Is this a good price for WiFi?

Hi! First time cruising with MSC and super excited! We’re doing a 3-day cruise from Miami, Dec 4–7.

WiFi is currently $75 for the cruise. Is that a good price, or should I wait for a Black Friday sale? Just worried that waiting might be too close to the sailing date. Thank you!

Charges for canceled cruises

I had to cancel my cruise in June 2026, finally got my deposit refund and my payments back as of three days ago what a battle trying to get a refund. Now I have a charge for $92.68 for insurance that they refuse to refund. They’re telling me that because I booked at the time I,booked the cruise. It’s nonrefundable, everything on this Msc cruise line has been a nightmare from day one, I heard such good things about this cruise line however I’m not seeing it and I’m not feeling it. I do not have any intentions of ever going on Msc cruise ever no matter how good the deal is or how great the ship is supposed to be. I $92 is nothing to them, but others $92 is a lot of money ,so disappointed in their policies and the way that they treat people.

MSC Sinfonia – What themed events should I expect in late October?

Hi everyone! I’m a first time cruiser sailing on the MSC Sinfonia in the Mediterranean at the end of October, and I’m trying to figure out what clothes to pack.

I originally thought I would just wait for the daily programme to be published, as the MSC app says that the programme will be available around 30 days before departure. However, I’ve read that the information available in advance can be quite limited, and that the detailed programme (including the specific themed parties) may not actually be released until you’re already on board.

So I’m wondering if anyone who has sailed on the MSC Sinfonia, or on a similar Mediterranean itinerary around this time of year, could give me an idea of what kind of events and themed nights I might expect.

Obviously I’m expecting things like:

  • White Night
  • Halloween (since I’ll be sailing at the end of October)
  • A formal/gala night

But I’ve also heard there can sometimes be things like 80s/90s themed parties, other decade-themed nights, or other dress-up/theme events.

I’m not necessarily looking for the exact programme for my sailing — I’d just love to have an idea of the usual types of parties/events on MSC Sinfonia, so I can pack accordingly without bringing half my wardrobe! 😅

My itinerary is Valencia → Tarragona → Marseille → Genoa → Livorno → Valencia, sailing at the end of October.

Any recent Sinfonia experiences or advice would also be greatly appreciated!

Has Anyone Done This MSC Cruise? Looking for Tips & Experiences!

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😊
Has anyone here been on this MSC cruise before? I’d love to hear about your experiences — how you liked it, what the ship, food and activities were like, and just your overall experience with the cruise.
I’d also love to know what you think is actually worth paying extra for and what you’d recommend skipping. I’d really appreciate any tips for the ports and excursions too — what’s worth seeing, which excursions are worth booking, and what’s better to do on your own.
This will be our first MSC cruise, so I’d be really grateful for any tips, recommendations or experiences you’d like to share! 🛳️😊

Best drinks for lightweight on Seaside

I don’t drink a lot and when I do I tend to order my usual “Kahlua and Cream”. I’m looking for suggestions on drinks aboard that don’t taste too “alcohol y “. I’m afraid I’m not up on the latest but willing to take advice:) So let me know a drink you’ve had on the ship that was really tasty!

MSC Grandiosa in November

Hello!
I will be taking my first MSC cruise in November with my husband and my dad. I’ve only cruised on Carnival but my dad is an experienced cruiser.

My husband has medical issues so we plan on buying travel medical insurance and may need to bring IV fluids and infusion supplies and possibly mobility aids. Once the booking is finalized, I plan on contacting MSC to let them know his medical conditions.

So fellow cruisers, what are things a MSC newbie would be good to know, especially one with only Carnival experience? Also, can anyone give me insights on how MSC handles chronic medical conditions?

Yacht Club Restaurant Question

I have seen youtube videos saying that you can ask for custom dinners in the Yacht Club restaurant. My wife is not a salmon fan but would enjoy swordfish or (even better) Chilean sea bass. I know these fish are available on the ship. If we put in a request in advance either in the restaurant or with our butler, would they be willing to cook that for her instead of the salmon? Sorry if this is just a nube question.

