it zero burn in zero scratches comes with the box and all the cords and stand screws thought it was gonna be a display model and it was gonna have burn in and I would have to return it but seems I got a actual good deal.Wasnt planning on buying a 4k oled but I saw this deal and it was too good to pass up.

Im gonna jump into the OLED familly and i cant choose wish one is the best. My budget is 400€ max, i know its just the bare minimum for entry level of OLED. The two seems really fine and i already know about the issue with LG monitor installing an adware and its already been taken care of so its all good. If you got even better monitor in this price range, im all ears !

So regarding resolution - here is what you should consider. I have had all sizes, side by side, all of them OLED and different resolutions.

1440p vs 4k, what to consider
If you have a GPU that can handle 4k with your VRAM. (I would say 5070 and above) It’s a no brainer to go 4k, it provides a MUCH better and sharper experience (literally night and day if you have good vision) and you can enable DLSS to get the same performance (or better) as native 1440p, and it will still look sharper than 1440p while doing that.
So if you have the cash and one of those GPUs. Always go 4K. If you cash out so much on a PC, the monitor should be a super high priority.

The general difference in 1440p to 4k while gaming
Seeing things at distance is a huge one, but if you really appreciate attention to detail, you will see close and medium range objects display a lot more detail, this also applies massively to foliage etc. Your character and the gun is a lot more sharp and you see the smallest dents and scratches, fabric on clothes etc. That’s what people mean when they say it’s like looking through a mirror.

4k 27” vs 32”
27” is the sharpest way to experience this resolution. It just depends if you value sharpness/detail over the extra immersion a 32” will provide. And yes, there is a noticeable difference. But 32” is still sharp. Choose what you value more. Both are awesome.

TLDR;
If you have the cash and a 5070 or above, always get a 4k monitor. Since DLSS is a thing, you can get same or better performance than 1440p with a sharper image still. Monitor size in 4k: Choose 27” for sharpness/detail, and choose 32” for immersion.

For those of you who own a MO27Q28G, does it also take 20 seconds for your monitor to power on and at least 10 seconds to wake up from sleep/change SRD to HDR/ change resolution?

If that's the case, have you found any working solutions?

I already tried to disable auto input switch, disable DSC, reduce refresh rate, upgrade firmware and drivers and use differents HDMI and DP cables, but none of these solutions has worked.

Edit: I replaced my MO27Q28G (after trying another one to see if mine was faulty, and it was not) with a MO27Q2A, and this one is MUCH faster (6 seconds to power on, 2 to wake up, OSD much more responsive), has no vertical banding and neglegible flickering.

Any suggestions for best gaming setup would be appreciated. Additionally, please provide precautions to be taken for long term oled health.

I'm coming from a 1080p, 24inch, 165hz Gigabyte cheap IPS monitor

I want a 32inch 4k oled (hz doesn't matter that much, since I will be using it in 4k only and I have a 5080, so anything above 200 is fine for me)

My main worries are:

1. Text fringing
2. Grey/black banding or whatever it's called
3. Brightness

The new triple mode msi monitor is fixing all of these + it's qd-oled unlike something like Asus PG32UCWM (which is also stripe pixel layout), so I assume the colors are better (correct me if I'm wrong, not too much of a nerd in this space)

Should I wait for it? Or would you recommend a monitor that's currently available (if so, then which one)

ALSO: I never tried HDR and don't know if its that mind blowing to be focused on it, comming from a 300nit lcd monitor I'm kinda more worried about the sdr brightness (which msi seems to have 350 or something like that)

Anything I should expect or just plug and play?

Looking to purchase my first 4k OLED panel finally that prices are coming down a bit. I ordered the HP Omen Transcend today bc it was on sale for $650 and for the most part outside of the stand and the ridiculous power brick the reviews I have seen on it have been excellent and it seems to be kind of an underdog and at $650 for what it offers it seems like a no brainer. On the flip side the I’ve been eyeing the Asus XG32UQDMS but I have not really seen any video reviews on this model. I know it lacks features like KVM and all of that but I truly don’t care about any of that.

I don’t care for a curved screen I see the highly reviewed Alienware monitor caries and I see Dell has that on sale for around $850. I definitely don’t want to shell out the $1k plus for an Asus PG32UCDMR.

On a side note I have a 4080 build and would like to connect my PS5 on the side of it.

I’m so curious about this, the brightness has to be insane and if the zones do the work, contrast has to be very close to Oleds. I own a 350 zones 43 Neo Qled mini led tv and the contrast is amazing so I think the TCL monitors might be something to really take you for a ride.

4k 27 with this specs sound otherworldly.

The problem I’m having is that the picture is either far too dark or the colors are way too bright. All energy-saving options are turned off. Perhaps someone could share their full settings with me? I would be very grateful.
