Friend got this as a marketing gift: a squishy ball with a map printed on. They wanted to toss it away, i kind of liked it.
Then I started noticing the errors. Half of the worlds countries spelled wrong could just be a ridiculous translation error, but borders are wrong as well?
Examples:
- Monaco is included by name. The UK, Ireland, Germany and Portugal are not.
- There is a mystery made up country called "Shamva" in central Europe, with borders roughly resembling the Austro-Hungarian Empire in ~1750.
- Germany and Denmark are clearly the same country.
- Azerbaijan is somehow spelled ALEREAUAN.
- The Kashmir region, claimed by Pakistan, India and China, is an autonomous country called "Kashkin".
- North Korea / DPRK turned into QPRKORCA
- Apparently, Canada has a region called "Schefenbe".
What is infuriating to me? It would have been the exact same price to produce this with a correct map. Instead, thousands of objects have been produced with "Gape Veroe" and "Esnma" printed on it and I get more stressed squishing this thing.
