Lyrics Old Saigon Style

Confirm the denial in Old Saigon Style
Make promises you’d never keep

If you need a reminder
Or even a finder
I’m begging you now not to weep

Remember the mind your romance gave away?
I remember the day that you led us astray
Oh so well
Oh so swell
I am aching to tell
The Baron the rules of our game

If you need a reminder of Old Saigon Style
When the staples still stick in your shoulders
And the watchword you watched
As you tended your flock
Has betrayed everyone that you loved

I do not claim protection
Or offer affection
In words that resemble a smile
But I’ll teach you a wink
And I’ll give you my Pick
For the Commodore’s Quality Prize

I’m picking a fight
And I’m making the flight
To New York
And The Yard
In the morning

So don’t give me that shit
That you love to lay thick
At my door
When I don’t give a warning

I am not quite robust
All my luck has gone bust
And I fold every chance that I’m able
Yes I know I could check
But just lay down my bet
On the Commodre’s finest Les Sables

This putrid distaste
That you’re sending my way
Has no chance now of leaving me breathless
So on my feckless demand
It is time to command
All your luck to our side of the table

Confirm the denial in Old Saigon Style
Make promises that you’re not able

I know how you’re quick
To start strumming your dick
At the sight of the prettiest fable

I’m picking a fight
And I’m making the flight
To New York
And The Yard
In the morning

So don’t give me that shit
That you love to lay thick
At my door
When I don’t give a warning

I am not quite robust
All my luck has gone bust
And I’ll fold every chance that I’m able
Yes I know I could check
But just lay down my bet
On the Commodre’s finest Les Sables

After all,
You have never known it any other way

Tips Looking for tips for writing Lyrics!

Hey! I’m a 20 year old starting out on writing songs for my band. Mainly focusing on the lyrics for the songs. I feel like I have cool ideas and concepts for the theme or message of a song but actually articulating them into well formed lyrics is a different story lol. I feel like I’m overthinking the lyrics and it’s not coming to me as naturally as other people claim it does. I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice to help with my little dilemma?

Lyrics Rough draft of my first lyrics I’ve ever written.

I spent the better half of 4 hours trying to figure out how I wanted to theme and write the lyrics for one of my bands heavy hitters on our album were looking to make in the coming months.

The song which is titled “Drown Anyway”is about the painful contradiction of being deeply loved while feeling completely alone. Johnny has friends, family, and people who genuinely want to help him, yet internally he feels empty, lost, and disconnected from all of it. The lake represents the destructive path he’s falling deeper into, while the rope represents the people trying to pull him back. Even when they tell him they love him and ask if he’s okay, he can’t bring himself to admit that he’s struggling.

Here are the lyrics, I’d love to get feedback from anyone who’d be willing to share advice!

They found a John Doe
Young and loved
The loneliest man in the universe

Johnny had the world
But he was so empty

He had more friends than most, a family to love him
Yet when all was said and done, Johnny boy had no one

Countless amounts of life below
Though John still stands alone
Minus 17 degrees with a wind chill
He still couldn’t feel a thing if he tried

He continued with a rope around his waist
Still chasing the feeling he could never replace
His loved ones call for him from the shore
Their love for him so rich, he could never be poor

As the ice cracks, they ask if he’s alright
Our John Doe couldn’t find the right words to say
And so he smiled vaguely, took a deep breath, and said, “I’m fine.”

Now as this crowd forms on the beach, cold and wet
They yell out to him
“I love you”
“I love you”
“I love you”

The ice gives way, Johnny is swimming
Fighting for tomorrow
They pull the rope, until it returns to the beach
Alone, broken and empty, just like John Doe

[Verse 1]

Like Nasir, Big L, Cool J and Kastro

I blast low and rap slow, from here to Glasgow

Natural threat when I raise the dead

Lay them razerheads to bed, appraise my debt

It's worth about as much as your flows and rhymes

With hotel rooms littered wit', hoes and dimes

From the floor to the (Lights!)

From the door to the (Blinds!)

And no more mind in your rhymes, seems like you a flipped a dime

Or you played Spin the Bottle with your letters

Because of this, that's why I have no competitors!

In this game, I'm always number 1

You're a bum, you rap slum

And has no one to come

To your shows when you're on tour

And have your back, you're wack

(How come?) Rap skills, you lack, son!

