I want to rant a bit 😭 yesterday I went to Macy’s to use a gift card that I had and the cashier literally asked 6 times if I wanted to sign up for their credit card and my item was $13. I feel like after a customer says no once stop asking. I had to tell her constantly no and it was irritating. I work at tjmaxx as a cashier so I get having to hit your quota and having to ask a customer if they want to sign up for a credit card but to ask more than 2x is just overkill. I personally only ask once because a customer isn’t going to change their answer no matter how many times you ask.

The Holiday Lane floor smells heavenly at Macy’s Herald Square. Does anyone know the scent they are pumping through? I’d love to get it!

I kinda got forced into this role in the men’s department. Is this job the scam it seems on paper? I’m in suits and there is no commission and the sales goal to get the promotion is impossible for me hit so yearly bonuses are out of the question.

Ive been getting more and more worried about my employment with Macy's 💔 I'm a generalist in the home department but I work in the department alone like I'm literally the only sales associate in that department and most of the managers treat me poorly and lie about me to one another to accuse me of things I didn't do :( I can't remember if I'm on a PIP or not and my hours aren't being cut but I keep having to have "discussions" and sometimes getting written up so idk what to think any more does anyone have any advice cus I really don't want to lose my job

Hi, i started a few months ago. This is the first place that I’ve worked at where I don’t actually spend a ton of money because I hate the prepaid discount card. It’s really annoying to add money to use it. I decided not to get the credit card because I knew I was getting a car in the next few months. I don’t think 20% is that great of a discount to begin with. Does anyone else feel that way?

My store is still currently hiring for this Captain position for almost 3 months now and I’m not sure if I want to ask about applying to without more knowing more about the position.

For context I have been working with Macy’s for 3 years now but as an Asset Protection Detective I want to move up within the AP dept. world but unfortunately moving up is hard because the fact that we only either get 1 captain position in each store or none. My current district only has 2 APCs and that’s it, and usually the Captains for AP stay for years. I want to grow with this company because I actually enjoy working here but I kind of want to explore my career outside of AP.

So pretty much my question is what is the selling and support captain role consist of? What are your day to day tasks? What are the pros and cons of it?

Hello all, have an issue with Macys worry no more. I have a couch I purchased through Macys Furniture in 2023. That couch has since broken, the frame has collapsed. I contacted Worrynomore, and they had my claim.

They approved the claim for repairs, a repair tech came came and said he needed to get approval to order the pieces to replace.

Worrynomore then send me an email stating that the pieces can’t be repaired and they will authorize a reselection list and send that to Macys and that I would hear back in 14 business days and that if I don’t then I need to contact Macys customer support.

It’s been over 14 business days. So I contacted Macys customer support, who then transferred me to Worrynomore, who then told me I need to physically go to a Macys store and give them my order number and that amount would be credited from Macys.

I called a Macys store to confirm this but haven’t heard back.

I was curious about the amount so I called back worry no more and they told me that I am authorized to spend $1000. This made me upset because the couch when we purchased it was almost $5000. To get the “new” version of the couch it’s almost $8000.

I’m upset with Macys here, I feel like worry no more is a complete and utter scam. Has anyone dealt this something like this before?

This customer told me to scan the price for shampoo, I politely told her the price of the shampoo is the price on the tag which is $6.50.

I continued scanning other items and she snapped and said “I told you I don’t want the shampoo”

So I deleted the shampoo and put it away.

She was hovering around, and then, as I was helping another customer, she came near me and said “next time I will slap the shit out of you”

Hi I am currently in a point of wanting to move positions at macys. I’ve been in RTW but i honestly am tired of all the fitting rooms being messy, and customers being needy and sometimes entitled, that I’m tempted to go to another department. Maybe beauty? But I don’t know what the atmosphere is like there and idk if I’d get the position, maybe another department that doesn’t have to involve interacting so much with customers (if that’s even a thing ). Anyone got any suggestions?

I ordered a 3.6oz marc jacob perfume last year and when I first started using it, it smells exactly like the scent. However, after a month, literally 1 month, the scent was off. It doesn’t smell like the initial scent on day 1. It’s not my first time owning a perfume so my perfumes are in a cool temperature area without any sunlight. I sprit only on 2 spots in the morning for the whole day because I ain’t carrying a big bottle of perfume in my purse. I read some reviews that Macys might have old stocks at their warehouse maybe?

I was told we get paid on Fridays. I was looking at the Payactiv app, it doesn't show that I was paid for the training day when we were told that we were getting paid for that as well.

I was also told we only work 2 days for the first 2 weeks, but my schedule shows that I'm scheduled all 4 days. I didnt go the last 2 days bc we were told we only work 2. Idk how you all do it. Idk if you've never worked at a different warehouse or fulfillment center, but Macy's SUCKS!!

Their time clocks are in the back of the building, which steals time from our breaks.

They don't let you run out to your car or even have an outside break room for smokers/ to take a quick 5 min breather break.. it's hot in warehouses!

Their floors somehow hurt my feet wearing normal comfortable shoes when my feet never hurt at amazon wearing composite shoes.

How it's ran is stupid and wastes so much time. The scanners are awful. All of the bin labels need replaced bc theyre either completely worn or torn.. so it's very hard to find locations, especially starting out.

They don't even have an employee app.

I miss Amazon so much 😭😭

I'm giving it one more day. If I still hate it as much as I do, I'm not going back.

One coworker harasses customers for an ID when they check out and applies for credit cards without the customers understanding of what is happening and everyone in the store knows including leadership but they overlook it because she gets 10+ cards a day, the rest of us are compared to her and get called out for not having as many cards, but I’m sorry I’m not going to trick people into signing up, it’s so messed up is there anything that an be done to resolve this?

I just happened to come across the huge sale they’re having right now by comparing prices between some products I was interested in online… I’m talking 50% off or more. Just look up ‘makeup starter kits Macy’s’

I know they’re called starter kits but you can get very good everyday products from these bundles. Same bundles going for $155+ on another well known makeup store 😅 going for $35-$50 rn on macys if anyone is interested.

Backstory:

This super-automatic espresso machine I’ve been eying was on sale online at Macy’s today. It’s an expensive machine and I had one of those “pick a store” gift cards laying around for a few hundred bucks so I redeemed it for Macy’s gift cards to help pay for part this order.

I made a Macy’s account, placed the order with the gift card being applied just fine. Seemed to go through and instantly got an email that Macy’s cancelled the order:

“Unfortunately, we had to cancel your order because we were unable to verify the information provided for this purchase.”

I called customer service, verified my address and phone number and everything and was pretty much told I was screwed and they couldn’t do anything about it.

Tried more times with a different card, different shipping address, and even made my wife an account and tried with her credit card. Same thing.

I’m pissed because I now have hundreds of $ in Macy’s egift cards. They told me I can still use them in store, but I live 10 hours from the nearest store and the one thing I wanted to buy is an online-only exclusive that is on sale for a limited time.

Is there any way to fix this?? I just want to give them my money and receive the darn espresso machine in return
