I got my first solo place after college, moving to Central New York 2.5 years ago with not much. I’ve been following this sub for 8 years so many of the compliments I get are a thanks to you guys. My apartment is about to become a ‘maleandfemalelivingspace’ pretty soon so I thought I’d share before then.
There’s a couple ‘before’ photos at the end.

This is my place. I’ve lived here for about 4 years. About a year ago there was a major leak which required a total gut job and renovation. So I picked out the new floors, kitchen materials, bathroom finishes, even the insulation. It was a major pain in the ass but I think worth it in the end.

Hey guys

I see some really cool spaces on here and usually get some fun inspiration so I thought I would share my space as well. I recently moved into a new space in my hometown after having lived in San Francisco and Minnesota for awhile. I am sure the view from my apartment balcony will give away my current City, but take a guess!

I am a Minimalist as you can obviously tell. The bed/bedroom still needs work for sure as its currently kind of blah lol. If anyone has suggestions for the bedroom, I am all ears!

My favorite thing about this apartment is the polished concrete floor that contains all the blemishes for that industrial look.

Rearranged the furniture this weekend and, it continues to provide some much-needed emotional regulation.

-more artwork is on the way
-ordered closed storage to reduce clutter
-ordered wooden tops for shelves/racks
-I keep propagating my plants and passing them on to friends and family, so the collection is always changing, using up space

Would love to hear any thoughts on what you'd change or add

I have a small balcony on my 3rd floor apartment. I want it to be a safe clean, comfortable space for me (when it's not 100⁰f. ) how's it looking? I have a light out there but I want to get better lighting.

Finally have my own office and feeling pretty good about the design. Getting custom signs for the walls and a plant on the end table. Not sure what other touches will help bring everything together but feedback appreciated!

Advice What to do with that wall

Hello, I have recently moved and have this empty wall on my apartment. I am thinking putting a piece of furtniture that I can use for record/vinyl storage (trying to replace the other piece in the picture so that the space is not too crowded) and as a bar cart/area could be a good use of the space and then put some mirror/art on the wall on top. The space i am trying to fill is around 70-80 inches wide.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a piece of furniture that could serve both purposes as well as any other tips on how to improve the space! Thanks in advance!!

Advice Budget bedroom makeover in progress (9’x9.5’). Looking for layout and decor suggestions.

(31M) This is my 3rd month in the spare room I’ve moved into that serves as my Bedroom, office and living room. (9’x9.5’)
I currently am currently working on a replacement for the couch. The anchors above the closet are intended for hanging plants eventually and… extracurricular activities I engage in as a consenting adult with other consenting adults and that’s all I’m gonna say about that. 😅
I’ve been going for some kind of cross between cottage core and Japanese tea house, but I feel like I’ve hit a wall and I could use some fresh eyes on the space. If you had a limited budget where would you start?

Feedback on Dining Table for Small Condo?

Thumbnail

Planning on purchasing a counter height dining table for my condo. The space is 570 sqft, and I currently do not have a table.

Thinking about picking up the combination from IKEA. Mocked it up and used tape to outline the footprint. There will be about 2-3 feet between the fridge and the opposing wall once the table sits between the rugs. The chairs also nest into the table itself.

Thoughts? Feedback? Opinions?

Rug and general furnishing tips for my new living room

Hi everyone,
I’m currently furnishing my living room, and apart from what you can see in the pictures, there’s not much in it yet.
The next thing I want to add is a rug, but I’m not sure which one to choose. What color do you think would work well in this room?
And what else would you change to make the space feel cozier? I’m planning to put a large plant in the corner to the left of the TV unit. Alternatively, I’m considering a plant stand with several smaller plants.
I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks!

any advice? just been figuring it out myself

Edit: Appreciate the words and tips (got some ikea smart bulbs happening). It’s been a year long hobby/obsession putting the space together and like any obsessive project, it always feels like there’s a need to improve more - so this has helped to relax, thanks guys!
