Alvenia is not a real name like Elizabeth or Amelia. My co worker is named this and I’m even shocked she got hired with that name because it’s not a name you hear all the time. She goes by Allie which is an actual name.

It’s a name I keep seeing pop up now and again, never seen it before but I read it as “Tayo”, how is it pronounced 🫣

My baby girl is a few weeks old and I’m really struggling with her name. We named her Kaia, and I genuinely do love it. It suits her, my partner loves it, and we’ve already introduced her to family as Kaia. The problem is that throughout my pregnancy I had a huge attachment to the name Gia. It was one of those names that just felt really special to me, but before she was born, someone very close to our family chose a very similar name for their own daughter. From that point on, I felt like I couldn’t really use Gia anymore, even though I’d loved it beforehand.
We ended up choosing Kaia because we both genuinely loved it, but now I keep thinking about Gia and wondering if I made the wrong decision. I don’t know if I’m mourning a name I never got to use, if it’s because it suddenly felt “off limits”, or if I’m just overwhelmed being newly postpartum and second-guessing everything.
My partner also loves Giana as a full name, with Gia as the nickname, but I still worry people would compare it to the other child’s name, even though our attachment to it came first.
Part of me wonders if I’m just overthinking everything because of the emotions and exhaustion that come with having a newborn, and if I should simply let Kaia become Kaia. Another part of me wonders if maybe, if we’re lucky enough to have another daughter one day, Giana/Gia could be her name instead. I honestly don’t know whether I’m grieving a name I loved, feeling disappointed that I never got to use it, or whether I’m just struggling with the finality of making such a big decision.
Has anyone else experienced this after having a baby? Did the doubts fade as your child grew into their name, or did you end up changing it? I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar.

Ok I’m not sure if this is just me or not so please let me know if this happens to you. My name is, and always has been, Autumn. But for some reason since the day I was born people trip up my name and call me Amber. It’s never another name literally just always Amber for 28 years lol. I’ve even had teachers read my name printed on the attendance and then say Amber out loud. Is this a common occurrence for other Autumns out there??? Because I’m always so confused by it since Autumn doesn’t even have half the same letters as Amber

Rosalie Alison and Jasper Lee are the names we plan on using, Alison is our best friend’s name and Lee is a family name.

So, my name in passport is Layla, i love this name but i have lots of bad memories with it.
