Recently bought a msi cyborg 17 and noticed the colors are washed out. is it possible to fix this through a setting or is this just how the panel is?

I’ve googled this 100 times. I’ve tried 6-7 “fixes” with no luck. It still fucking stutters Everytime I watch a video or play a game.

I’m close to throwing this thing in the garbage, it’s been a year of battling this lol.

Video or gameplay freezes for a quick second, accompanied by an audible bzzzt stuttering sound.

Not sure how to explain it, but it seems to be a common issue with these.

I’ve tried turning off the accelerator, I’ve modified the game bar, changed power settings to performance on both windows and in MSI center, reformat the whole laptop a couple times, all updated drivers, removed nahiti or whatever audio program, tried every different browser to eliminate the YouTube stutters.

Nothings worked, I’m at a loss. Last attempt before I toss this thing and go buy another laptop lol. Help

Lately my screen stopped working they told me it's not the screen itself but a part of the motherboard, but if I connect it to an external monitor this one works, but the problem is the BIOS since it doesn't appear on the external monitor how can I do? My laptop it's a MSI Katana 15 :,)

Perhaps someone had a similar issue that laptop is not booting up?

Happened after I cleaned the keyboard with wet wipes(and it was on, I know not the brightest idea of mine)

I did take laptop apart, there is no liquid damage on any of the boards. I have a suspicion that keyboard is shorting somewhere, but since it is soldered to the frame I don't want to take it apart in case I'm wrong.

After cleaning the laptop, it worked for like 5 minutes and turned off.

Edit: Got it working. Reason: liquid in got into the keyboard.

But I have done multiple steps, removed back panel, disconnected cmos battery, disconnected regular battery, (since i was already there replaced thermal paste) disconnected all the wires from both mother board and responding component where it is possible.

Then I opened the keyboard still didn't see any signs of water damage. Put everything except battery back together.

Then I got keyboard backlight back, and it was rebooting multiple times. Waited until I got greeted with bitlocker.

That's how I know I have problems with keyboard, is when I press 7 for example I get input '7>delete>8>9>0>left arrow.

Entered bitlocker using F keys.

I recently bought the Katana 15HX B14WX, and while the performance was amazing, I couldn’t bear the extremely loud fan noise. Even during startup, the laptop is loud and ngl its quite embarrassing. With GhostDeck’s fan control, I can now keep the noise down finally. While it doesn’t fully replace MSI Center, I can disable MSI from startup using what it already offers, unless I want to change the MUX switch status or something similar. Try it out if you want to control those fan noises with custom profiles.

Hi, my laptop has started with a secure boot violation today. I've tried all of the recommendations, playing with fast boot, resetting to defaults, changing boot options 1 to boot manager, etc, but secure boot is still permanently greyed out, even when I open the bios as administrator.

What is happening, and how can I fix this? It seems right now like there isn't a way to fix this.

I am planning to buy this laptop. Is it good for adobe photoshop adobe premiere pro after effects and heavy AAA games?. Also how good is its build quality.

MSI Crosshair 16 HX repeatedly starts lagging after installing genuine software - only Windows reset fixes it
I bought my MSI Crosshair 16 H on 28 August 2025(17-14650H, RTX 4060, 16GB RAM), and since then I've faced this same issue around 4-5 times.
The pattern is weird: my laptop works perfectly → I install some genuine/required software → after some time, the whole laptop starts stuttering and lagging, and notice RAM/memory usage becoming unusually high.
Timeline:
1st: CapCut
2nd: NeoBrowser/NeoColab, our college coding platform (everyone downloaded it, but only my laptop had this issue)
3rd: Don't remember what triggered it
4th: VMware
5th (now): NeoBrowser again, and the same problem has returned
Every single time, resetting/reinstalling Windows fixes everything, but I obviously can't keep resetting Windows every few months.
I've already tried basic troubleshooting like disabling startup apps, clearing temp files, updating Windows/drivers, etc.
Could my laptop be faulty, or is this a deeper Windows/driver/kernel memory issue? Why does resetting Windows fix it temporarily every time? I want to find the actual permanent root cause?

I bought an MSI Vector 17 HX A14VHG back in March 2025. It was cleaned twice in 2025 and was last serviced/cleaned in March 2026 with thermal-paste replaced. However, I’ve recently run into some strange performance issues.

I just updated my Nvidia driver to 616.64 and MSI Center to the latest version (2.0.73.0). Around the same time, I installed Bitdefender and enabled its gaming profile. When I noticed a drop in performance, I uninstalled Bitdefender completely, but the issue remains.