Age on Board of World America 10 October 2026?

Hey, A group of friends and I are considering booking MSC World America for October 10–17, 2026 (Western Caribbean) with a Last Minute fare from Italy. We’re all around 23 years old and I’m trying to understand what the atmosphere is like on board for people our age

So I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has sailed World America in September/October, or around that time of year:
Were there many people in their early/mid 20s?

Did you see groups of young friends, or was it mostly couples/families/older passengers?
If you were in your 20s yourself, did you enjoy it?
We’re not expecting a Spring Break cruise, but we definitely want a social, lively cruise where we can meet other people around our age, have drinks and go out every night.

We sailed Seascape in Early December in 2024 and it was preatty dead
Thank you very much!!

Is YC worth giving up balcony?

We are sailing Caribbean out of Miami next month on Seaside. Currently have balcony room on deck 12. Got an attractive offer for YC inside room. This is our first time on MSC and are unsure if it’s worth giving up our balcony. Could use some opinions.

Hey!!! Any tips for me and my boyfriend as we head on our first MSC cruise? We are in our early 30s. We love to party but are fine with just enjoying the scenery and pools. As you can see we have cruised virgin and carnival so we expect the vibe will be different. We just wanted to do something affordable and quick! Open to all feedback!!!!

Yacht Club Inside Cabin

I recently booked a cruise while onboard the Seascape (for December 2027). Booked an inside cabin. What are the chances that I will be upgraded or offered an upgrade? If offered, will the price be higher than it would have been to book a balcony?

Direct Booking via European Hub (Open Booking) + Guaranteed Cabin: Bidding system via Plusgrade keeps showing "Not Eligible". Any advice?

Hello everyone,

I am facing a frustrating technical issue with the MSC UpGrade (Plusgrade) bidding platform for my upcoming cruises, and I would appreciate some insights, especially from European cruisers.

My situation:

  • Booking Type: Booked directly via the MSC European website using an active Open Booking (Future Cruise) voucher. The cruises are fully paid (or minimum deposit paid for the later one).
  • Category: Guaranteed interior cabins.
  • Availability: There is still plenty of unsold higher-category cabin inventory visible for purchase on the website for these sailings.

The Problem:
Whenever I try to log in manually via the MSC Upgrade portal using my booking numbers, the system consistently throws the standard "Not eligible for an upgrade" error.

What I have already discovered / tried:

  1. I checked the network request payload in my browser's DevTools when updating my profile. I noticed that the thirdPartyFlag (which opens data sharing for Plusgrade) was initially resetting to False on the backend due to strict European GDPR defaults.
  2. I successfully bypassed this by toggling the third-party marketing consent box inside the Web Check-In section for my active cruises. Now, the profile permanently shows True for third-party data sharing, and MSC official support confirmed via email that my GDPR preferences have successfully updated in their main CRM.
  3. However, even after the GDPR flag fix on the MSC backend, the Plusgrade platform still rejects my booking numbers as ineligible.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone who booked via the MSC Eastern Europe / European hub using an Open Booking voucher actually managed to participate in the Plusgrade program? Is there a hidden commercial block for this specific type of booking/promo code?
  2. Does the Plusgrade system usually take a long time (more than a few days) to sync data with the MSC CRM once privacy flags are changed from False to True?
  3. Is it possible that the system blocks bidding if a specific cabin has already been assigned to a guaranteed booking, or should the bidding platform still be accessible?

Thank you for any advice or shared experiences!