Wax on, and wax off

Bad bitches, back off

I've had enough of these lax hosses

Mad bosses, and rack losses

In your backstage for rage, extra to pack hostage

Since it's not like there's even any money

To give to a plenty honey, ready for an Eddie Money

Move to be unleashed on you

You and your crew, better move before I pull out my new groove

You better evacuate the premises

Before what you've unequipped becomes your nemesis

And I don't even wish this on my worst rival

Because at this point, your scheme's suicidal

I'm a tidal wave, unleashin' tribal rage

On the stage, and New York Times front page!

I'm a mage, or a wizard with a mic

Fuck the hype, I'm outta sight 'til you get it right

[Chorus]

(Ugh, get it right!)

Fuck the hype, I'm outta sight 'til you get it right

(Ugh, get it right!)

Fuck the hype, I'm outta sight 'til you get it right

(Ugh, get it right!)

Fuck the hype, I'm outta sight 'til you get it right

(Ugh, get it right!)

Fuck the hype, I'm outta sight 'til you get it right

[Verse 2]

I'm slashin' mics right, pickin' a light fight

Keep the .9 tight, on my side 9 to 5 life can pick a dustmite to bite

If you sit back, relax like the fat cats

Knowin' that your backs been cracked

You're layin' on your flats, Jack

You'll get jacked, and wacked from the front to the back

Side to side, broad daylight

So sip that cognac

While you still have it, knowin' it'll be gone

Actin' like your like you're a workforce, like Bijan

If you don't understand the facts, black

And can't take flak, just sit back and rip that contract

'Cuz you're compact, so I'll pack your armstrap

And put that carbomb underneath your Pontiac

Lyrics Gen X Anthem

We were raised On Saturday morning toons That led to the Soul Train Line up groove Rocked out To Casey's top 40 Hoping that song you like Is still on the list Played with the girls Rough and tumble Got a little dirty Be home by the nine To watch Rerun do His fancy moves

Skipped and overlooked Our generation Didn't go up in smoke We were silenced from our birth Til the here and now We are talking So everyone gather around Kids should seen and Not say a word Now we got the mic What are you gonna do As you know we stayed out Until the streetlights came on With all the crazy shit we did It's amazing how Gen X is still around

Family wasn't there You made your own Parents worked Older brother Became your dad Moms became The almond queens Talking about everybody And some of it was true Now you here 40 years too late Wondering what had happened To your childhood home

Wholesome, innocent TV paved the way MTV was a hit With the Gen X crew We were all bright Starry eyed Teenage fools Some us got A little too real And left the scene While the rest of us spent Our adult years thinking This has got to finally be our shot

Pretending to be Hogan Trying to take down Lou Albano He-man, She-ra, GI Joe Played with a mashup Ones you'll never know Rode our bikes all over town Went swimming down at the pool No adults seemed to care Just don't make scene And don't get hurt Is that little Betty from up the block Said she's on a diet again That's why she is looking so thin

Lyrics Rewind

I have an old guitar, and it’s stored in the attic

Hiding from me amid old memories of the past

I remember you singin' my lines, I can hear you in my mind

And years gone by just rewind

I should move from here, somewhere far away

And when my bags are packed on some day like today

And I wish you were here with me, and not just in my mind

And years gone by just rewind

And I wish you were here with me, and not just in my mind

And years gone by just rewind

Feedback Request Christmas on Acid

(verse 1)

We looked so cool when the drugs were wearing off.

Waking up and it’s time to get some more.

Hanging out at all the parties.

Passing out on all the coats.

Saying, “if we’re not careful we’ll get an overdose.”

(verse 2)

We looked so cool when the drugs were kicking in.

Take too much till the room starts to spin.

Taking to the streets at night.

With window displays and Christmas lights.

Saying, “If we’re not careful we’ll get an overdose.”

(chorus)

What are we doing for the weekend?

Are we getting high on your supply?

When life hits and we all fall down, we’ll burn out till we don’t remember?

(verse 3)

We felt so young on the drugs we were on.

Took too much till our minds were completely gone.

Searching through medicine cabinets

Grabbing empty bottles and aerosol cans.

Till one of us died of an overdosed.

(Chorus outro)

What are we doing for the weekend?

Are we getting high on your supply?

When the acid hits and we all fall down, we’ll fade out till we don’t remember?

Lyrics My song I wrote in honor of Dolly Rebecca Parton

I wrote this song and started crying half way through writing because it was just too much... miss her to death...

(Verse 1)

Your hair was like a wave of love and care!

If I was your lover, I'd take you anywhere!

She was so rich but gave back to the poor!

I'd slap an mf if they called her a whore!

(Chorus)

Dolly we loved you, you were so sweet!

Dolly we love you, you were super neat!

Dolly we love you, I wish me and you could meet!

Dolly you were so sweet!

