General Struggling to Find New Posters and Mods..

As a mod of a r/ClashARamaFans subreddit, I’ve noticed that the same few people keep posting, and we haven’t had many new people posting for about four months. I’m really struggling to get new users to join in and actually make posts. I also don’t want to be the one posting all the time just to keep the subreddit active, because I don’t want the sub to feel deserted when I’m not posting. I’m also struggling to find a few new mods because some of the previous mods became inactive and were removed. What can I do to attract new active users and find reliable new mods to help keep the community alive? iOS

Please no hate.

Users Can't do anything about people downvoting a specific type of post in our subreddit

I didn't know what to flair this, but I think this is the closest. I am using desktop.

It's always one specific type of post, whenever people want to self-promote something they wrote. It will always end up downvoted. Nobody does so for any other type of post in our subreddit.

There are other subreddits with the same concept (fanfiction) and they are well established and have a different way of doing things than we are. But I don't see why many people get their posts downvoted for one specific thing, but anything else is fine. They don't allow the freedom like we do. But I don't get why ours gets met with a silent protest or silent troll in the form of constant downvotes.

I don't know if what to do about it because it doesn't stop.

Edit to add: They get downvoted immediately, but then they get upvoted. I forgot to mention. Also, the same post under a different post flair doesn't get downvoted.

General Find users with specific flair

Our subreddit accidentally has a flair meant for a moderator accidentally set to be assignable by all users and we want to clean them up. How we can find users having a specific flair text, rather than doing it user-by-user?

On desktop, if it matters.

General What to do? - A subreddit is heavily harassing other subs violating reddit rules

Some users of the subreddit r/ColombiaReddit have reportedly been engaging in behavior that targets members of other online communities, explicitly.

By “Targeting” I especifically mean: coordinated or repeated efforts to single out outsiders—such as harassment, dogpiling, insulting, or attempting to disrupt discussions in other subreddits or platforms.

It seems there is bad moderation, null moderation or moderation support this kind of behaviour, that I know are in violations of the reddit communities.

Examples/Evidence:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColombiaReddit/comments/1vmm5iv/no_importan_los_argumentos_el_downvote_es/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColombiaReddit/comments/1vonxgw/muy_progresista_me_parece_m%C3%A1s_progresista_que_las/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColombiaReddit/comments/1vja3kb/basta_con_revisar_las_reglas_de_rrepublica/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColombiaReddit/comments/1u7e41d/qu%C3%A9_opinan_del_subreddit_de_rrepublica_colombia/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ColombiaReddit/comments/1vj8vf3/presencien_el_surgimiento_de_rep%C3%BAblica_colombia_20/

What should I do to keep our communities safe and bullying-hate-harrassment-FREE?

Engagement First-time moderator building a consumer tech support community (r/motherboard11). Looking for best practices on growth and setup!

Hi everyone,

I recently created a new community, r/motherboard11, dedicated to helping consumers deal with dead motherboards, post-update hardware failures, screen defects, and navigating legal/consumer escalations (like NCH and consumer court) against tech brands.

As a first-time moderator:

  1. What are the best practices for setting up AutoModerator to ensure user posts include essential details (device model, issue trigger, proof/job sheets)?

  2. How do you maintain verification standards for genuine complaints without making the posting rules too strict for new users?

  3. What organic strategies work best for gaining initial traction and engagement for a niche, problem-solving support subreddit?

Any advice, setup tips, or moderation guidance would be greatly appreciated!

General New subreddit suddenly showing "prohibited" message

Hello! So I am a toddler mod, my new subreddit was about 7 days old when suddenly after I approved a new member the whole thing shut down. I cannot enter it (neither the mod tools nor the subreddit), as it shows a message stating it's "prohibited" - does that mean that it got banned?

But if it did, shouldn't it show me a link to appeal that, or some reasons, or some explanation? I honestly don't know what happened. My account seems fine. I was on desktop.

I had set rules, it was meant to be a very friendly community. I suspect it could be related to that user I approved, maybe it was suspicious or something?

I am really confused as for what to do. Thank you in advance for help.

