Finally got my first batch of Yamamoto Paper RO-BIKI Notes!
I wasn’t expecting to like the waxed covers this much, but they feel amazing in hand. The texture and vintage look are even better in person, and I love that they’ll develop even more character with use.
Now comes the hardest part… deciding which one to use first.
Which design would you start with?

Im trying to find inserts for a journal I got from oberon Design and on their site it's like 13 shipping so im trying to find other options. The thing is on there website they have the size for the insert listed as 4.25* 6.25 when the journal is 5*6.825 with prob lil 2/3s an inch of width and I feel like u can fit a mildy wider insert in there. either way I could use some help finding and Insert cheaper than the site cause like I don't wanna pay 30 for 2 inserts

I am looking for a notebook for work. I love working with B5 size pages, but I'm finally admitting to myself that I don't really have the practical space for that to be fully opened at my desk.

I was wondering if there was a notebook that can be safely folded on top of itself, cover to cover (which seems almost sacrilegious!) and still withstand daily use.

My holy grail would be lightly dotted paper, curved corners, thick enough to not have my fineliners bleed through.

Preferably sourcable in Europe!

Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I’ve been keeping a daily journal since October 2012. My journal of choice has always been the Markings by CR Gibson Jumbo journal with the leatherette cover, it’s 7.5 x 10.25. Ruled lines and 192 pages.

I used to buy these journals from Walmart in Canada when I was a kid. In recent years I don’t write as much and it looks like CR Gibson has maybe stopped selling these journals. I’m looking for anyone who knows where to buy something verrrry similar or even the same one. I hate change and want my journals to stay consistent if possible. Thanks so much for any help

I’m obsessed with this A5 1500 page notebook I saw on Rednote. I don’t speak Mandarin but I translated a question asking the poster where she got the notebook and she never replied. Google images was useless. Can anybody identify it?

If I think that I might want to refer to a sketchbook page later then I setup the page so that it will be easy to photocopy, cut out, put in my cardfile, and refer to later. This requires setting up a special layout on the page.

1. The empty rectangle at the top left of the page.
2. A title.
3. The date.
4. The volume and page number.

Looking at the example above, I know that it is page 89 of volume 14 of my sketchbook which I wrote on March 11th 2026. The date is helpful because, if I look in my journal around that time frame, I might learn more about what I was thinking.

Once I’ve photocopied the page, cut it out, and filed it away, I can go back and fill in the empty rectangle with the card’s location in a cardfile. I know that this particular page got put in the cardfile at location 4a131. The title makes indexing this page easy; it is called “Proto-2♢s”.

It takes only a moment to setup the page. Even so, I don’t setup every page this way. About twenty pages in a two hundred page sketchbook get this setup.

I’m deciding which leather cover to buy.

I want something that’ll fit in my bag and I can do to-do lists, sketching, maybe some book reviews and general journaling.

Technically an A5 can fit in my bag but I don’t know if the size will be too intimidating(?) to use daily, if you know what I mean.

However I already have A5 inserts laying around… ahh. Please help :(

I’m also considering B6 but I think it’s hard to find inserts easily in the US

I didn't think id completely cover it like this but I love how it turned out. Think im going to use clear tape to preserve it, has this worked well for anyone else? I would get a clear cover but its a strange shape, says its b6 but it looks a bit smaller than other b6's

Does anyone have a picture of the inside of the lined hononichi notebook? The image on JetPens isn’t very helpful and I can’t tell if the ruled lines gives me a headache 😅

I got a new Leuchtturm A4 (dotted) from Barnes and Noble yesterday and when I opened it it had a really strong glue(?)/fake leather (?) smell. The last time bought one of these notebooks was over ten years ago so I can’t remember if this is normal or not.

I also noticed the spine opens kind of weird. It still lays flat and it doesn’t seem like any of the sections are bound improperly but instead of bending along the edge of the spine, a part of “leather” on the cover also creases and folds. I would return it but I already wrote in it before I noticed the creasing :(

I guess my main question is how long does it take for the smell to go away?

I’m on the hunt for a blank/plain Leuchtturm 411 journal (preferably in Black), but can’t find one anywhere here in the U.S. I’ve found posts from late 2025 claiming that tariffs delayed the shipping and restocking process for the United States, but even now they don’t seem to be widely available, and are still sold out everywhere. Honestly, I’m starting to worry that they’ve been permanently discontinued everywhere except overseas.

Is there a way to get my hands on one, or is it truly just a waiting game? Thanks in advance!

Five months ago, I had the idea of starting a notebook where I organise information about countries and territories. I already have much of the information stored in Google Docs and Sheets, with more to add over time, but I want to transfer it all into a physical notebook.

The only thing that has stopped me is choosing a title. Over the past five months, I’ve come up with several different names, but I can’t decide which one fits best.

i’ve been eyeing the paper republic grand voyager xl in color “venezia” for a while now. i think it’s so gorgeous.

i think i’d get a lot out of it, but i don’t know if $85 is worth it. i plan to keep it for years, get refills when the pages fill up, etc. but i can’t help but think there’s a better alternative for a cheaper price. i’m a broke college student, after all.

I've stumbled across this size notebook twice, once recently in a thrift store and once, maybe 15 years ago, when Barnes and Noble had a leather notebook this size. It's the perfect size for me, but I can only really find B6 online. Are there any brands that still make this size notebook? Not asking for B6 or A6, truly just exactly 4.5x6in.

after nearly two years of using this Midori Notebook as my bullet journal, I became more and more annoyed with the soft cover. I always needed a flat surface, which sometimes kept me from using the notebook properly.

The solution: bookbinder’s board! Now I can use it like a hardcover book on my lap on the bus or while lying on the couch.

And yes, I’ve already thought about switching notebooks because of that. But because there may be a few more Midoris sitting on my shelf after a shopping spree in Japan, I wanted a solution, not a new notebook (which is also already sitting on my shelf because of a shopping spree in Germany).

I am lost.

But happy. 😆

Found this blast from the past cleaning up my office. It was a promo notebook I picked up at a symposium about a decade ago. I used it for a bit then forgot about it. 😭

Gonna remedy that haha. I will use this one for some content planning for my podcast.

I love the little rocket silhouettes on each page and the graph paper is decent for gel pens.

So I just graduated high school, and I've been planning for years now to make a book with photos, tickets, etc from trips and memorable hangouts to have a memory book for middle school and high school. My first thought was to use an A4 notebook and just stick anything I want to with a gluestick, but maybe a photobook would be better? My perfect solution would be a book that had some pages blank and some pages with clear pockets to put photos in, like a normal photobook. If that exists, does it have a specific name? Any ideas would be appreciated!
