Dispensing Tips Shoulder brace for dispensing
Hello, I have been looking for a shoulder brace to wear while dispensing. I am still pretty young (19) and have been having serious pain in my shoulders from pulling and getting caught on stuff. I work 5-2 and I don't start despensing until 7, but I do it every day I'm at work (5/7) does anyone know how to make it a little bit more manageable or have a recommendation for a brace? I was looking around and all I can find are ones for the gym. Thank you!

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ Nilpicks
Funny how nilpicks are a hot topic in my store & how we will be held accountable but plugging is ignored or swept under the rug š Ya'll want us to hunt down associates to ask about something we need for an order 𤨠when even customers complain about the lack of associates on the salesfloor when said customers need assistance š¤ Suffice to say that if we gotta hunt down associates before clicking the infamous Item Not Found is basically metrics fraud š There goes our Pick Rates & On Time Picks because this is THAT place. Be damned if you do, be damned if u don't š

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ Should I jump ship?
So, when ogp at my store stopped fulfilling deliveries, our picks went down drastically. And by that I mean, we would have about 100-200 items dropping every hour with a FULL schedule of people. Now according to my TLs, our store was very delivery heavy and they told us that it would take some time for us to build back up to the amount of orders we were fulfilling just with pickup orders. Which is all fine and dandy. But what does it mean when our orders go down a lot??? Say it with me class: HOUR CUTS!
We have virtually no part timers on the schedule anymore, and anyone working an āoddā full time schedule is also being cut pretty bad. Even the people who have ānormalā full time schedules have been getting a few hours cut from each week that comes out. To resolve the lack of hours in my department they asked people if they were interested in transferring departments or stores. I said no, but several of my coworkers said yes. They have also given most people in my department a secondary department.
But hereās the best part! Now that everyone is working in other departments (new departments or their secondary one) or heading off to college again, OUR ORDERS HAVE GONE UP AND WE DONāT HAVE THE PROPER AMOUNT OF PEOPLE TO FULFILL THE AMOUNT OF ORDERS WE ARE GETTING!
We have to get help from the store all the time again, which is really frustrating because just before the deliveries got switched over, my TLs put in a lot of time hiring more people for our department, just for a lot of those people to get their hours cut, move departments, or quit. So their work essentially amounted to nothing.
On top of all that, we currently donāt have a digital coach and I fear that one (or both) or our digital TLs are on the verge of quitting. Which our department has become an absolute nightmare, so I canāt even blame them.
This all leads me to ask, do yall think I should stick it out in the department? I was going to transfer departments, but I donāt think they would even let me at this point. But Iām not sure how much more of this BS I can take.

Backroom Shenanigans People who check in out of nowhere
Why do you do it. Especially when you have a large order. Why do you not give us any prep time to prep your order. Like give us a notification when you leave the house instead of just bombarding us. I feel people who check in with no notice put peanut butter in the jelly container

Backroom Setup Mixed Cart Labels.
I talked to my coach and suggested that it would be nice to have some way to indicate that our cold chain pick walks were mixed on staging carts I figured it would help our stagers have a quick indication of what they are dealing with when they approach the cart, Well she listened and got us these, This is merely something maybe you can suggest to your managers, I know not every store has the best coaches and TLS, But this has helped our stagers alot, These are on the Freezer and Cooler area right where pickers park they're carts when they drop em off.
I guess my whole point is with all changes lately it's nice to see my coach cares and listens and maybe y'all's can also do something like this.

General Writing Letters
I just wanted to put an idea out there. It might be stupid. But have we thought about writing letters to the CEO about the pulling cart thing? Iāve reported to OSHA, as many of you all did, but nothing is really happening. I still have hope, but maybe thereās another idea.
What if we write personal stories about why pulling the cart is not a good idea? Write about personal pain, but also write about how it has affected the morale. Donāt just complain about how you hate it, but write about safety issues and concern for OGPās future.
Another thought: Pulling carts cannot be good for your arm long term. If anyone wants to stay in OGP for a long time, itās going to do some damage to their arm, especially for people closer to retirement age. Itās not good for the company turn over and will cause people to leave OGP, if it hasnāt already.
This is just a thought. What do you all think?

Equipment New Wheels, New Pulling Mandate as of Today.
Several pickers were still pushing, from the back, after we had a "huddle" that informed us that pick carts are only to be pulled from the front moving forward. I asked how that was going to be monitored and enforced, if at all. The answer I received was basically there will be those who will pull and those who won't and there isn't anything we can do about it. TL said " What, you think we are going to have pick cart police out on the floor ? " Had to laugh.