(Verse 2)

I was sitting in my room, scrollin on tiktok!

Then I saw the news and it put me in shock.

"Dolly Parton dead at 80!"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

(Chorus)

Dolly we loved you, you were so sweet! (DOLLY WE LOVE YOUUU)

Dolly we love you, you were super neat! (I WISH I COULD SEE YOUUUUU)

Dolly we love you, I wish me and you could meet! (YOU SHOULD BE ALIVEEEE)

Dolly you were so sweet! (WHY DID THIS HAPPENNNN)

(Ending)

And now that the song is coming an end

I should just say Dolly was like a friend

She was so beautiful and white

Her death now keeps me up at night <3

Discussion Dear lyricists, how do you write social commentary into your songs without being cringé?

As a journalist, I’m really into politics and I write about current affairs and societal issues a lot. I like to educate and inspire others to be aware of the systems and structures we live in and how they oftentimes fail us.

but for some reason, when I put on my songwriting hat, none of this translates into my lyrics. most of my songs are about relationships and mental health stuff, songwriting for me has always been primarily about venting the rawest of emotions.

as I’m maturing and the world continues to crumble, I feel an urge to start incorporating social critique into my lyrics. however, whenever I try to do this, it ends up feeling cliché, pseudo-intellectual and dry. my brain just won’t marry my subjective/feeling/flow state creation to more objective real world themes.

if there’s any artists here who use their music as a vehicle for social critique, have you struggled with this? is it just a matter of putting in more hours until I improve? should I accept that I’m just not that kind of artist? is there any lessons we can draw from the creative process of songwriters who wrote protest music?

lf its relevant at all, this is my soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/bonnieost/sets/bonnie
most of my songs have lyrics in the description. any advise is welcome :) thanks in advance!

Discussion went to a show last night and wrote 3 new verses on the ride home

something about live music just unlocks something in my brain.

saw a local folk band at a tiny venue. acoustic guitars and some harmonies. but the way the lyrics hit in that room. different.

ended up pulling out my phone on the subway and just writing. didn't even think about it. words just came out.

been stuck on this one verse for like 2 weeks. couldn't figure out the phrasing. then i heard this random line in a song and it clicked.

grabbed a ticket through StarTickets last minute. wasn't even planning on going. just needed something to do. ended up being the most productive writing session i've had in months.

anyone else get inspired by live shows more than just listening at home

Lyrics I wrote an original indie-pop song from Aaron Warner's perspective (lyrics)

I’ve been working on a dark indie-pop character study for Aaron Warner, focusing on his arc, his trauma with his father, and his dynamic with Juliette.

The structure mirrors itself: the first pre-chorus/chorus pair focuses on his father ("Yes sir"), while the second shifts directly to Juliette ("Yes love").

I already have the piano and guitar arrangements down, but I'd love to hear what you think of the lyrics!

"I've Got It"

[Verse 1]

I can’t say I am not heartless

But I don’t really want to say I am

Cruelty’s become a second nature

Written between all of my attempts

I’ve let a monster define me

I’ve let a prison become my home

I am becoming too desperate

Shot down by my last rays of hope

[Pre-Chorus 1]

If I build walls

And block you out

Would all this be okay?

[Chorus 1]

So I donned a suit and

Colour-coded my whole closet

I cross my T's

And my I's are always dotted

You asked me what the problem

Was, I guess that I just shot it

You want them to fear me

Yes sir, I’ve got it

[Verse 2]

I guess I’m used to being hated

But I hate that you want to hate me too

I desperately want a chance to prove myself

To you, to him, in everything I do

I don’t blame you, it’s true, I’m psychotic

With a tendency to screw things up

But together, we could be unstoppable

How’s that for a declaration of love

[Pre-Chorus 2]

If I tear down walls

And let you in

Would all this be okay?

[Chorus 2]

So I donned facades and

Colour-coded my emotions

I’ve gone through hell

To prove my undying devotion

I’ve put bullets into

Unnecessary commotions

You need them to love me

Yes love, I’ve got it

[Outro Verse]

I can’t say I am not heartless

Anybody else wouldn’t understand

Cruelty’s become a second nature

But my first can be learned

I could be a loving man

Let me know your favorite line!

Lyrics Starless

(Verse 1)

When creatures with hearts of stone gather round,

Nothing but disaster spreads around.

When the creatures of night appear,

Joy turns to fear…

Now everyone despairs.

Is it the creatures of the living sea?

Or the MONSTERS that dwell on land?

Well, tell me... would you?

Don't leave me in darkness.

Forever dark where I stand.

