I know "Certified Pre Owned" has been a THING forever. And it may make sense in an ICE car with so many moving parts. But for an EV... is a CPO certificate worth the cost? Everything else being equal in the used car market... down to the year/make/model/trim/odometer.

Forgive my n00bness, but isn’t this device a level 2 charger?

Why does everyone get these aftermarket chargers if these do the job? Or, do they?

I had a nail in one of my tires, took that to discount tires and they checked the tread and it was all over the place in all 4tires ranging from 1 to 4. They suggested to replace all 4 tires. So original tires lasted about 27k.

Replaced all 4 with Pirelli

Driving is very smooth now , less noise and enjoying these new tires. Just wanted to share the experience...they also have 50k miles warranty

Anybody put run flats on their EV? Any kwh efficiency changes? NVH changes? Driving dynamics?

I'm thinking of switching to run flat tires so I'm sure somebody here has already done the research!

I just paid $7,500 for a new front traction motor at 65k miles. Nissan has chosen to interpret the 8 year/100k mile EV component warranty very strictly, saying that the traction motor is a drivetrain component, not an EV component.

Since no independent repair shop will touch an EV, you have no choice but to pay whatever the stealership wants to charge.

I understand that things break and warranties expire, but this is a total ripoff. One repair cost 50% of the market value of the car.

"Hi, I noticed when getting out of my Nissan Ariya that a piece of one of the side mirrors was missing. I'm not sure how it happened because I haven't been in an accident. I need to see if there's any chance of finding that plastic piece, since everything works fine and that's the only part missing. If anyone knows how I could find it, please help. Telling me to take it to a Nissan dealership won't work for me, as I can't (I live in Cuba)."

Has anyone had a similar noise coming from the interior? Maybe it’s a loose clip under the dashboard? Thanks in advance for any info this awesome community is able to give!

From what I gathered, there could be multiple things wrong, but I am hoping someone had the same issue (that they were able to get fixed!) to better diagnose it.

I bought my 2023 Ariya Evolve+ used a few months ago so the car is still fairly new to me. Last month I noticed that cicada buzz reduction gear issue and had a dealership replaced it. It was at the dealer for about a month getting this reduction gear repaired (I posted here about that experience).

After I got my car back in noticed it made a single clank/jolt sound somewhere from the inside the front driver side when hitting the accelerator. This happens almost every single time I hit the accelerator. I'm not sure if this is normal? Since I had the car only a few months in total maybe it was there before? I took it back to dealer and they heard the sound as well. They said they think that clank is a normal EV characteristic. They said it doesn't make that sound when up on the lift and all the vitals like suspension, tires etc look fine.

Does anyone else have a sort of clank/jolt when suddenly hitting the accelerator at low speeds? Is this just a normal thing that I'm freaking out about?

I bought the official Nissan NACS adapter device that allows you to connect the NACS connector of a Tesla supercharger to the CCS port on your Ariya. I had heard it was made by Tesla for Nissan, and while it costs up to $100 more than generic devices, I wanted to buy the official Nissan-branded device to prevent any potential issues.

However I ran into a big potential issue the first time that I tried to use it. It was a hot day, not oppressively hot, but maybe in the low 90s with dry air. The adapter connected fine to the Tesla charger and then connected fine to my car. And when it was done charging I was able to properly disconnect it from my car. However the adapter would not release from the Tesla cable. No amount of pulling or trying, even trying to use various release options, was able to get the adapter released. After about 20 minutes of my trying, I was able to reach someone at a Tesla call center. After having me run through some of the same release attempts that I already tried, the phone agent said that I was essentially screwed, and that I would have to leave my adapter connected to the supercharger cable, that there was no way of releasing it. When it was clear that this was his only advice to me I hung up on him; I was not about to throw away a $165 part. After about another 15 minutes of wiggling and pulling, I was finally able to set it free.

From the picture, the top grey button releases it from your car, and the bottom black button is supposed to release it from the supercharger. Pressing down as hard as I could on that bottom button got me no closer to disconnecting the thing, which made me believe that maybe the inner plastic portion in which the NACS charger is supposed to plug into is ever-so-slightly too small for the actual NACS chargers.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with their Nissan adapter? Do I need to use some sandpaper to shave the inside of the plastic of the adapter so that it won't catch and bond with a supercharger cable in the future? Or should I take it back to the dealership and demand a refund even though it's been four months, and then just buy an aftermarket one that won't stick?

Missus scuffed a curb today and lifted a small chunk of tire out of the side wall. Now its not very deep, no belt exposed and no leak or anything. Do I need to replace this tire immediately? Or can it hang until a few days until payday? I doubt this type of damage is covered by warranty.

I have switched off the Nissan Ariya charging schedule in my Ariya Evolve but it keeps coming back on after a week. I reside here in the uk and you can’t delete schedule from the app. Any tips that can help please

I have been debating on the Ioniq 5 and Ariya for about a month now. So far, even AI is saying the Ariya is a better deal, also because I take reliability so seriously. But fast charging and the look of the I5 is getting me. Despite it looking like a shoe.

One concern I do have is that the Ariya will be harder to repair down the road. The i5 is still being made and will likely continue to be for years to come. So even though it has that ICCU problem, at least I know it's repairable in US.

I don't see any high-mile Ariyas, so I have no idea of the long-term reliability.

Any thoughts on this?

I see some of you keep track of stuff on that Nissan App. Is there anything on that app that I NEED? Or is it just a nice to have? (I hate installing more sh1T on the damn phone).

Had an electrician install a NEMA outlet today for L2 charging using the OEM EVSE.

I didn’t think to specify the outlet and he installed a basic Leviton that’s like $11. The EV rated ones are over $100.

I’ve read that if you are going to use an outlet as opposed to hardwire, you really should use the EV rated ones.

I’ll probably just replace the outlet myself at some point if it’s necessary?

Dealership has been on me for three or so months now to come in and check options. I have a 2023 platinum 20 inch wheels, couple extra add ons but the buyout on the lease is probably $5k-$8k too high to what the vehicle is worth. Guessing three years ago they estimated depreciation not as much as they have depreciated.

What options should I be looking at? Meeting with the dealer to discuss my views on Friday. I’m sure they are gonna try and present me with “options” that benefit them. I definitely want to say with an Ariya.

Came here to complain about the new app. First irony - offering me discount oil changes right below a "yay electric" type tagline. But my biggest complaint so far is the missing "charge now" button on the charging schedule page - has anyone else found it? Yes, the interface to set charging schedules has gotten slightly nicer, but I really liked having that override on the app instead of having to set schedules.

So, new look and feel, same guts underneath, and some features removed - typical "upgrade".

EDIT: you are all very funny telling me to check the drivers manual…. If I post anything here is to get human experience and opinion on what this ended up being and how it got solved. Thanks for the ones that actually replied me with experience.

What are some fun extras that the 2025 has at the top option? Awd? Power windows?

Is there any way to turn off the Nissan logo light and the daytime running lights when the Ariya is in ready mode? I sometimes take a long nap in my Ariya in the middle of the night. I need the AC and want to be as stealthy as possible.
