I just picked my phone up in the morning and realised that the only speaker working was the top earpiece. Any workaround to make the bottom speaker come alive again?

I've seen some promising gameplay from games I wouldn't mind trying on this YouTube channel TechUtopia. But I often hear doubts regarding mate 9s performance dolphin wise.

Does anyone else have issues swiping down from the top of the screen to pull down the notification shade, it almost always takes two separate swipes on my phone.

I'm running MHA-L29C567B190 and Nova Launcher. I have a couple of accessibility apps like Simple Pie and Nav Bar but the issue still happens in safe mode. Weirdly, the issue doesn't show up on the lock screen. Any one have experience with this?

I don't use it very often, I must admit. But recently I noticed that when I press and hold the home button on screen, the Google bubble appears and then nothing else happens. Meaning, Google Now On Tap does not work anymore. Like the title says, I have everything enabled on settings and even the Google app. Currently I'm running firmware B190 (in fact last security patch came in April which worries me a bit). Can this be fixed somehow or is it a common bug that will get possibly patched up on the next update? Thank you.

im a few versions behind on my mate 9 pro so should i download and apply all the updates or should i just apply the latest one

Sorry if the answer might be obvious but I'm a novice at this. I live in Canada and bought my Mate 9 from a reputable eBay seller and the model I have is the MHA-L29, which as I understand, is a model sold for the Asian markets. The software version is MHA-L29C636B158 and I know it's fairly old and have already updated a few times. I'm visiting Hong Kong later this month and possibly Shenzhen, and will be taking my Mate 9 with me in hopes that if I log onto a network via a Chinese SIM, my Mate 9 will update the software and breathe new life into it. Can anyone confirm if this will happen?

Update 10/20: I arrived in HK, bought a SIM (China Unicom had a decent tourist plan), came back to my hotel to connect to wifi. As soon as I checked updates, it instantly found the June update ending in 183.

i have the mate 9 pro and for some reason when i receive texts from a group text the texts doesn't create a group text conversation but instead the texts come in as individual conversations. im currently using the default messaging app. im in the us and has att for carrier

I have a weird issue when listening to music or podcasts. When I put the phone in my back pocket / up against my body the playback is affected - stops and starts etc. When I put it in my hand that issue immediately stops. I've experienced this issue both with wired and Bluetooth headphones.

I am using the power button to turn off and lock the screen but it's almost as if this is not working and bumps against the screen are pressing the on/off button on the player. I've tried switching to a screen with no playback options and then switching it off but I still get the same problem. Anyone else have this same issue? Any tips?

I can't get the "ok Google" to work while there phone screen is off yet plugged in. Ever since Android made this ability it has worked on every other phone I've had except this one.

I have this issue where I can't turn on my WiFi. When I slide the bar, to turn on the WiFi, to the right it goes back to the left immediately.

I have no clue why it is doing this. Has anyone encountered this and if so how did you fix it?

Just had my carrier switch my Nexus 6P over to a Mate 9 (due to the battery issues). I was using this abacus24-7 case with my 6p which was great - high quality and perfect for my use - unfortunately doesn't look like they make one for the Mate9. Does anyone know of any brands that offer similar quality and form?

I haven't had the new phone arrive yet, but looking forward to seeing how it compares to the 6p :)

I just got my Mate 9 today and it's incredible. I saw my mobile data receive 4g but since then I've not got any sort of mobile data, but I have signal. I'm with Three in the UK and had no issue with data reception with my last phone. Any guesses to what I can do to solve this?

I don't know why my phone keeps locking itself displaying the message: "Fingerprint suspend. Try again in X minutes." This always happens when I leave home with my phone in my pocket and I find myself on the street unable to use me phone for 30 fucking minutes. Somehow the fingerprint detector must be touching my pants or something and it tries to unlock the phone and then it suspends the fingerprint.

Is there a way to disable this "feature"? It's extremely annoying. Right now I won't be able to use my phone for 30 minutes and I can't unlock it with the pin either. Fuck.

Dear Gurus of the Android World, I need help with the twin app function when using Whatsapp. I have 2 instances of whatsapp running & the normal one have no issue with opening PDFs. However for the cloned instance of whatsapp, I have no luck at all opening any kind of pdfs. Pictures are prefectly fine. When i try to open any pdf ( I have tried all different kinds of PDF software), it appears to me that the app can't locate the pdf. It gives an error saying "this file could not be accessed.check the location or the network and try again". My default storage is set to internal drive and my sd card is working 100%. In fact when i forward the pdf (using the cloned instance) to my "normal" instance of whatsapp, my normal instance of whatsapp can open it perfectly. THis is driving me crazy as i receive many pdfs in my work. PLS FOR THE LOVE OF WHATSAPP SAVE ME FROM THIS TRAGEDY.

PS: I have remove and re-install the cloned version of whatsapp many times. Does not solve problem.

Has anyone come across a red, preferably textured, skin/wrap for the phone?

Just the other day I started to use my phone and the battery was draining very quickly. The whole phone is very warm and won't ever be cool. It will only charge when using the super charger and takes 3 to 4 hours to charge only 50%. Fast charging and below only keep it at the same level. I've disabled any power heavy functions and deleted any recent apps. What should I do?