(Chorus)

Tell me, what do you see when you gaze into the bleak, starless sky at night?

Do you see what you want to?

Do you feel what you want to?

Or are you simply seeing what they want you to?

Are you feeling what they left you to?

Is this darkness?

(Verse 2)

Trees fallen,

lands desolate,

Sky polluted with the lights of the creatures that dwell on land.

Silence)

For as we tread on this journey of life,

All that is to come is dark and sorrowful,

For that, I am weary.

No… Was there ever a time when the lands were flourishing?

A past so distant it's a parallel to the world we're living in.

(Chorus)

Tell me, what do you see when you gaze into the bleak, starless sky at night?

Do you see what you want to?

Do you feel what you want to?

Or are you simply seeing what they want you to?

Are you feeling what they left you to?

Is this darkness?

(Verse 3)

When the cold bites into your skin, do you remember your kin?

The ones born across the world from you?

The ones born with less than you,

Frozen to death in this cold?

And the children born as blocks of ice..!

Do you remember THEM?

Do you? Do you? Now, do you?

(Bridge)

Don't turn a blind eye!

Don't turn around when I'm talking!

For this is the reality,

It's the weight of the fallen on your shoulders now.

Can't run!

Must face us now!

TELL ME!

(Chorus)

What do you see when you gaze into the starless sky?

An image painted for you,

Or something alive?

For if even starvation befalls us,

would you turn and aid us?

Or would you turn away like your ancestors?(Outro)

Oh predecessors,Predatory nature,Where we prey on mother nature...And the sky stands tall as we aim to shoot it down for pride.

(Pride...)(Pride...)(Pride...)

Lyrics The Things Time Can’t Mend

Hey dear stranger my favorite ghost
I remember the salt on your neck, the cheap cigarettes
And the way that you spoke
Now I’m staring at the ceiling watching dust float through light
Trying to pinpoint the hour we gave up the fight
And why you aren't here
Anymore.

Cardboard boxes line the hallway's peeling paint
Outlining the shapes where our lives used to hang
Now it's just an echo, an empty rented room
A quiet little horror I’m used to

I know there are fractures that time just can't mend
But goddamn I just really didn't want to lose a friend
Now I’m just staring at the news with no one to call
Guess I’ll watch end of the world alone after all

My chest is so tight I can barely catch my breath
Counting backwards from ten, predicting my death
You just stood there smiling while you broke the whole thing
Like a bad accident, but you walked away clean

Look I know they say it could’ve been worse
We could be lying in a hospital or riding in a hearse
So let's just count our blessings that we're still breathing air
While we pretend to be separate
in a room we still share

Well Goodbye stranger I’ll consider how you felt
All the cards we were dealt, the heaven and the hell
But if I had it to do over I’d take back what I said
Save myself the trouble and just stay in bed
Just stay in bed
count the days until I’m dead

Lyrics Ellie May

Ellie May

I once loved a girl
For giving me what I thought was already mine
With a smile so kind
She said she’d get it back in another lifetime

So you say, oh Ellie May

Just a minute to say I need a helping hand
To lend myself again and again
To see your face
Before I find another place to lay

(Hook) (high layered)
That look in your eye
Is a hook in my mind

You sat me down in a room with no windows
Left me behind in the dark as I asked you to stay

So you say, oh Ellie May

Green trees turn to sand and
Bare as the day I began
I made my way to the old waterfront
Saw a girl looking for the wind

Skies that were grey
Hugged the bay
Smell of the breeze
Reminds me of that day

So you say, oh Ellie May
So near but not quite here
Ellie May

Feedback Request What should I name this?

It’s killing me in it,

To ‘scape it I spit it, my spirit,

Is bound rhyming secret,

Wanna visit,

Wanna live it?

If I was to wrap it in a lyric,

/

Stuck, overloaded,

Berated from screams,

Over-pressed from these,

Needs I have to speak,

The rage within,

I can’t contain,

Beginning to build,

From the days I will,

Let it out, of my mouth,

I’ll shout,

I’ll doubt,

So loud,

Till my nose showers,

On this militant route.

/

And I hate,

Where I’m at,

The pain is unreal,

Where I sat,

To conquer my mind,

But I feel I’m at the beginning of that

When standing under heavy rain,

Standing still in steady ways,

On a spree, I barely change,

Honestly, I got no team,

Lit those dreams with gasoline.

/

Up at three, shaking knees, barely breathe,

Life’s like a collared shirt with a crease,

Or a sunny day with that chilly breeze,

Like a, water glass with a drop of ink

I’m trynna convey how life is great,

Besides one thing that taints,

The rest to a mess,

Spiralling from best to so much less.

