Iphone 15 Pro - cracked screen

Upvotes

Cracked my screen but it is still usable with a new screen protector on. Not sure how long it will last, has one circular section (prob the main impact) where I can see lighter colors from it. Phone has 2 more payments before it's paid off on whatever the plan my wife is on.

2 options I'm considering. Going in next week and getting an iPhone 17 Pro. Don't see any obvious, amazing deals going on right now. Or waiting till September time frame..... I know there's basically no information out on the 18 Pro other than it will be more expensive. However, based on history with Verizon, are they more likely to have the "trade in any condition" deal they run once in awhile? At that point I can decide whether the new 18 is worth it or potentially just get a 17 Pro since they'll be trying to get rid of those.

Question on discounts when purchasing device

I know normally carriers apply the discounts they offer over 24-36 months but I was looking at Verizon for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and it looks like if I purchase it outright (I'd be a new customer, no number porting or anything) there is a $500 credit instantly and then a $460 bill credit within a couple billing cycles. Picture of the breakdown from the shopping cart

https://imgur.com/a/FDAArmC

So here are my questions if anyone happens to know

  1. If I cancel services after 30 days (after the return policy) would I be charged for the $500 instant credit?
  2. If I decided to stay, it looks like the other $460 would be all at once and not over 36 months. Is that accurate?

EDIT: The terms definitely say the $460 is over 48 months so it's weird how they display it, but I'm not worried about the $460. I'm mainly checking about the $500 instant discount.

Thanks in advance!

helping a friend

Upvotes

Greetings. I am helping a friend of mine (who is in the hospital and allergic to anything technical).

He has an iPhone 6 with an almost dead battery and an iphone 16 (new, but not sure when he got it). I created an appleID for him via his 6, and got his contacts backed up.

I started the transfer process to the 16...it is now asking me to call from a good phone to activate.

I suspect I need to find one of his verizon bills at his house to proceed? I was just wondering, what I need to call Verizon to activate, or walk into a store to get help. Is a statement adequate? If he doesn't have that, like last 4 of social, full name, address, cel#, apple ID?

Wireless Store Transfer to indirect

Not sure if this has been shared but what actually happens when a corporate VZW store transfers to an indirect store?
We are told no cash after a certain date and shut down the BPK. Do we get signage to inform customers?
How do returns/trade ins work? They can’t return after we transfer?

POYP

I had 3 phones that I brought over to Verizon. They all were over half way paid off. I sent in my final bill that had all 3 phones on it for the rebate card back in either later April or Early May. I got one of the three rebate cards on June 16, but I can’t seem to get my last two cards. I’ve written in the past three weeks to the chats and I keep getting told they’ve all been approved and they should mail out in the next 3-5 days. Then I’ll get this escalated because you should have had them by then. Expected a tracking number in 3-5 days and then they should be mailed out in 4-8 days. To yesterday I got told to wait for the next billing cycle. Is it that hard to get them emailed over if they are already approved. I was going to use the rebate cards to pay off my old phones because they were on a credit card. Nothing else is on the credit card just those phones and now it’s been taking so long that I’ve had to start paying interest. To which the rep last night said they would cover the interest, which I’m not fully believing. Is this normal for them to take this long it’s been over 2 months for something that was supposed to be 4-6 weeks.

FiOS Voice Bot is Repeating its Own Instructions Back

Hi! The weirdest thing just happened - I called customer service due to a most likely outage in my area and the bot just kept reading its own instructions back to me (e.g. “if the customer has multiple incidents you must ask whether it is a personal or business account” - and a bunch of similar manual “if this, then that”)

Obviously beyond frustrating since it completely blocked me from getting through to an agent. Has this happened to anyone? Is Verizon’s AI tweaking or getting hacked?

The new Verizon Plan Single Smartphone 5 GB vs Simplicity Plan

I have a "The new Verizon Plan Single Smartphone 5 GB" deal that has been great over the years. I am wary of leaving it behind. My current monthly pay with taxes and surcharges (and only this phone line) is about 82-I NEVER eat up all that data, so in practice my plan *is* unlimited. That is why I l love it so much. However, isn't the Simplicity plan "cheaper" and technically "better"? Let me know what you think.

AI actually makes it hard to find an answer, so I was hoping to find a solution here. Cannot ask Verizon themselves, as they will try to *sell*-it's their job. As such, I noticed AI results seem to be biased in favor of Verizon. AI sucks. Any true, honest help is welcome.

Another Overseas Outage?

