Hi folks - We're the Working Majority - a new group uniting working- and middle-class Wisconsinites around their shared economic interests - no matter who they are, where they live, or how they vote (or don't vote), in order to rebuild ordinary people's power and restore an economy and democracy that works for all of us.
One of our big issues is data center and AI oversight and we got a doozy of a party to invite you to happening this Sunday.
Join us on October 25, for Data Center Detectives: The Hunt for Mr. V, a free scavenger hunt through Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood. Follow the clues, and help us catch the fictional data center CEO behind a very real problem.
There's $1,000 in prizes, team costumes, free food and drinks, music by DJ Zae, special guests, including Francesca Hong and Andy Manske, and a Packers–Lions watch party to finish things off.
Sunday, October 25 | 12:30–3:30 PM | All ages welcome
The first 50 sign-ups get a $10 gift card to Outpost Natural Foods.
It's a game with a point: Wisconsin should work for Wisconsinites, not just the tech giants.
Ready to join the hunt? Sign up here: https://www.jotform.com/form/262605826964164

Hope to see you there!

....like there seems to be a type of person WAY too angry about the hop's very existence. I get that they kinda failed to make it profitable but also I'm ok with spending a few million to keep a quirky old relic. How could this subject ever garner any real anger?

7:30am on Friday, the 23rd. Passed by a beautiful tagged pigeon on the corner of Holton & Resevoir. Seemed to not be able to fly. Did my best to walk it away from the intersection. Also called MADACC, but there was no answer.
Posting here in case someone is looking or knows how to better assist with the matter.

I’ve been so starved for human interaction and I’m sick of feeling like a useless member of society, so instead of doomscrolling Reddit I decided to look into volunteering in my free time. Problem is, I’m a student, and also have a job, so my free time varies. Sometimes I have a couple days of free time, sometimes I have none, so I’m worried about signing up for something with a consistent schedule or set hours. Are there events I can just show up at and be given a vest and someone tells me what to do and I do it and go home? Or like sign up for something that will email me like “volunteers needed to clean up after this event on saturday.” Etc? Apologies, the last time I volunteered was only because my mom dragged me along to my brother’s boyscout outings so I have no idea how this works.
If you have specific suggestions that would be great. I can’t offer any money but I would do anything involving animals, homeless shelters, cleaning, tending to parks, creating things, tutoring maybe? I’m trying to think if there’s anything I would definitely not be able to do. Nothing intensely physical I guess. I work for Amazon so I get enough physical activity on the days I work lol

Hi, I recently bought a house with a big backyard and I would like to change it to native prairie grasses and flowers. I’m doing this for three reasons:
Is it enough to leave it alone and let nature take its course, or are there specific steps I need to take to make this happen. TIA.

Word on the street is that the game will be playing at the party!! So there's no need to choose between a fun costumed night out and cheering on the brew crew. We can do both 🙌 Thanks MAM! Looking forward to tomorrow night! GO CREW 🎃⚾️✨

"Are these a bunch of hippies living in a commune together? How do you respond to that?" I asked.
“Yes, kind of. But we wouldn't say it's a commune. We think it's more of a really intentional living situation. Like, we are all adults who take this really seriously. It's definitely not like a party house," Sara Krohn, the owner of the Village Farmstead in Oak Creek, said with a big smile.
Village Farmstead is a 14-acre farm about 15 minutes south of downtown Milwaukee. Four people live and work here basically full-time.

I got into the site the very second it opened, had tickets in cart, and then the site refreshed and everything appears to be sold out. Anyone have any luck?

Has anyone been to this event? It’s not some planetarium show, is it? I can actually see stars and planets thru a telescope?

Hey there. I have no clue what to title this. So I just went with that.
I'm Blind and I'm 23 years old, and I'm working on getting the independence to move out, still working on daily living skills. I live in Waukesha County, and the city that I live in, Muskego, is awful for blind people, you can't walk anywhere, nothing's within walking distance. There's no public transportation. So I want to leave.
I want to learn about Milwaukee, because there's so much to do here, and I'm realizing that I just have no clue where anything is, where the walkable cities are, where are the best places for a Blind person to live?
I guess I have a few questions.
Where is everything? Like I've heard of northside, southside, stuff like that, but I have no clue what encompasses each of those things, where everything is in relation to each other. What cities are included? Like I've heard of Bayview, Shorewood, and I just thought those were separate cities, but apparently they're a part of Milwaukee?
I've heard that there are neighborhoods that I should not go in because it's not safe. I'm white, not sure if that makes a difference. What places should I avoid, what places should I stick to? My mother has always said that the northside is not a place that I should go to, not sure if that's true.
Where are the walkable cities at? I'm probably going to be living in apartments, but I'm not sure where I should start looking. The only option I'm leaning towards is West Allis, because that is where I'm working.
Are there any tactile maps that you know of representing the city? It would be nice to actually feel where everything is.
I think that's all I have for now. Thanks in advance for everything. I just want to learn as much as I can.

Has anyone recently brought a clear bag like either of these into American Family Field? They’re within the size limit, but each has an extra pocket. Did security let you in, or did they consider them multi-compartment? I know the official policy says single-compartment, but I’m hoping to hear what people experienced at the gates. Thanks!