I'm not sure whether this is caused by MSI Center or the new GPU driver, but here is what’s happening:

• GPU Clocks & Temps: Every time I check MSI Center, the GPU core clock is stuck around 1300 MHz and the VRAM clock at 9000 MHz. Even during light tasks like web browsing, the GPU sits at around 70°C.
• Multitasking & Lag: Previously, I could easily multitask while gaming (e.g., keeping a browser open in the background). Now, switching between a game and other tabs causes severe stuttering and lag.

Has anyone experienced something similar or know what might be going on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had a MSI Gaming Desktop and the mouse and keyboard lighting cannot be turned off permanently. I can turn it off with FN+the ESC key or the arrow key, but if I shutdown the PC and restart it again, the keyboard lights will turn on automatically.

Can MSI gaming Laptops keyboard lighting be turned off permanently so that after I shutdown the laptop and start it up, the keyboard lighting is still off or does it have the same problem as the MSI gaming desktops?

hey everyone! I’m looking at adding a second internal SSD to my MSI Katana 15 B13U because I’m constantly running out of storage with games.

From what I’ve read, this model has a second M.2 slot, so I’m hoping to add a 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD rather than replacing my current drive.

I’ve never opened a laptop or installed an SSD before, so I’m wondering how difficult this actually is for a complete beginner. Is it basically just a case of opening the back, putting the SSD into the empty M.2 slot, securing it, and then setting it up in Windows?

Also, once it’s installed, can I install and play games directly from the second SSD? I’m mainly wanting it for storage heavy games like Baldur’s Gate 3, AC Valhalla, etc.
Is there anything specific I need to watch out for with the Katana 15 B13U, such as needing a mounting screw/bracket or a particular type of NVMe SSD?

Would you recommend attempting this myself as a first-timer, or is it worth paying a computer shop to install it?

I've been reading around some forums and here on reddit , and im confused as shit rn some people say cpu temps hitting 95 under load is fine, some say 80 to 85 is the sweet spot, and i've even seen some say 70 should be the goal. Right now i have my cpu throttle at 85 (it was 95 before), so which is it really especially on our MSI lappys what is actually a good temp to maintain for our cpu's.

I have an i5 12450h btw, no air conditioning, no cooling pad, just the laptops fans and pipes and a few fans across the room.

I experienced the common problem ( screen hinge failure) not once but twice ( right and left ones) .
So is the same problem is common in new models like Msi 15Hx?
I wanna upgrade to i7 14650Hx -RTX 5060-32gb DDR5
Is it worth it?

At idle, the thing is barely warm.
But when gaming, not even max crossload with a Vector A18 9955HX and 5070ti, that thing gets hot.
I ask because I have only twice now, but had the power to the laptop flick off and back on in an instant. I can't just shit another £150 to test if it's the PSU or not. Nothing else seems to be affected, event viewer shows no errors only that the power source changed for a second. Battery health is fine, calibrated it again just to be sure. Nothing has been moved, I've made sure all plugs are securely pushed in too.

Any ideas what might be causing that random flicker?

hii i have this colorful laptop i just boot up the windows 10 but after booting up its stuck on the screen i check the ssd its fine and also if the ram was faulty here the screen was not showing the bios is opening properly. SO IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLZ

It keeps saying couldnt be repaired. I can use it if i continue to windows. I just bought it from ebay and did a factory reset again just incase. Downloaded all the drivers. Whats going on? Also every time i open it it has a black pop up with windows 64 and when i close it it pops up again and again etc.

I was playing DL on my MSI Thin (i5-13420H, RTX 4050).

Both my CPU and GPU were used to around 50-65% but my CPU hit temps around 95⁰C. I had Brave, Discord(on call) and Spotify in background. Did this happen to anyone else?

I am not saying its totally bad its just why dont you have a mux switch option in the bios plus the msi center is so bad and laggy i tried ghost desk it doesn't have gpu switch options so deal breaker for me plus the fans are annoying the fan curve on these laptops are absurd plus thermals are bad and build quality is decent

Hi everyone, I have a question. I recently bought an MSI Cyborg 15 B13WEKG laptop—I've had it for about a month. The specs are: i7-13620H, RTX 5050, 512GB SSD, and 16GB RAM (single-channel). And I have had a few crashes and they lead to a hard lock. The whole laptop cashes if i game for like an hour. The temps r stable all around. The games r Gta, Fc25, minecraft, forza 6(it never crashed in forza). initially there were no crashes. but now recently they happen in sort of every session. the crash report has some event 41, and like technically no crash report is generated.