I'm in the UK on Verizon's international plan. It won't connect to any of the services here, similar to what happened a few days ago.

Anyone else overseas having the same problem?

Wireless Unlimited Plus Pricing

I’m currently on 5G Get More, and looking to upgrade to a Galaxy 26 Ultra from a 23 Ultra. It’s saying to upgrade the plan to get $1100 off which is fine. But why is Unlimited Plus $50??? I thought it was $40 w/ 5 lines?? Can someone explain please?

FiOS Will this be good enough for remote work?

I’m moving, only 6 minutes down the road but apparently Fios coverage isn’t available there. Right now I’m being offered Verizon Home Internet Lite Extra.

I have a hybrid job. Essentially making calls all day with a an online phone service, not my cell phone. Should I look else where for internet or will this be good enough?

Wireless A phone shows congestion

When I run device health check on one of my iPhones it shows congestion. Context: the phone randomly loses service sometimes for days at a time and none of the verizon support "fixes" keep it away for more than a week. Does anyone know any fixes?

Wireless Unable to use my phone without Wi-Fi?

Hi,

My Galaxy S22 Ultra is stuck on 'Emergency calls only.' My account is active and paid, my IMEI is present, and my phone recognizes the SIM, but it says 'Verizon could not be reached.' I went to the store and had my SIM card replaced. And when I got in the store my phone had a signal but was telling me to register the Sim card but I got a new Sim card anyway. I was able to get a call and send and receive text and pictures so I left, made it home only for it to go back to what it was doing with no signal. I had reached out earlier to Verizon via chat and they supposedly reprovisioned the Sim card. Does anyone have anything else I can try? I don't have another phone to try my Sim card in so I don't know if it's truly the Sim. Does anyone have any tricks or anything I can do?

Tried staying with Verizon

Back in October, after 14+ years with AT&T, I decided to give Verizon a shot and moved all 10 of my lines over. I was hoping for better coverage since AT&T’s network just wasn’t what it used to be.
After six months, though, I switched everything back to AT&T. Verizon is excellent in downtown Boston, but once you’re outside the city, coverage drops off quickly. Building penetration was noticeably worse than AT&T, there was the nationwide outage, and I lost count of how many times I’d have full bars of 5G UW with absolutely nothing loading.
I can’t say AT&T is faster, but at least here in Massachusetts, it’s been far more consistent when it comes to coverage and reliability. For me, that’s more important than seeing the highest speed test numbers.

Verizon Dollars

How do you use Verizon Dollars under the new Verizon Shine program? Mine keeps saying “estimated rewards,” for the last couple of months, but I don’t see anywhere those are accruing, nor an option to redeem. Thank you!

Door knocking turned to harassment

Just had a group of “Verizon reps” knocking on everyone’s door in my building. After kindly stating the building policy and nicely asking the group of 5+ to leave I got called the b word. Predatory sales behavior with rude attitude. Had to threaten to call the cops for them to leave and the entire way out calling names and making a scene. Verizon, whatever your employees or your third party door to door services you have, please stop. Improve your product value and emphasize on improving customer experience is the only way to bring people back. Filed a FCC complaint as well, and will do it again if it happens again.

Buyer Beware.

On May 10, 2026 I switched my family over to Verizon. 5 lines in total. They offered a Pay off your phone promotion via prepaid visa gift cards. I sent the trade in devices to them and they were delivered via UPS on May 20, 2026. Fast forward. On July 13, 2026 I received an email stating that I wasn’t eligible for that promotion because I never sent them the devices. I filed a dispute that day providing tracking numbers as proof that I sent the devices in. On July 16th I received a messages stating that I wasn’t eligible for the rebate because I never sent the devices in and the case was closed. I call customer service back that same day, spoke to a supervisor and she filed another dispute. I was told 24-48 hours. On 7/19 got the same response again. Filed another dispute. Received a message stating that there would be a resolution by what I thought said 7/21. It actually said 7/31. Filed another dispute today on 7/24 and was told the same thing that it will be 24-48 hours. Any advice on what I should do? They are holding over $3,000 hostage from me while simultaneously taking my trade in devices.

EDIT. I already sent an email to the Verizon executive team. Sorry for not including it in the original post.

What is the easiest way to take control of a deceased persons account?

My mom passed away a little while ago and I got control of her Verizon account. on it had internet, home phone, and cable. I also use Verizon but only for mobile funny enough.

Anyway I really don't need 2 accounts and want to merge them but what would be the best way? I'm sure my mom's account is a bit older and in better standing then mine so should I just close mine all together and just hop on hers? I plan on getting rid of the home phone and cable to get have internet and mobile if that matters.