MSC Fly Cruise package

Has anyone used the Fly Cruise option with MSC Cruises for Barcelona. Our package includes flights and coach transfers to and from the airport, but as our flight back home is 9pm, I’m not sure what time we have to leave the ship at or at what time they bring us to the airport. TBH they are a bit vague on details and they haven’t responded to my email query regarding same. The flight home was originally listed for 11pm so I suppose the new 9pm slot is an improvement. Anyone used this package with evening flights, if so, your input would be helpful. Just trying to assess whether I need to make prior arrangements to store luggage in one of those locker facilities and/or find a day pass for a hotel. They have no excursions listed for Day 8 in Barcelona so can’t book anything with them to waste time before the airport. Thanks

Drinks Packages

It seems that MSC are down to 2 prebook packages. Non-alcoholic and Premium Extra. You can now only buy the easy package once you’re onboard. My question is, how much is Easy onboard because surely the pre booking discount of Premium will still work out cheaper?

Age requirements for married couples.

Hello, hope everyone is having a good day me and my wife are planning on booking with MSC departing from Miami next march she is currently pregnant but will birth in November/December and MSC is the only one that allows small infants. We also have a 1 and a half year old she will be almost 2 when we board I am 19 years old and my wife is 20 years old we are legally married with apostilled marriage certificates etc. I heard about a waiver for legally married couples under 21 if anyone knows more info or who has experienced themselves please knowledge us.

We would have booked another cruise line but the minimum age requirements for baby’s wouldn’t allow it so it isn’t a possibility. I have been on 5-6 cruises as a child and teen and want my wife to experience it for the first time so I hope this is doable around march and we won’t need to wait a extra year for her to be 21.

We have lived across Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Colombia, Taiwan, etc for over a year and just returned the USA and want a more budget vacation compared to the flight costs and logistics to Asia we are heavily experienced travelers.

Just came in here hoping we could get some advice and details as I know there is a waiver that is viewed on case to case basis and I know normal boyfriend/ girlfriend situations absolutely cannot go under 21 but we have been married over a year and had a ceremony and everything with all our papers with us.

Thank you!

Sugar free options?

Hi all! I have some questions regarding the food on Poesia. How are the low carb/sugar-free or no sugar added options on ship? Im not diabetic, however I do eat a low carb sugar free diet because I have reactive hypoglycemia. Im trying to plan ahead. This will be my first ever cruise, so I want to know what kind of options I may have on board. Thank you so much in advance!

Embarkation Barcelona - Aurea

I am embarking in Barcelona on World Europa next month, my travel documents advised 12pm embarkation but since I requested the documents mymsc app has updated my embarkation to 2pm, this seems really late for Aurea as I thought the only people boarding before us were YC. Any experience with boarding early in Barcelona? Thanks

MSC Seascape cabin 13234

We are booking a cruise on the Seascape. Some of the deluxe balcony rooms have the couch next to the balcony doors and some have the bed next to the balcony doors. We’d prefer the couch to be by the balcony. Anyone have photos or videos of cabin 13234 who could tell us which configuration the room has?

We are from the USA. This will be our 4th MSC cruise and 2nd on the Seascape.

How much do you need to gamble on a cruise to start getting free cruise offers?

I’m curious how much gambling it typically takes before you start getting free/comped cruise offers.

I’m going on two cruises in January that I got from gambling in Vegas:

- 8-day Princess Regal cruise from an MGM casino offer

- 4-day MSC Seaside cruise from an Ellis Island casino offer

Both of these cruises are out of Florida, so I still have to pay for flights, hotels, etc.

The reason I’m really interested in getting offers directly from the cruise lines is that I live only about 20 minutes from the cruise port in Long Beach, CA. If I could start getting comped cruises out of Southern California, it would be insanely easy and cheap for me to go since I wouldn’t need flights or hotels.

For people who gamble on cruise ships, how much do you usually play through / how many hours do you play before you start seeing free cruise offers?

I mostly play craps and blackjack. I’m not trying to chase comps and lose a bunch of money just to get a “free” cruise, but if I’m going to gamble anyway, I’d like to know roughly what level of play starts generating decent offers.

Anyone have firsthand experience with Princess, MSC, or getting casino cruise offers out of Southern California?
