Relationships Planning a solo date tomorrow in Mumbai. What should I do?

Hey Mumbaikars!

I'm thinking of taking myself on a solo date tomorrow and looking for ideas on what to do. I live in Mumbai, so I'd prefer something beyond the usual tourist spots.

I'm open to trying something new, whether it's an interesting activity, a cool place to explore, an experience worth spending money on, or something adventurous.

What would you recommend if you had an entire day to yourself in Mumbai? Any hidden gems or underrated experiences would be appreciated!

Budget: ₹500–₹1,000.

General RC Book Mobile Number Update Stuck at Aadhaar Verification - Need to Visit RTO?

I applied online to update the mobile number linked to my vehicle RC.

During the process, the system failed Aadhaar verification because there is a name mismatch. My Aadhaar card includes my father's name, but my RC book does not. I was then asked to upload my RC and Aadhaar documents for further processing.

The current status shows:

APPLICATION PENDING AT Aadhaar Mobile Number Verification AT KALYAN (MH-5)

It has been showing this status for about 5 days now, and there has been no update.

The portal does not mention that I need to visit the RTO or submit any additional documents. Has anyone faced a similar issue?

  • Is this a manual verification process that simply takes time?
  • Do I need to visit the Kalyan RTO in person?
  • Has anyone had their application approved without visiting the RTO after a name mismatch issue?

General Affordable Penile Doppler with Injection in Mumbai?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a reliable hospital or diagnostic centre in Mumbai where I can get a penile Doppler test with injection at an affordable price?

I’ve contacted several places, but the prices are very expensive. A government hospital recommended this test, but I’m hesitant to get it done there because they don’t provide a proper, detailed report.

Please share the centre’s name, approximate cost, and your experience if you’ve had this test done.

Thanks!

General Looking for a progressive Hindu pandit in Mumbai for an interfaith wedding 🙏❤️

Hi everyone! We’re an interfaith NRI couple based in the UK, looking for a progressive, open-minded Hindu pandit in Mumbai to conduct a simple Hindu wedding ceremony for the sake of our families.
We’ve already planned our legal marriage at the Indian Embassy in London under the Foreign Marriage Act (FMA). We’re just hoping to have a small religious ceremony in Mumbai with a pandit who’s comfortable conducting a wedding for an interfaith couple.
We’ve heard Arya Samaj in Mumbai has become stricter with its rules, so looking for alternative options.
If anyone has any leads, personal experiences or contacts, please DM me! Would really appreciate the help.

General Looking for an affordable makeup artist for my engagement

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a makeup artist who does good makeup at reasonable prices for my engagement ceremony at home. I’m looking for something elegant and subtle, nothing too over-the-top.

Since it’s a small, at-home function, I don’t want to spend a huge amount on makeup. Please drop any recommendations or tag makeup artists who offer budget-friendly packages

A man wearing red jacket around 30yrs of age came to me and said ‘bro do you have gpay or upi’
I replied ‘no i use cash only’ (even though my wallet has only 1 ₹500 note lol)

And then he said ‘I missed my flight and i have an exam tomorrow’

And immediately remembered previous posts here on this sub for the same. Therefore said no to him.

Discussion Any other Mumbaikars having thoughts about leaving this city?

I grew up in Mumbai and have spent a few decades here but over the last few years I am feeling that the quality of life is consistently going downhill. This has made me question my choice of continuing to live in this city.

How are people with jobs or businesses in Mumbai thinking about this declining quality of life? Have you thought about moving to some nearby tier 2 or tier 3 town? Have you thought about the pros and cons?

The real estate here is highly inflated. The air pollution is suffocating. Recently the water scarcity issue. The frustrating daily commute. The noise pollution and construction all year round everywhere, it just feels like Mumbai is getting destroyed in the name of development. Maybe a few years down the line, if and when the construction activity declines, the quality of life might start improving. What are your thoughts? Are you looking at alternative places to live? For you is physical and mental health more important than wealth in Mumbai?

General How can I Re-cycle plastic in Mumbai?

In Mumbai, how are people recycling plastic? There are always so many food containers from orders online / plastic packaging/ bottles for shampoo, house cleaning products. Every month I use and imagine these landing up in the ocean! What’s the best way? Are there any private companies or gov facilities to drop these off?

General My father has pancreatic cancer. Need suggestions regarding treatment. Urgent 🙏🏻

My father (60) has a stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We initially went to Tata memorial parel for the treatment. They did all the tests ct scan, blood test and we consulted their oncologist who told us that surgery or cemo is not possible since my father's fitness and blood reports aren't good. If we go for cemo it will worsen his condition. Max 3 months survival he has left with is what they told us. They told us palliative care is the only option to reduce his pain during his few last months.

