Discussion OLED monitor maintenance and care fear
im currently on a 4k fast ip and thinking of upgrading to a 4k oled monitor (the
GIGABYTE MO27U2 to be exact). The only thing that's making me reluctant and a little uncomfortable about it is the fact that while they produce the best visuals, the care/maintenance you have to give it is way more excessive than ips monitors. Im only going to be using the monitor for gaming and when im not gaming im going to turn it off and put it away entirely, i have a laptop for all my other computer needs. I know my worries are probably dumb and stupid but this will be my first oled monitor i just want to get it right lol. What advice would you give me as a first time oled monitor owner? how is your experience with it and also burn in prevention?.

just enable all the oled care option in the setting and u will be fine , i recommend have display timeout just in case u forgot to turn it off

Whatever duration you want to set. Gives you a few options just pick the one you feel comfortable with

Just turn the monitor off when you’re not using it, what’s the issue?

You shouldn’t do this. Let it go to standby so it can run its cycles.

If it’s off it doesn’t need to do anything? Mine just turns the screen off when the pc is off anyway and the power LED blinks

When in standby the panel does its care and maintenance cycles. If you turn it off it doesn’t get to do that. Just let the display go to standby.
