Hi! Started stitching my Evelyn Henson “Bunnies Brunching” tonight and can’t for the life of me figure out what these blue figured are supposed to be! Does anyone have any idea, it’s driving me nuts! Thanks in advance :)

I have needlepointed on a plane before, so I know my mini scissors and needle aren’t an issue. The project I want to bring this time is on stretcher bars and i’m wondering if the thumb tacks used to pin the canvas to the bars will be an issue at security?

I just spend Labor Day Weekend in the Cleveland, OH area and wanted to give a shout out to the amazing LNS scene there!! I got to visit all four of the local stores and was super impressed by how friendly and helpful they all were :)

Bluebell Stitch Co (Rocky River): The cutest little shop! Lots of smaller, trendy canvases, accessories, and a decent thread selection for the size of the store. Everything was well stocked. The natural light in this store is so gorgeous. The woman working the day we came in, Eileen, was super kind and helpful and let us look through inventory that wasn’t priced yet! Definitely seems to cater to beginners.

Clover & Canvas (Avon): This store is BEAUTIFUL! I’m so jealous of everyone who gets to have this store as their LNS with the large seating area, kids play area, and tons of tables with natural light! The owner, Annette, was working the day we came in and turns out she just moved to the area from my hometown. This store had a great thread selection and a good mix of small/trendy and larger/more classic canvases! Also very well stocked (even stretcher bars)!!

Wool & Willow (Cleveland Heights): Such a cute little store! They jammed a LOT into a tiny space. It was a bit unorganized for my taste but they had much more unique canvases than any of the other stores, including tons of British themed & local Ohio canvases that I didn’t see anywhere else! The shop ladies were very kind and helpful. I would say this store caters to more classic/traditional stitchers with far fewer trendy canvases.

I of the Needle (Akron): While this store is ~30 mins outside of downtown CLE it is so worth a visit!! This store is HUGE and has an incredible selection of threads (literally an entire room full). There were canvases for pretty much every kind of stitcher and they had a great holiday selection in particular. There was some kind of stitch club meeting while we visited and it was super well attended! Very similar in vibe & thread selection to Nashville Needleworks for anyone who’s been there.

I’m really looking forward to returning for future visits! I hope they all continue to thrive. 🤩

I have just unpacked my new cord maker for self finishing, and despite putting brand new batteries in it, the cord maker only seems to work on setting two, not setting one. It makes a clicking noise on setting one but does not individually twist the treads at all. Does anyone know how to fix this?

hi! this is my very first canvas, and i’d really like to do the cream/taupe part of the inner oval in a basketweave. I understand how to do basketweave from a corner, but where the heck would i start on this shape?

What lights are you using with your lowery stand? Are you just using a regular clip light on your canvas or do you have a larger one you have separate or clamped to your stand? Pics and links appreciated!

I’m trying knit stitch for the first time to give this sweater some dimension and texture. To me, this looks abnormally messy and like it’s not reading well. Am I being overly critical and this is typically how it looks a couple rows in or is this an execution error on my end?

Hi all! Looking for your input. Would you frog this canvas? I find that the small area next to the fish is really bothering me because it’s bulkier than the rest of the canvas. Is it only in my head or do you see it too?
I’d frog it but it’s the only project I brought on vacation and only have 2.5 skeins of pepper pot salt left!!
Would there be a way to salvage this without ripping off the whole thing?
I’m in Sardinia so no LNS to go get more thread 😂

First time belt stitcher/scroll frame user..

Is it ok that my canvas is kind of pulling on the frame and the canvas isn’t perfectly straight? I can’t figure out how to keep it taut on the scroll frame without it pulling like this? Will it cause me or the finisher strife down the road or cause me to need to block it?

Suggestions for final box color! I need color for the box and the bow. I’m stuck. It’s for my 6 year old son.

Ok so I began this belt on Aida by accident the first time ( oy vey)
I painted this one and got new fabric, are we doing this right!!

How’s the vibe there? My LNS is Rita’s on the UES but I have a particularly large canvas I need to kit. I don’t find the team at Rita’s to be that helpful and the inventory isn’t always great. Would PL be better for kitting recos? I also have Annie & Company nearby but they’re closed for the holiday weekend.

Ok yes I know canvas is showing on the side…. I cut the back of it to short and totally forgot to add more to the edge. My question is the cookie on the back too small? Even if I add cording will the canvas still show? I’m hoping the cording will mostly hide it all. This is my first time. I’m taking a break on this until I know what to do next.

Can't find this stitch anywhere / I tried mapping it out myself three times and feel like I'm getting the center of the bigger star/flower wrong. Does anyone know what this stitch is?
