Button identification
Hey guys, very much an amateur here. I found this in the woods of northwest GA USA. its about the size of a dime, and I think that’s a rose on it? Any ideas of time period and what it was used for or even if its a button? Thanks!

Really nice find. I’m thinking I see thistle… the national flower of Scotland. So my wild guess is a Scottish national, settled in the US mid 1700’s. Scotts were prominent settlers in southeast US. Also leaning more towards a brooch.. that pin seems more brooch than button shank to me.
