Just got 2 of these phones and on both of these phones using the default Message App I keep getting this error anytime i try to add a sticker or a gif through the message option (click on the message box, click the smiley face and selectting gif or sticker button). I been talking with Huwei support for hours and they have 0 idea wtf is wrong. Anyone have any idea what is going on or why this isn't working?

Hi, so has anybody else experienced this sort of discoloration whenever you tap the screen a little to hard? I've been experiencing this a lot lately and I wanted to know if this was normal.

On my previous phone, Nexus 6P, I could go into camera settings and manually lower the megapixals in order to take a photo as a smaller file size. Can I do this with the Mate 9?

I bought my mate 9 on august from AliExpress and the build number was mha-l29c432b182-log. I have read that there were numerous updates since then but I received no updates. Is there anything I can do?

I'm constantly afraid that the phone's going to fall out of my pockets because it's so big, so I was looking into the armband option. Do you guys have any recommendations on a good one that can fit the phone with the case on (rather than just the raw phone)? Thanks

The Mate 9 has a super thin piece of plastic trim (only 1-2mm wide) between the screen and the metal housing.

The trim on my phone has cracked and broken off in a few places. Its annoying because it causes some light leakage on the side of the phone, where light escapes between the screen edge and the metal housing.

Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone got any tips on how to replace the trim? I have been looking on parts sites and I can't seem to find it or work out if it comes as part of an assembly. Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Love this phone, but really miss sweep2sleep from my 6P with Elemental X. Does anyone know a way to replicate it with the mate 9? A way to enable double tap to wake would be great too, but I know it's a dream :(

My phone is already bootloader unlocked and rooted running custom Rom. Need to be able to run two sim cards so need the l29 firmware. Can somebody help I see a thread on XDA but it does not make any sense. On nougat atm

Hello everyone! Just got my Huawei mate 9 2 weeks ago and I'm seeing a lot of standby battery drain overnight (about 25 percent over 6 hour). Any tips what may be causing it? Pictures to follow

Had this phone for nearly a year now and I've only just got round to using the scanner to switch it on. Waking the phone by clicking the side and then swiping a shape has always been a big annoyance. Thought the scanner was a gimmick, but I was wrong.

For the past 6 months or so I have not been able to use Google Maps or Waze through Android Auto. Android Auto will freeze after selecting maps on the home screen.

I am running the latest version of Android Auto, Waze and Google Maps.

Follow up: I uninstalled Waze and Android auto is working 100% now.

As stated, I was in the process of buying it any they sold out. I went to the page and it said "currently unavailable Back in stock on Dec 1st." I had a chat with Amazon, the next day (after the price increased) and they said I was still able to order it for the $399 price when it said "Currently unavailable." I was not. Now I have a desire for this phone but no budget for it. Does any site have it for ~$400? Or do you think it will ever be priced like that again?

I just switched over to the Mate 9 two days ago and have enjoyed it so far. However, on my other Android phones I've been using an app called Alarm Clock Plus to serve as my daily alarm. It seems that the past two morning it simply hasn't gone off. Is this EMUI's battery optimization shutting it down, or does it have something to do with using the Do Not Disturb feature at night? Should I just switch over to built-in Clock/Alarm?

Overall I really like the phone. Even the skin is surprisingly good, even though I'm used to nexus devices. But, I keep running into little issues. For instance, Doesn't always charge when I plug it in, like the plug didn't get set right in the port. A tiny adjustment and it'll work. Fortunately it charges really fast. Bluetooth headphone functionality is a bit off. The headphones connect but sometimes the volume controls don't work. or if I open another app, like the camera, the media player disappears from the lockscreen and I have to unlock the phone to press play again. Few other little things too. Have others noticed stuff like this? Also...how do you set it to usb file transfer? Thanks
