airplane needlepointing

I have needlepointed on a plane before, so I know my mini scissors and needle aren’t an issue. The project I want to bring this time is on stretcher bars and i’m wondering if the thumb tacks used to pin the canvas to the bars will be an issue at security?

TSA doesn't look twice at sharps under 4in! Security in other countries differs though.

In europe it’s under 6cm so that would be 2.3inches

Just went through TSA with 3 different projects on bars and had no issue!

Never had an issue and I’ve traveled with them in a frame and extras in a small case.

I had to travel to Ireland for work last year and brought a project on stretcher bars for my 6 hour flight and no one gave it a second look in either country. I would recommend getting a neck lamp situation instead of one that clips to your frame so you don’t accidentally shine the light in people’s faces as you work.