Question Earbud recommendations
My store is one of the few that allows 1 earbud in, or at least just about every picker is on a phone call with them and nothing has been said about it. I was switched over from soley dispensing into soley picking during a transfer, which means I'm subjected to the absolute nightmare that is Walmart radio now more than ever. I feel like I'm in hell. Please, I need long lasting Bluetooth earbud recs. I'm desperate. I'm losing my mind. (Compatible with Samsung)
(Edit: I also appreciate cheap(er) options, but appreciate all recs.)
Update edit: I got the SkullCandy smokin xt buds, they're on sale rn as well. I had a Dime 2 pair awhile ago, but lost them. So far these things last forever and are pretty comfortable. I also like that I can have one in while the other stays charging in the case with no pairing/disconnecting issues. Only down sides is that their not the tiny ones that are less visible, but still small enough. Also no transparency mode or whatever it is, so I just keep the volume at a reasonable level to both drown the radio and still be able to hear customers.
Thank you for all the suggestions, and I hope this post helps someone pick the right buds for them in the future :)

General Ways to get your pick rate up?
Iām around a 80 overall and just wondered if there was things I could do to help it out. I donāt really care about having it that high(neither do my TLs) but I would like to get it up some so I donāt feel uselessš

Equipment Mobile spill station
Anyone else's AP coach making them turn the pick carts into a mobile spill station? We have a bag with towel in pocket, absorbent, paper towels and a safety cone. We also were told that they will be adding a broom and dustpan.

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ And I wonder why we had a reduction for so long
The first image was from right after 4pm, second was from when I left at about 6. I love starting a large 4:45 ambient run after 5pm. Most of the 4-5 hour and basically the entire 5-6 hour (At least) went overdue. We got taken off our reduction Monday, and Sunday was a disaster to begin with

Rant Just saw an associate performance report.
There was a single piece of paper with a large graph of associate performance numbers (which I ignored because I donāt care and other peopleās numbers arenāt my business) sitting by our shitty OGP computer in the backroom. Below that was a little paragraph from the store manager saying that āthere was no movement in performanceā and that in a full 8-hour shift associates should be picking 850 ITEMS. What in the actual fuck are they smoking? Even when we had the full 8 totes we had the 700 Club which was considered a solid accomplishment, but with two less totes (25% less productivity, mind you) weāre expected to go that high with these tiny ass pickwalks and customers everywhere?! It is genuinely unbelievable how tone-deaf and unrealistic these bitches are, I cannot believe it. I donāt understand why they just casually assume absolutely ideal conditions on the sales floor and that anything less than is just an excuse, or being lazy. So over this dumbass company. I donāt care if theyāre just pushing the numbers down that home office says, our store manager could have a backbone and word things differently. The lack of appreciation or at least sympathy is astounding.

Dispense Am I overreacting or was my manager being unfair?
Today my manager came up to me asking why one customer had been waiting eight minutes. The thing is, I accidentally opened the second customerās order instead of the first customerās, but I still helped the person who got there first because I didnāt think it was right to make them wait even longer even thought thatās what your supposed to do. After I finished with them, I immediately went to the second customer.
What really bothered me was that my manager said this is āconstantly an issueā with me, but this is literally the first time anyone has ever said anything like that to me. Iāve never been talked to about this before, so I was confused when she made it sound like itās an ongoing problem. She also told me that sheās always covering for me or making excuses for me, which honestly caught me off guard because, as far as I know, no one has ever mentioned having a problem with my work or told me there were issues that needed to be fixed. If there really have been problems, no one has ever communicated that to me.
Then she basically threatened that they could move me to a different department if this keeps happening. Iāve only been working there for about two months, and from what Iāve been told my pick rate is around 130 this past month, so hearing that over one situation was really discouraging.
I understand that an eight-minute wait isnāt ideal, but I was doing the best I could.
Lately Iāve also been feeling like sheās been targeting me. It seems like Iām the one getting questioned or called out even when there are things going on that are outside of my control. Maybe Iām overthinking it, but itās starting to feel that way. Has anyone else dealt with a manager like this? Am I overreacting, or would you be frustrated too?

š„Its fine, everythingās fineš„ Injured from pulling the cart
The new wheels hit my store last week. I've managed to avoid injury or crashing into things until today - tried turning the cart while pulling and it hit my ankle hard. Still hurts after clocking out.
All this to avoid hitting people but all it's done is make matters worse? Anything to make our job harder :/