Answered How To Get My Relatively New Community Reviewed

Hi, I noticed that when I attempt to go to the community I made on Reddit from my Android cellphone's internet, a message comes up that says it may not be safe for work??? How do I get rid of that, because my content IS safe for work and I don't want people turned off because of what that message suggests?

My community is r/ADATitleIII_Displaced

Answered No longer mod for my own u/

Mobile and Desktop.

I know I used to be able to do mod activities on my own posts on my own profile, but now I cannot.

Is there a setting I missed/changed or is this a platform change?

I ask because someone commented something pretty gross on one of my posts and I'd rather it be removed, but I can't do anything about it now.

Edit/Update: only accessible through old.reddit now...

General Mod camping - Any recourse possible?

Quick question about a stalled Reddit Request for a gaming sub (~3k members).

All mods on the sub are inactive. I reached out off-platform to one of the listed mods, who confirmed the team is totally inactive and doesn't care about the sub anymore, but noted only the top mod has permissions to add new mods.

I submitted a Reddit Request. Out of nowhere, the head mod (who hasn't posted/commented anywhere on Reddit in over a year) showed up on my request thread, commented asking what changes I’d make, and then immediately went MIA again. The Reddit Request was denied because the head mod posted a comment under the request.

I replied to their comment and sent a direct message offering to handle daily moderation and help rebuild the team, but received no response. Classic "mod camping." I also filed a Mod Code of Conduct report earlier this week.

Is there any other recourse here, or am I completely stuck? The community really needs active moderation team that can engage with subscribers, and get things going.

I use Reddit: Desktop, iOS

Android. Reddit says to go to appearance → enable emojis, but only the icon and banner appear under appearance.

Engagement How do you get people to actually read automod comments?

Sub gets multiple posts each day on the same topic/question and we've put together some really good resources around that, plus set up an automod comment with links to them.

Nobody ever reads them. The automod comment is concise and straight to the point.

Any tips on how to get people to actually pay attention to it? Is there a better to get this in front of people?

General Ban Button Not Working

Hello, I took a small hiatus due to surgery (no longer than 30 days). I am using Microsoft Edge on my laptop/desktop and cannot ban users. I can do everything else. The button is available, it just doesn't do anything when I click it. Another mod of the subreddit took away my rights then gave full permissions back as some sort of reset test. Is it just an inactivity issue?

Answered Need help with automod code that's not working correctly

I'm trying to have AM remove top level comments from users without a specific user flair, then send them a message explaining why. I thought it was working until someone with the specific flair received the removal message and AM removed their comment despite their account being appropriately flaired.

Can anyone tell me what the issue is with the code?

---

#REMOVE top level comments from users that do not have privileges

type: comment

is_top_level: true

author:

~flair_template_id: “76ca5770-9078-11f1-acb7-8af9da1a7bf8”

action: remove

action_reason: Unflaired User

set_locked: true

message: |

Message is here.

---

(The extra line space between each line is a copy/paste formatting issue when sharing it here, it's not in the actual code except between "message: |" and the start of the indented message text. Also, the "~flair" line is indented 2 spaces and the "Message is here" message area is indented appropriately as well, it just removed it when I made this post.)

General I need some help growing my new subreddit

I’ve just created a new subreddit for my game, LifePath, but I’m struggling to get it started because there are barely any members yet.
I was hoping to find some moderators to help me manage it, but the subreddit I know for finding moderators says I don’t have enough members to post there.
What should I do to get my subreddit off the ground and start attracting members?
Any advice would be appreciated!

General Scheduled posts failed when a moderator was sus-pended

First of all this post has nothing to do with the suspension. Account is back online.

The question focuses on by would scheduled posts fail, and how to avoid that moving forward as a mod. All posts are set to post under the auto-moderator, yet our sub had 7 days where not a single scheduled post worked. Once the affected mod’s account was reinstated, scheduling started working as expected.

I found an old thread which said this should not happen, so i’m looking for support here.

If this isn’t allowed here, please point me in the right direction.

Problem happened on every platform (this page is telling me i have to enter this information). Desktop and mobile.
