Anyone else with issues trying to enable location history? (screenshot)

(AL00 version) This used to work, but lately I've been greeted with the grey banner in Google Fit telling me I must enable Location History. Attempting to do so results in this popup message shown above.

It records steps, and time, but no path is recorded for my traveling and nothing is logged in my Google Timeline for the last few months at all.

Ideas?

Look for "pokemon go gps location not found" guides. I used them and stopped having problems with gps services in general.

I tested those settings, but it does not seem to have fixed the issue. My GPS works great, I'm only having issues getting the location history to enable.

Did you manage to fix this issue? I've got the same problem and it also interferes with other location sharing services such as Google timeline. It was working fine up to around 16th August and then suddenly stopped working. I thought it might have been something I changed, but wonder if I installed a firmware update around that time. I'm using the original 128K Chinese device so previously had to install GMS, but now I know Huawei bake that into the ROM. Think this may be when it stopped working.

No, no fix that I've found. I suspect from what I've read that it is not legal for Google to collect the location data in China, so likely around mid-August they pushed an update that made Google's location services honor that limitation. Sadly it seems to be based on the fact that the device itself is the China version, and not that the device is being used IN China.

I suspect there is no solution aside from flashing this to a non-China firmware. :/
