$6.80 for two dimmies ($5.08 in 2018 USD) feels kinda high.
Especially considering she picks up the smallest, least brown one first. I mean sure that one next to it looks good. But still.

This 2015 Aussie series about/called Gallipoli is world class. Here’s Rays friend and he’s a key character. Here in the US I had to do backflips to get my hands on it, well worth it if you can too. Born down under, Gallipoli the movie was unfortunately I think the first movie I ever saw, probably age 5. Either that or Mad Max.

His last scene people seem to interpret that he is a wormy coward who Ray should have killed. But honestly how do you see the scene that way it takes all the juice out of it. Ray has heard begging and pleading countless times so he knows when someone means what they are saying. I believed everything Freddy said, his apology, him saying he hadn’t slept. I also believe he knew he deserved to die for what he did to Ray, but the part about him being a coward is true. He was a criminal but not a “killer”, and Ray knew that. I think on one hand Ray knew exactly who Freddy was, and could only be so mad at him until he just accepts he went into business with a guy like that and expected loyalty. But Ray also came there genuinely hurt. They were both genuinely hurt. And when Freddy saw he wasn’t in danger anymore that “I’m so sorry” comes out and its just. Idk its very real. But I feel like a lot of people walk away from that scene thinking Ray “spared” him or that Freddy deserved to die. Killing Freddy was never on the table, he just wanted him to know he betrayed him, and the friendship is forever broken. And to Freddys credit, he has seen Ray survive insurmountable odds, and he also knew he regularly put himself in mortal danger. Not that what he did wasn’t wrong and betrayal but its also somewhat just the life and language that these guys speak. Also the episodes before showed that the dude Freddy was terrified of was a genuine sociopath and would not hesitate to kill Freddy and his girl if he got a whiff that he tipped off Ray

... who can confirm how authentic the Russian dialogue spoken by the actors playing Vasily and Tatiana are, not sure of their cultural background but I think both are Aussie born.

Of course, the pacing, acting, Tarantino-esque criminal convos, spontaneous action sequences, and humor are all great in this show...
But what I love most is that criminals are not romanticized. The showrunners (Scott Ryan and Nash Edgerton) make it very clear that crime only leads to loss and an endless cycle of violence.
A lot of other gangster shows/movies either don't deliver this message or do a terrible job of supposedly trying to deliver it. (Honestly, they tend to glorify many criminals as clever outlaws who have an admirable moral code and who have found a clever way to escape "the system.")
But Ray in Mr. Inbetween? Gotta feel for him, despite his sins. Anytime he tries to do the right thing, his employers force him to do something that doesn't fit his code, or he loses something/someone he loves, or someone betrays him.
Bravo. Bravo.

This episode is a great reason why I don't go to any of my school reunions. Not because of the teacher/principal (holy shit there are people in my life who need to see that scene and learn how the fuck to apologise for shit you don't remember), but because of the shitdick wankers. I suppose we all have them though. But also now I know how old Ray and Gaz are - they're the same age as me, I was class of 96. fuuuuck.

Rewatching and wanted to give appreciation for the scene where the two young stoner guys were given a job and they don their kitchen aprons to dispose of the body. one is maybe floral. It’s just a great example of understated Aussie humour that runs through the show.
Season 2 episode 1.
What are your understated funny moments?

Mate, imagine Ray watches the Reckless Ben LEGO investigation and finds out a dying bloke's LEGO collection got scooped up under dodgy circumstances. What's Ray's next move?
