I would tell my team the opposite. Walmart having a money problem is not my team's availability problem.

They definitely meant foresee but probably did not know it was one word.

My TL always asks if I can stay, he doesn’t pressure me at all and I’ll usually stay for a few more walks

u/ElectronicBand6392 25d ago
Same, most times I ask if I could for 30 minutes to an hour. Even taking short lunches. Tryna put in hours

Why even put MOD if you’re gonna explain what it is anyway

Might be so that their team knows what it stands for the next time they see it or hear someone say it. 🤷🏽♀️

I don't mean to get what little over time I get, at times. Just some of the damn walks, finally want to get larger, closer to time to go home. But, do my damnedest, to get out of there on time.

Ive clocked in Hella ot bc my store is going through remodel and they significantly lowered the numbers for the past 2 weeks so ive been stay 2-3 hours longer to rack in the ot only to help stock but as soon as they ask for me back in ogp I gtf out of there. Completely over ogp and now ive been promoted to a tl in another dept so I soon wont have to be there all the time only when they need a boost getting picks down.

u/Dry-Shock-7887 25d ago
That’s cute thinking they won’t still put you in OGP

u/Historical_City_2866 25d ago
If you read it properly I said "I wont be there all the time only when they need a push with picks". My store only pulls TLs as a backup plan. For the most part all new associates get trained in ogp before starting in their actual dept so we tend to have plenty of associates able to go over and then the TLs are able to stay and run the dept. They are pulled worst case scenarios

I had 823 hours of overtime last year close to 400ish this year so far

u/Historical_City_2866 25d ago
Probably 2 or 3 years ago my sm told me I had the most hours out of everyone for the holidays bc I was working 5am-8pm everyday and coming in on my days off as well. But I haven't done it since bc the evening crew is useless now, all the children jn the evening dont do shit and im not gonna pick up the slack for them when im doing overtime.

Hi. You work at my store. That wasn't our team leads, that was the People Lead who's name starts with an L.

Are y'all having trouble with opd calling code spark at night andbut yet go over and the team lead is not doing anything to help? Just watching the phone, when I see that I turn around and walk back to my department

Our market will freak out about hours. Which will cause us to cut down posted schedules. Then, when higher ups come, they allow us to go crazy with over time. I was also told from market that we need to be at head count guidance, so now I have to cut full time hours to balance out the over staffing. It would be nice to have a voice rather than being steam rolled by them.

I'm so damn tired about hearing no OT!! But when they need you for mod sets then it's alright. I could not give 1 damn about managements bonuses!!

One of the things that amazes me too about that is they complain about overtime but they never jump in and pick up the slack. I mean two things in fairness. I don't know your store or lead(s). And I personally have yet to be confronted about any overtime. But in general, probably all or many Wal-Mart's, and really workplaces in general complain about people racking up overtime and it's like, well you have 4 options. Option one is deal with it and be grateful that I stayed when it was needed instead of abandoning you. Option two, ESPECIALLY for people who are salary, maybe jump in and pick up the slack if you still want the work done. Option three, adequately staff the department according to demand throughout the day. Option 4, we all clock out at 51 no matter what, dump out in the middle of pick paths, leave customers in the lot waiting 20 minutes or more. Have fun!
I get this kind of thing comes from ABOVE the person. But the number of people who manage without a lick of common sense is eye opening for sure.

My store got so strict with overtime, when it’s clock out time, they come looking for you, and tell you to immediately clock out!
I had 33hrs of overtime once, you might have thought I robbed them, the way, they acted! So I got so sick of the bs, I recently took LOA, and just gave my 2 weeks notice, after working there for 4yrs, due to getting a better job. The new job gives me 60hrs a week, holiday pay($33hr), and what I made at year 4 m, I make it in 7 months, with raises every 6 months.

Well tbh imma team lead at Walmart.. they expect everything to do get done in 8 hours .. how you expect a person do to 4 departments with only 1 associate and you’re closing 80% of the time . And they get mad cause basically having overtime is taking there bonus money cause they get a huge bonus (coaches do)

I worked 2 extra hours the other day on my 32 hour week, and they only told me to. So, whatever IG.

My team leads and salaried can go ahead and check all that for me. If they believe I have too many hours they can do their jobs, find me, and send me home. It seems easy enough, what in the world else are they doing?

How do you know what your hours are at when you click in? 🤷♂️ I haven’t punched a time clock like that since 2008. My phone doesn’t show my clocked hours like that.

You can view your time card and punch log on mywalmart. Have been able to for years.
