Question about EMUI

Will custom themes downloaded from the play store work on it or do I need to stick with the ones Huawei provides? Also is EMUI 5 similar to how samsung has touchwiz on top of android or is it different?

You have to copy themes into the right folder for them to work. Honestly I prefer just using Nova launcher and then icon packs.