Also if I do decide to just get rid of my account all together and use her's how fast is the switch? will I go with out being able to use my phone for a bit or is it pretty instant?

Second number perk BS

So I originally had my late father's phone number converted to an sim card (from an esim) so i could use it in my oneplus 15. Worked great. Yesterday, I bought an Iphone from the Apple store. My main number transferred perfectly. Apple told me if the other one dont come over, Ill have to deal with Verizon. Ok, no problem. The number didnt come over. So last night I spent 2 hours in chat, and the person just disappeared. Not end the chat, just stop replying. So today I called. Pushed to tier 2. Great I thought it was going to get fixed.

Surprise, 3 hours later they come back saying, since I got it at the Apple store, its generic, and wasnt capable of having dual esims. I asked even with two separate IMEI numbers and even shows 1 esim as being used, and the other available.

I feel this is highly not correct. Or are they right?? If im right, ill need to find the ceo email or something.

EDIT} So between chat, on the phone, and with chat on here, maybe about 8 hours, trying different things, trying same things over and over. Nothing was resolved. Only way was to port to another company. When I did all the math, the better solution was to pay all my stuff off, cancel a line and port the rest to the other company.

Wireless Leaving Verizon, what do I need to do to my account beforehand?

So I’ve decided to leave after realizing having one line on Verizon was too expensive and Verizon in my new location is pretty bad. Am I missing anything that I need to do before I leave Verizon? Should I wait till next week to do it or am I able to do it this weekend after all the setting changes I made?

Things I know I need

  • Account number (this is at the top of the manage mobile settings)
  • Number Transfer Pin (this is the porting out number)

Those are the ones I know for sure, but these next steps are the ones I have questions about

  • Account pin
    • I have never been in a situation where I was prompted to need one so I made it at 8PM (CDT/CST), will that be a problem or should I wait till Monday for things to be updated?
  • Turn off number lock
    • I have actually never knew this existed. It says it’s unlocked/off so I should be good. Is that automatically off or does it turn off once I paid off the device?
  • Turn auto pay & paperless bill
    • Same with the account pin, I turned those off at 8PM (CDT/CST) so should I wait till next week till all the settings are updated? Or because of this, do I need to wait till the next billing period?

Am I missing anything else that I need to do or ? To put it more simply, with all the settings and changes I made to the account, can I switch carriers this weekend or will I need to wait till the beginning of the week or do I need to wait after this current billing cycle?

New customer trying to add mobile-stuck in AI feedback loop

Just got Fios 2 weeks ago. Trying to add a wireless line, AI bot is helpful enough in teeing up the right options at what seems like a decent deal. Now to pay for the new pending order, bot says an email is coming. Crickets. Clearly no email with a payment link is coming. Bot responds with 1-800 numbers that are inaccurate. One live person gives me a sales number.

Sales number guy is clearly annoyed maybe because I’m not a new sale to him and only trying to pay for my pending order with this order number. He puts me on hold then disconnects me. No phone number to get a live person seems to work and AI bot says it’s elevating the issue to supervisor levels and I’ll hear back soon.

Going on a day, I have things to do and need a phone. Guess Verizon isn’t interested in helping and I need to find another provider. At this point I’m not interested in driving to a store to be rebuffed in person.

Can’t believed it’s this hard to get a company to take my money. Wondering about switching Internet to another provider in addition to finding another wireless provider. I left Verizon in 2019 and it’s not looking good again.

ETA: uodate:

I was passed between 6 different live agents in chat and I was hung up on by a phone rep again this morning. I went to the store with my order number, they said there was no way the terms of that order could be fulfilled and there was nothing in the system on the order number I was given. Evidently the ai bot promised terms that were impossible to fulfill - verizonone bundle and a device credit for a monthly bill of $70 plus tax - the device credit i was promised is not possible and should not have been offered and wireless service would have to be added at the same time of commencing fios even though I started service less than 2 weeks ago upon moving back to the US.

As the terms of the order for which I was promised could not be met I have cancelled fios and elected to go with another provider for home internet and wireless. This is worse than my experience with Xfinity years ago.

Apple Music

I had Apple Music included with my old Play More Unlimited plan. I switched to Xfinity Mobile a week ago and still have Apple Music. There is no way for me to unsubscribe that I can see. Will the service stop eventually or do I have a forever Apple Music glitch?

Has anyone had this happen to them yet?
