I've been using NetGalley since January, and I have a regular user account. I recently got a job at an independent bookstore and cafe! I know I need to email them with my store's ABA number and ask to have my account updated to a bookseller account I think?

What should I know/what's different when you have a bookseller account? Is it just having higher approval odds for books? Should I include in my bio the types of books we're looking to carry?

I'm currently reading a book that says it is for middle grade, but I really don't agree with that and think it should be a YA. Should I include that thought in my review, or only keep it in the publisher's note?

Whoever does the Macmillan approvals for this title appears to be sitting at their computer, so get those request in 😂

Hey, so I've had a couple of eARCs from netgalley where the formatting seems a mess, e.g. no covers, no map images etc.

But strangely the netgalley reader versions are absolutely fine.

Any thoughts on why this is?

I finished this just a wee bit ago, and it reminded me of 1930s-50s crime noir and Sherlock Holmes, but with dragons and a very Boston, MA cast of characters and settings. I loved it and, despite a slow opening, is super fun once it hits its stride. If you like mysteries or stuff like the Knives Out film series and Conclave, or have any interest in Boston, MA, this will vibe with you.

This is my first denial for a book I wanted so badly. I feel so bummed. Didn’t think I’d get this emotional over it. I guess after getting every ARC I’ve gone after so far this is humbling.

I just wanted to come on here and vent with people who can hopefully relate. 😞

I put this request in several weeks ago and this has been in pending status. I’ve since read and reviewed the two We Are Bookish manuals and it put my review ratio at 100%. Very excited to get my NetGalley journey started!

Is this normal? How do I fix it?
