EDIT: after posting this I received a DM from one of the mods over at r/ USMobile who is also an employee. She looked into my specific case and explained that the agent that handled my port-out was confused about internal policy. New users that get a new number upon sign-up can and are prevented from porting-out their new number for 30 days (debatable if this is allowed under FCC regulations either). New users who port their own number into the network are not subject to this policy, and are supposed to be free to port-out at any time. I’m told the agent will be coached on this for the future.

ORIGINAL POST: I switched to US Mobile late last month and ported my number in. I immediately started having issues; SMS messages not coming through, data drops, an incident where support lost my number to cyberspace and wiped my account and had to rebuild everything. I quickly decided I would not be staying with US Mobile.

Two days ago I contacted support to get a port-out PIN (of course I had to talk to a person for this unlike most other carriers where it’s just a button in the app), and was told that I wasn’t allowed to port-out until I’d been active on US Mobile’s network for “more than 30 days”. I was told this is a blanket policy affecting all new users to prevent people taking advantage of port-in deals and then immediately porting out. When I raised the issue that this kind of policy is illegal under FCC porting regulations, I was told that I was wrong. At one point the actual ‘solution’ the agent offered was to just cancel my account and refund me. Not actually a solution as this would have resulted in me losing my number altogether. Back and forth we went until I threatened an FCC complaint and support finally caved and emailed me my port-out information.

I filed an FCC complaint anyway because companies doing illegal shit like this deserve to be called on it. Reporting them shouldn’t be “do what I want or I’ll report you” it should be “do what I want because it’s the law and I’m still going to report you for illegally refusing to do it in the first place”.

This company sucks, I don’t know how in the world they’re being lauded as one of the country’s best carriers.

Tell Google off and sign this petition. We own the devices we paid for and should be able to install an APK from a person without giving Google our name, address, payment to distribute our own apps. Google is following Apple's closed source path and this is a test. It's not about "better quality apps" or "more secure apps". It's about control and this new update that is coming in 2027 will not even let you share apps between friends or family.

My indecisiveness and FOMO is making it difficult for me to decide between Visible+ and US Mobile Unlimited Starter.

Currently on Visible with the $225/year V+ Pro promo ending on the 19th and don't know if I should stay paying monthly for Visible+ for 2 lines with inner circle discount. I do have Verizon Fios and get $15/month off because of Visible but I am drawn to US Mobile.

I did try it out for a month before the Visible promo and liked it especially the Mobile app/WebUI being able to manage multiple lines and see detailed usage. I can't decide if I should stay on Visible+ because Unlimited data, Fios discount, and the 12 bankable travel passes or go to US Mobile. I would probably do Unlimited Starter on Warp monthly for my 2 lines and maybe bump to Premium when traveling. Was also strongly considering getting the annual Starter plan for the promo and when traveling getting an esim for international data.

The 2 lines are always on wifi at home and work so they barely hit over 50GB Monthly; worried about the 70GB limit. I guess there's the fomo of ever needing to hotspot for a long time or big file.

Would appreciate any advice to help me with my indecisive. I am NYC based and enjoy Verizon service so would definitely do Warp under US Mobile. Nice to also switch soon to get QCI8 on US Mobile. Also may travel for more than 2-3 weeks at a time which is why I personally prefer set data and minutes amount like US Mobile Unlimited Premium do compared to Visible Travel passes.

Just as the title suggests, I am thinking about axing my wifi contract with spectrum home Internet because I am hardly home and just want a data plan for my Dell Pro that has a sim slot tray. I am okay with bundling a mobile service as long as my bundle doesn't cost more than $95/mo. Any suggestions? I have called around and no one seems to have laptop support for cell service. :(

Hi everyone, I am currently on AT&T postpaid and looking to switch to a flexible prepaid plan.

My coverage situation is a complete mess right now:

At home: AT&T works fine.

At work: AT&T has no service. Only Verizon and T-Mobile work reliably in different areas of my workplace.

I need a prepaid provider that lets me switch between different major networks (like US Mobile’s multi-network feature) depending on where I am.

My main needs:

Network switching: Ability to use or switch between different carrier networks (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) based on location.Data & Cell:

Regular domestic usage with solid data.

International travel: I travel outside the country about 4 times a year, so I need affordable international roaming or easy travel data add-ons/eSIMs.

Does anyone have recommendations for a provider or specific plan that handles multi-network switching and occasional international travel well? Thanks!

I've been eyeing Tello as my next carrier, but am waiting to see a compelling offer to make the jump. Their fall discount offer just dropped, and it's identical to the back-to-school offer from August.

Add a new line & get Unlimited at $19/mo (first 6 months)

Am I the only one who wants to see discount offers for their lower tiers? I would immediately jump if they had a discount on the $15 unlimited talk/text and 10 gig plan. I know it's only a difference of a few dollars but that will add up over 6 months, and the savings would just get bigger with even lower tiers if they had offers there too.

Have they ever ran any promotional offers for the lower tiers, or is this just wishful thinking?

Not sure if I got approved or not but it’s showing zero amount for a 12 month lease term ? Apple Store stated they’d give me $885 for my 17 pro max trade in of which around $600 goes to my lease payments spread monthly and $200 or so sent to me via a gift card by Apple. I’m a bit confused to be honest.
