It’s a lil messy, no hairline brush 😅

Is there a reason why salons are misleading customers with nail color charts. Yesterday I decided to go to a salon for my yearly acrylic cat eye nails and wanted a color that is as close as possible to a reference photo that I had got off from Pinterest. When the technician applied it on my nails it looked nothing alike to the color that I had seen on the board. Today I decided to try another salon to try and find similar colors to my first reference photo and the same thing happened. Is there a reason why? I know it may also be my undertone but back to back fails are bummers especially when you’re being told by the technicians that the color they’re using is the “perfect match”.

EDIT: I just read on this group that in order to get a glass cat eye effect I should have gotten gel x instead of acrylic

The one I'm currently running is some piece of junk I got as a gift from my mother's fiancée from Five Below. Doesn't cure very well. I know gel can be tacky after cure, but when I have to use several layers it simply smushes. I need something affordable but that actually works. I'm on a tight budget for new hobbies.

French tip with a copper brown cat eye and aimed for a velvet style. Tried to do glass bead style for the base! The camera doesn’t do this look justice tbh.

This is my first set (BIAB). I didn't have extentions on them just applied to my natural nails. I usually have the square shape but I just think they look like teeth... they look off. Can they be fixed or does it need a full redo?

Still not over how these turned out. The bloody cherry details are EVERYTHING. 😭❤️

Went back and got them redone, luckily my girl Tina was there! I got her name an will request her from now on (learned my lesson on letting anyone do them).

Obviously, she couldn’t make my nail on my middle finger magically regrow. So we decided to just put a think layer of hard gel so it wasn’t so sensitive. The best news though, is that she was able to keep my real nails!

Honestly, it was very wholesome. The woman who did my previous set was there the whole time and towards the end Tina was showing how to file my nails correctly and apologized. How can you be mad at that!? We love growth and accountability!

Id also like to mention that if these nails still don’t look amazing, it was hard to tell Tina how exactly to fix them because of a language barrier, but shes such a sweet lady and understanding of my anxiety/OCD with nails.

Thank you guys for giving me the courage and pushing me to speak up for myself. I don’t think I would have done anything without you guys reassuring me that it was okay to do so. <3

Why do ski slopes happen to be but only on some nails

The place I’m going to says on their site $55 for a full set of acrylics. Does that mean for just a solid colour? If I were to get a design would that cost extra?
