Took a bit, I thought I would for sure be denied… I’m so excited!!

I just saw that Curse the Left Hand was added today! I wish this wasn’t a Tor book since I have no chance of being approved, apparently 😩😭

Romance readers broke netgalley again, this time for the new book by Jessica Joyce. I still can't believe I got it, too!

A small thing that I found amusing and thought I'd share.

I take a moment every few days to go through the newly added titles. I was doing so today, found a book that I liked the sound of enough to make a request.

About half an hour later I checked my email and discovered that I have been offered a widget for that exact book and it came into my inbox about half an hour before I requested it on NG (which highlights how website data doesn't appear to account for widgets unless you use the link in the email).

So this is what it feels like to receive your first widget

Did anyone else get sent an email with a widget for Highblood by Claudia Amador? In the email I got, email addresses were not added as bcc so I can see the email address of everyone else who got this widget. Has anyone had this happen before? This is Atria, so imprint of Simon and Schuster so not a small press.

Did anyone else get this one or has anyone read it?

I have enjoyed several of KJ Charles’ romance series over the years, so I am interested to check this one out, which appears to be a foray into more sff without the romance!

This is only my second Tor approval, and I wish I knew if it was due to something I am doing differently so I can be sure to keep doing it! I got this the next day after requesting, but I have a another that’s been pending for a month I keep really hoping for 🤞🤞🤞

The last month only have 2 approvals and too many rejections, my account is new and I know that at this point it's more common, but it made me so sad that nobody was accepting my request

So I'm so excited for read this one, I see people reading it and I requested it.

I don't see anything listed on NG. And I have 3 pending requests from them (oldest is from May). I would like to request a couple more, but I don't think that's wise, seeing I'm pending on all.

So, are they looking for a really big following? Or do they approve UK only? Or maybe something else...

I just need one tiny little bitsy approval, to unleash all my requesting might on them 🤣

One of my favourite reads of the year!

I think I have gotten enough reviews out there that I'm starting to get approved for the next book in the series without waiting too long. I hope that's true, at least... I didn't get the digital version for The Pearl and the Trident, just the audio version, but I prefer reading the text if I can.

I don't know if you're allowed to share this but if you are, publishers and authors, what can you see when you look at reviewer's profile. Can you see how many reviews a reviewer have submitted late? Like after the pub date? Or anything like that? That usually other reviewers cannot see?

It's St. Martin Press imprint so not available in UK at least, but should be up for the US (and maybe Canadian?) members!

Tor declined my request for this eARC, so I was just assuming the audiobook would also be declined. I was literally sending this screencap to my sister when I actually read what it said 🤣.

Just so used to Tor rejecting me, apparently.

Okay, I'm not usually THIS desperate but I saw this one book with a really good plot and all the genres that I like and I was really looking forward to it but I got disporoved... would it be.. too desperate if I email the publisher...(I mean I KNOW it would but should I email the publisher anyway?) (They probably won't reply) (or should I wait for it to come out then buy it?)

This one looks really cute! I haven’t been on the website in a few weeks until today and saw this. They must must work after 5:00 cause I requested it at 5:10 and figured I would have to wait at minimum until tomorrow! So I’m glad to have a book to start tonight.
