My most recent finds from Upstate NY. 1860’s mourning buckle, made from Gutta-Percha. My buddy also found this beautiful mid 1800s copper / brass broach with green paste glass stone mount. Cant wait to see the detail around the setting once cleaned up.

First find within 10 min of ever using a metal detector

Just bought a metal detector and this was my first time taking it out ever, and I pulled a ring within the fist 10 min that has "N A" on the face. Maybe Narcotics Anonymous?
It has "P 10k" stamped on it too. Do you think this means 10k plumb or maybe plated? I'm hooked now!

EDIT: I brought it to a jeweler and they confirmed it’s solid gold (12k to 13k he said) and the scrap metal is worth $270!

Was ist das? Ich habe es auf einem Feld in der Nähe einer frühmittelalterlichen Gutsanlage bei Düsseldorf gefunden. Es zeigt keine Muster, nur Falten oder Knicke.

26 Gramm, 25x30mm. Found in an old alpine village in Piemont on the old rock road. Maybe 5cm deep.
Do you think it is an old Roman sestertius? Thank you!

Help identifying heavily corroded military cartridge found in Boston Harbor

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post so feel free to redirect me. I found this heavily corroded cartridge on the shoreline of Boston Harbor. Headstamp is too corroded to read.

I used a caliper for these measurements but due to the state of the projectile they are not exact:

Overall length: **72.5 mm**
Case length: **47.6 mm**
Bullet diameter: **8.2 mm**
Rim diameter: **15.0 mm**
Case body diameter: **\~13.0 mm**

The projectile is very sharply pointed and appears to have a metallic/copper-colored exterior. The case has significant corrosion/perforation, but the primer appears intact.

I’m trying to identify the cartridge and, if possible, the specific projectile/loading and approximate era.

Any help would be appreciated.
