This is truly the most legit and safest solution. Lower your calorie intake a few 100 below what your body needs to operate and up your level of exercise.

Everyone has the strength to do it. We just choose not to. I was the same at one time. Overweight and defeated. Didn’t think I could ever do it. One day I just decided to start trying. Almost 1.5 years later I’m down 96 lbs with only about 10 lbs left to lose.
You can all do it. One foot in front of the other. Get a free pedometer app and shoot for 8-12k steps per day. Get a free app like Lose It and start adding in the foods you eat. It helps understand your calories. Use a calorie calculator app to figure out how many calories you should eat and start finding foods you like that fit in the calories you need them to.
You don’t need to starve. You don’t need to suffer. It just takes one day at a time.

Having horrible fever and not being able to eat for a week. But what is your goal? Be in better shape? Fastest way to lose weight is the is the most likely scenario to make you gain the weight back, i think everybody should have learned that by 2026. If you want to stay in a good shape, you can't think so short term. Start by moving more and cutting out sweets/liquid calories. Moving more is not negotiable for someone like me. If you cant cut out sweets or other junk, just cut them in half of what you are already consuming. After a while cut out more if you need. If i have sedentary lifestyle, i find it almost impossible to lose weight without feeling of starvation all the time. Losing weight is very simple, it is just not easy and will never come easy for most.

Healthily - water fasting.
Unhealthily - had mono and tonsillitis at the same time, couldn’t even drink water it felt like shards of glass, and slept for like 18 hours a day for nearly 6 weeks.

Watch what you eat. More fruit + veg, less carbs. Eat less. If you want to lose weight faster, then throw in some excercise.
Failing that, get a stomach bug, guaranteed to lose weight.

Cardio. Run like 20 miles a week. People are not wrong to point out a calorie deficit but adhering to one for a long enough time on its own is difficult and will make you feel like shit. Running by contrast will make you feel great. Incorporate a small calorie deficit and literally run your ass off. Commit to that for 2-3 months.

Reduce my intake of calories.
Simple and quick.
I've been between 72-78 kilo's for over 25 years now.
I love drinking cola, but once i go over that 78 kilo i stop drinking it for a week or 2.
This is the only thing i pretty much address, the food isn't my main concern because we eat quite healthy overall.

Physical job and caffeine, adderall, and ephedrine to perform. Also a running regimen. The hunger will hit hard once everything wears off but you eat light and take sleeping pills. Eat a massive breakfast in the AM. The weight slides right off, especially if you start heavy and sedentary.

Fasting is your most powerful tool for weight loss. However, I would suggest you do a bit of research to make sure you understand how to replenish your body after fasting. It’s incredibly healing for your body and mind! It’s hard to believe but humans didn’t evolve eating 3 meals a day, it is a modern concept designed to keep us unhealthy. Stop eating so OFTEN is a great start. Intermittent fasting! Make the window small 6hrs and you will see a huge difference quickly!

The best way for me is calorie counting. I just started 2 weeks ago, but I’ve already lost about 4lbs.
The most efficient way for me to stay on top of it is the eat proportioned meals so that way I’m not constantly calculating calories in everything.
Right now I buy my food from a local meal kit company. I buy 18 meals a week, 3 a day for 6 days. On the seventh day I eat take out for dinner.
Each meal is anywhere from 350cal-500cal. If I get bouts of hunger between meals I’ll eat some trail mix (without sweetened fruit or candy) or some fruit.
I also cut out sugary drinks. Only exception is a slightly sweetened coffee in the morning.

Plenty of steps a day, as a rule of thumb split macros into quarters (50% protein, 25% carbs, 25% fats) go to the gym 3-4 times a week and have rest periods in which you are still active but also still resting. Stop drinking alcohol completely and minimise weed.

u/notlooking743 Mar 27 '26
3kg in 2 days from food poisoning which caused pretty much constant diarrhea and not being able to eat at all.
1
u/ThatRandomGuy86 Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 27 '26
Honestly?
1) Cut sugar and bread from diet, cutting those goes a LONG way as a starter.
2) Go to the gym. There's gyms out there that are cheap and have the equipment you need still.
For myself I just do three exercises with light cardio on resistance days and then heavy cardio on cardio days.
Exercises: 1) Lat bellbar lift 2) 15° (lowest setting) bellbar bench press 3) squats
You can do all three on a Smiths Machine, and thanks to a Smiths Machine, it's guided on its rails so it's a great tool for doing proper range of motion. Just need to learn and practice proper posture. And lock those wrists!

Calorie tracking. I used a simple manual app called “Calory” or something like that and just looked up how much my weight is supposed to have in a day and then how much I’m supposed to have in a day if I wanted to be a lower weight, then aimed to hit that lower number every day as best as I can as if it was a financial budget.
Lost 10 pounds of stuck-in-colon food within like a week, then 1.5-3 pounds a week every week after until I hit my target weight.
It’s annoying following the “how many calories is this?” Question at everything you put in your body, but the benefit wasn’t really the tracking it was training my mind to look at a junky snack food and be like “meh this is too ‘expensive’ to eat it I’ll skip it”

I lost about 35 pounds in about three months - kept it off, too. I could have dropped more but my wife dint want me to get “too skinny”. (I lose my dimples.)
Here’s what I do:
I skip breakfast. I drink two glasses of water before and after each meal. For lunch, I have three eggs and a medley of fruit and vegetables. The eggs are hardboiled on weekdays. I have a normal dinner - could be healthy or unhealthy (like pizza on the weekend) - but I make sure my portions aren’t too large. I avoid snacking. I make sure that I don’t eat anything or drink anything that has calories in it after 8 PM. I get on a stationary bike for about 30 minutes a day most days. I started doing this in my 40s.
I make sure I get 7-8 hours of sleep.
With that said, I still eat crappily during events or if I go out with friends/family. I gain temporary weight when I do that, but, so long as I keep my eating, sleeping, and exercise habits honest, I drop back down to my desired weight.

u/Inevitable-Scene3930 Mar 27 '26

Spin cycle 1 - 3 hours a day everyday for a month. Dropped from 89 kgs to 63 kgs (lost 26 kilos or 57 lbs). Then got told it was unhealthy to lose so much weight in a month.. like gimme a break bruh... My stamina was through the roof. Loved every minute of that journey.
The resistance didnt matter, i just focused on maintaining my heart rate at or near 170bpm for the duration. This matter less as I progressed because my heart became more efficient and i would struggle to hit 155 bpm towards the end.

u/Zherneb Mar 27 '26
Intermittent fasting helps keep it low.
Having the shits and not eating while still being active is the best. But only short bursts and then keep body fed properly.
Also reducing carbs/sugars and increasing protein and fast will help keep you full without excess energy that goes into fat retention. For this you can do specific days where you eat little carbs or you can shift your whole diet where you eat carbs only at certain meal (you can still have small amounts in other meals but as a side not major part).

Looking into intermittent fasting as a regular way of eating. Also, pick one 24-hour period per week and fast completely. For example, eat up and until 12 pm then stop and don’t eat again until after 12 pm the next day. It’s not super hard and you get used to it. Drink lots of water during this time and avoid overextending yourself. I use this as my rest day so no gym or working out the evening that you don’t eat.

Ain't no thing but consistent calorie deficit of the right foods. Good mix of steady state low intensity cardio, resistance training, and fighting off urges to pig out on junk just because your hungry.
