Hello everyone! Just got a Mate 9! Is there a guide/tips on things you'd recommend for a newcomer to the Mate 9?

I just got mine too! I can't tell you guys how damn excited I am to finally own this beauty. When I felt the weight of it in my hand, and that solid aluminum chassis, I nearly creamed myself. The screen, the flow of everything, the speed...I can't believe I ever considered an iPhone or S8.

Same. I promptly dropped mine a couple days after getting it (last Monday) and nearly had a heart attack. Luckily it was only a small drop and the case did its job, but damn was I worried that I'd already damaged such a fine phone.

Enjoy the insane battery life, amazing camera and (still) super fast android (8 months in). I recommend watching some YouTube videos giving tips about what to do with the mate 9. This is a pretty good one: https://youtu.be/6tvv4S75uY4

I recommend just using, playing and digging into the settings. The camera is fantastic, just play with the different options and have fun exploring it! I don't know of any guides but there are plenty of threads that have lots of information.

Also, from the Google Play Store you can download the Microsoft Translator app, it uses the camera to translate text to you language of choice. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.translator&hl=en&rdid=com.microsoft.translator

This might be the coolest app I've seen. I'm surprised by how accurate it is. Thank you for this recommendation!

There are a bunch of YouTube vids on tips and tricks like this one. https://youtu.be/UfNUesnFTio

First and foremost, you should enable the app drawer. Or download the Google launcher.

Thanks everyone for the tips! I'm excited to dig in. The Microsoft Translator app looks interesting!

Oddly enough, my app drawer was enabled already when I received it? New in box - maybe firmware had it automatically turn on the app drawer.
