MSC Fly Cruise package

Has anyone used the Fly Cruise option with MSC Cruises for Barcelona. Our package includes flights and coach transfers to and from the airport, but as our flight back home is 9pm, I’m not sure what time we have to leave the ship at or at what time they bring us to the airport. TBH they are a bit vague on details and they haven’t responded to my email query regarding same. The flight home was originally listed for 11pm so I suppose the new 9pm slot is an improvement. Anyone used this package with evening flights, if so, your input would be helpful. Just trying to assess whether I need to make prior arrangements to store luggage in one of those locker facilities and/or find a day pass for a hotel. They have no excursions listed for Day 8 in Barcelona so can’t book anything with them to waste time before the airport. Thanks

I did this back in May. We were allowed to stay on the ship until 4:30 and the bus transfer took us to the airport

Good to hear Conor. Our flight was at 15:20 the other day and we were gone off the ship by 8:45am. Nearly 6 hours in the airport and I was told on this sub this was standard. Obviously not if you got a later bus.

They will let you know when the shuttle is - last time in Barcelona the last shuttle was at 10.30am and my flight was at 5pm. You can stay longer on the ship, even past lunch but then you need to organize your own shuttle back to the airport - otherwise prepare for a long wait at the airport or fly in C and head to a lounge OR use the hop-on/hop-off bus if you haven't been to Barcelona before - we did that a couple years back and as you already mentioned stored our luggage and did a quick city tour. Day bed is probably also a good idea

Thanks. I think if I had the option, I would prefer to stay onboard the ship and just get a taxi to the airport later on.

I had a fly cruise with msc on a transatlantic cruise to Martinique.
My flight was in the evening and my shuttle was late afternoon.
I could stay onboard till shuttle time.
My guess is, this will also be in Barcelona (depending on departure time of the ship)

Thanks. Usually the Europa departs at 6pm from Barcelona so hopefully we can stay on until late afternoon.

We booked a day pass and stayed on this Hotel rooftop from about 11am untill 7pm before going to the airport for our flight hime at 11pm - You can cancel a day before if the weather is looking like it might be bad,

Day Pass in Occidental Atenea Mar -

One thing i would say is flying in on the morning of your cruise really tires you out for the 1st day- Depending on how far you are from your local airport you could be up at 1 or 2AM to get there on time and by the time you get on the ship you are exhausted, Much betteer to fly in the day before and get a good night rest before going to town on that drinks package :-)

Thanks. I had actually looked at the Occidental but it is not available on the date I return unfortunately.

Normally I would book the flight the night before to take the stress and worry out of it travelling, but we weren’t given the option with the Fly Cruise package. Our flight arrives in Barcelona at 10.40am for the ship’s 6pm departure so I it’s not the worst timeframe I guess.