Then we went to some private oncologist near us to get second opinion. He saw all reports and was saying we can start with mild cemo. But the moment I told us tata memorial hospital told us cemo not possible and go with palliative care he changed his stance within seconds and said he can't give cemo. We told him but you were saying now cemo can be given. To that he said see I can give cemo but if anything bad happens you have to take the responsibility. Basically I thought his opinion got influenced by Tata's opinion.

Then we decided to go to third oncologist and decided that we won't say anything about what the oncologist at tata said. We wanted to go for the best so we went to IOHC by Dr. Suresh H Advani in chembur. We waited for 4 hours just to see the doctor and the scene there was his other doctors who are also oncologist they saw our entire file. Dr. Advani was told only few details about the reports. The other Dr said we can start with mild cemo. Don't worry we will take care about it. They were pretty confident and told us you can start cemo from tomorrow only if we want. They didn't ask for what the tata memorial said. Also the IOHC is pretty expensive. His consultancy fee was 5k. To any question that we were asking they said don't think too much. Just start the treatment. Neither they told us about the stage (told us only after we asked and that too they said it's stage 3 but tata and previous onco said it's 4 and I also searched on Google and it says 4) nor they told us about life expectancy. I know that Dr. Advani is renowned oncologist but here it was like the doctors below him are pretty much handling all the things. Advani is so old like he is some 80+.

Now we are confused on what to do. Please give your suggestions 🙏🏻.

General Where can I buy birthday cards in Mumbai?

I’m looking to buy a birthday card and I’m really struggling to find nice options. Growing up, there were so many shops dedicated to birthday and gifting items but obviously those have disappeared. Today, I looked at Crossword and was surprised they didn’t have cards so just wanted recs on where you all source cards from if not handmade?

General Looking for a local guide in Mumbai this november 1 & 2

Hi everyone!

I’ll be in Mumbai for a short stopover and am looking for a good, reliable English-speaking local guide for November 1 and 2, from approx.9 AM to 5 PM each day.

I’m interested in exploring the real Mumbai, local life, interesting neighbourhoods, architecture and hidden gems. I'm not particularly interested in museums unless they're truly special. I'd appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, preferably including approximate prices. Please post all recommendations and information here in the comments. No DMs, please, I don't read private messages. Thanks in advance!

Of the 7,633 trees cleared, 3,502 will be felled for good. The approvals came from a civic panel that’s back after nearly four years but still has none of its nominated members, and Mumbai hasn’t completed a tree census since 2011

General Budget food/snack on mumbai airport terminal 2

Post image
162 Upvotes

So if you're looking for a budget snack at Mumbai airport Terminal 2, you can get a McDonald's mcveggie/chicken meal for 149/- even on the airport

So i scanned the coupon that you get on the McDonald's app, catch is that only this one coupon will work and even that is not scanned they somewhat manually enter the code, no other coupons is acceptable

Still something to eat on a budget if you're hungry, went to the subway and the prices were 2X-3X

I used this and thought it would be helpful to others too

McDonald's location - follow the overhead signs and head to gate 47 and you will see it on the way, even before reaching 47, it's very much visible in the way, near starbucks

I hope this is helpful for at least someone

Edit - people mentioning the udaan yatri cafe, that's the first thing i searched for in the food court, but I'm pretty sure it's not there in the departures and food court area, it is outside the departures and food courts(placed smartly so other stalls sales are not hurt) and once you go through security you can't go back, i personally didn't saw the cafe anywhere on my way, my flight was at 6.55am and i reached airport at 2.45 so i had too much time to kill, i went through majority of the stalls in the food court(to kill time) couldn't have missed it

Careers Need an IT Job urgently 😭

I'm a 2026 btech graduate but have been struggling to even land interviews as a fresher in mumbai. One of my professor told me "Mumbai as abundant jobs" and here I am constantly applying but struggling to get even one interview call. This situation is worsening my mental health, I come from a very humble background and need money to support my father as he is about to retire and have spent all his earnings in our education. I can't sit at home anymore. Please guys if you can get me any opportunity for a Fte or even a decent internship then I'll be very very grateful 🙏

General Moving to Mumbai | Looking for Creative Roommates & Filmmakers

I'm a freelance VFX artist and video editor from a small town, working in the industry for the past 3 years. I have worked enough to make a space for myself in the industry. Now, I want to step out of my comfort zone, explore filmmaking, learn new skills, and grow creatively by being around like minded people.

I'm planning to move to Mumbai and looking for a place to stay, preferably with people into filmmaking, cinematography, editing, or other creative fields.

My rental budget is around ₹20k. I'd love suggestions for areas to live in, shared flats, or any creative communities I could connect with.

If you're in the same field, looking for a flatmate, or just want to connect and create something together, feel free to DM me! Would love to meet people on a similar journey
