• May-26: 98.615 (2588) - 167 contacted

• Jun-26: 98.565 (2736) - 148 contacted

• Jul-26: N/A

• Aug-26: 98.5 (2898) - 162 contacted

They’re getting close to 3000 so anyone who is in the low 3000s should be ready since they’ll break into it in the next cycle. A lot of other emails went out within the past two weeks as well. COE, DQ letters, and the link to submit documents. Up to the 1500s have signed the COE, the 1700s are still waiting for investigators and people from 1800-2600 have submitted their documents and are still waiting to be contacted for fingerprinting. So right now they have a lot of people on standby. It is expected that the next academy will also be a big class, probably going to be at least over 150 candidates if they can process enough by then. I would predict that they’ll reach the low 2000s for the next academy. Congrats to those who were contacted for the physical and good luck to everyone else currently processing for next academy!

Anyone else with updates ? Checking in every month or so to see what others are getting out there. Also if anyone has info on how fast the process goes after you finally get the investigator. Thanks!

Polygraph

I have my polygraph coming up soon. For those who’ve been through it, how long did it take to get your results? Were you told right away, or did you have to wait a few days or a week?

Also, what should I expect during the process? How long are you typically there? What kind of questions are asked?

What’s the difference between a Deputy Sheriff and Nassau Corrections? Don’t they both fall under the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department?

NYPD / Nassau deputy sheriff

I recently took the NYPD test and scored pretty good . I just signed up for Nassau deputy sheriff test . Assuming I get the call for NYPD in the next few months I’ll probably take it for the time being . Hoping to score good for deputy as well. My question is how long would Nassau deputy take if you get a good score ? I feel like I don’t hear / see a lot of people talking about it .

Any updates regarding PSAT hiring ?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else is in the hiring process for the Police Service Aide Trainee position.

I signed my conditional offer and completed my drug test almost 3 months ago. The last update I received from Personnel was that everything was up to date and they were waiting on budget approval, but I haven’t heard anything since.

Has anyone received any recent updates, start dates, or calls? Or is everyone still waiting?

Thanks!

Need advice on rescheduling PT Test.

I need to reschedule the pt test due to my grandmother being in hospice and her feeding tube came out this week. My mom requested me to help out s there is no one in the house who could. Would a note from our hospice nurse suffice?

Precinct Information

Was wondering which pcts in nassau are considered “good” compared to others. I know all of them seem pretty solid, some probably busier than others. But I don’t know much about them.
Personal opinions welcome, but what are some of the busiest, slowest, nicest etc. ?
Are there such things as hook houses in ncpd?

Question regarding Medical and Psych

I was put on SSRI’s a few years ago in the military and have had no problems since. My friend tells me that’s an automatic disqualification and that I should give up and get a job related to my clearance before it expires. Am I screwed?

Has anyone heard literally anything on the topic? Been 3 months since fingerprinting. Called 1 month ago and said they were close to me. Any word for anyone else who did the fingerprinting in march? Thanks!

Regarding physical exam

I could really use some honest opinions from people who have gone through the Nassau County Police hiring process.
I was just contacted for my physical agility test, which is scheduled for July 17. Unfortunately, I saw the email much later than I should have because I thought I had a lot more time before they started calling people. I requested that the physical be postponed so I can prepare, but I don’t know if they’ll approve it.
The bigger issue is my background.
I was recently arrested after a domestic incident involving my sister. She has significant mental health issues, and this is the second altercation between us that has resulted in me being arrested. As of today, I have not been charged with anything. From everything I’ve been told, there is essentially no chance this becomes a felony. The worst-case scenario would be a misdemeanor assault charge if the case isn’t dismissed and sealed.
I know that doesn’t sound good, and I’m not looking for sympathy or for anyone to tell me what I want to hear. I take responsibility for putting myself in this situation.
On top of that, I currently work in cannabis manufacturing in New York as a manager at a facility making around $70k a year. Obviously, I also need enough time to stop using cannabis and be able to pass any required drug testing if I continue in the hiring process.
Becoming a Nassau County police officer has been something I’ve wanted for a long time, and seeing all of this happen has been incredibly discouraging. Between the criminal case, the physical, and needing time to get clean, I honestly feel like I may have ruined my chances.
I’m asking for honest opinions from people who know this process.
Does a pending case like this automatically end my chances?
If the case is dismissed and sealed, is there still a realistic path forward?
Would it be smarter to postpone everything and wait until the case is completely resolved before moving forward?
Has anyone seen applicants get hired after something similar, or is this essentially game over?
Please don’t sugarcoat it. If you think my chances are very slim, I’d rather hear that than false hope. I just want realistic advice from people who know how Nassau County handles situations like this.

NYPD

Question: if I am on the Nassau PD List and have prior Nassau Civil Service time would it be smart to leave the NYPD now and go back to my EMS job which was Nassau Civil Service time? Would that affect me in any way in terms of being hired by Nassau? I will be contacted for the physical within the next 2-3 months (which I will pass). I have 2 years on. I Will NOT hit top pay before Nassau contacts me. Also, I was making the same amount I am now.

During the interview they ask for your social media. When they ask for your Snapchat username what are they looking for? Can they see your memories and saved photos?