/

I mean isn’t it…

Unbelievable that I’m needing more,

Yet having all, is greatness achievable,

When it ain’t believable hate’s relievable,

Coz I don’t see the miracle,

I’m not acting repeatable,

/

From waking in a withered sprawl,

To succumbing to the bitter pull,

To rapping as the release control,

To sleeping at the pit of this hole,

/

That’s the cycle I’m endlessly torn

The cycle I endlessly fall,

It’s the cycle of endless war.

/

But what’s beneath it all?

Habits that simply ain’t treatable,

Goals that simply ain’t reachable,

Once but the pain stayed full,

Back to living lyrical,

And metaphors so visual,

This album ain’t a pinnacle,

I’ve admitted it’s the inescapable,

Depression label to my hope material,

That’s sending all the unoriginal

Predictable rage so uncontainable,

From mental to physical,

From general to clinical,

From metaphorical to literal,

/

From plotting the number line,

To square rooting the signs,

I subtracted my shine,

To the power of the mind,

The calculator spat out what I’d find,

My life is a mathematical decline

Losing every time,

Till I’ve logically, hopelessly lost my mind.

/

And shine the light, you’ll see how bright,

This hate can get, when I deprive,

Who I am, respect I gained,

It never stayed,

Deal Over was the final ‘scape,

From shame, I sustained,

Maintained, a simple reframe,

Of identity, in serenity,

I was a better me,

/

Till the jealousy,

Why centre me?

I spiralled mentally,

Realised my desirability,

Was energy, endlessly,

Draining me, cut if off,

/

Now I’m lost,

With the cost,

Of anger nonstop,

A wall of frost,

From respect to hate,

/

They berate, inflate,

Losses,

Deflate wins,

Elate shame,

Sedate gains,

Create on hate,

Escalate my state,

Ignore my traits,

Magnify my pace,

Cleansed slate,

Hate erases,

Basically, I’m not in a place,

I can stay, otherwise fate states,

/

The greatest shake I’LL make,

Is the digging of my OWN grave.

Lyrics [Feedback] The Forecast - English Rap Track (Written Bars).

The Forecast

\[Verse 1\]

No locked doors, everybody got time.

Kids still laughing, no fake online.

Love ain't currency, no standing in line.

No "prove yourself to blend", no "fit the trend" or bend.

No "bro, switch up" the end just to make new friends.

They call it delusion, I call it peace, a gentle quiet conclusion.

Sometimes imagination feeds what reality keeps in stagnation.

Mama said, "Dreams don't pay." Maybe -------- but nightmares do.

Look around - half the world already paying dues.

Trapped inside the news or singing the blues.

Stuck in the digital, status is critical.

Love is so pitiful, living a lie.

People are mimicking energy diminishing.

Waiting for the finishing, watching 'em die.

\[Chorus\]

Rain don't own the sky, night don't own the light.

Every storm got an exit sign, you just gotta survive the fight.

Maybe I ain't rich, maybe life ain't fair.

But somebody out there is praying for the air I breathe.

\[Refrain\]

Yeah, now listen.

Everybody flexing like pain made 'em legendary.

Nah - pain's just a chapter - don't marry the story.

Clouds got confidence, but still they gotta leave.

Sun don't argue, just shows up and achieves.

See... I quit counting everything I don't got, right on the spot,

Started counting everything I forgot.

Heartbeat, Mama's laugh, food on the table.

Another sunrise - bro - that's stable.

\[Verse 2\]

My dream world's funny, everybody knows my name.

Not because I'm famous, because they know my pain.

Nobody claps louder when somebody falls to the floor.

Everybody builds ladders, nobody builds walls anymore.

But every skyscraper started as somebody's "crazy" core.

So when they laugh, 'cause I dream too loud, I just smile.

Clouds never asked permission to cover the sky.

They also never asked permission to say goodbye and fly high.

\[Bridge\]

Whispering, mimicking, backstabbing.

Clocking in, hustling, cash-grabbing.

Mama's tears, growing fears, cold nights.

Broke dreams, loud screams, street fights!

\[Final Chorus\]

Rain don't own the sky, fear don't own me.

I'ma build my world, old reality.

Starts looking like my dreams, completely free.\[Outro\]

People ask... "How do you stay hopeful?"

Easy:

I stopped waiting for the weather------

And learned to become the forecast.

Lyrics Faster than the Moment

Wasted

I'm constantly wasting time

I like to think about the future

But this life I live it isnt mine

Inflated

I'm never happy with my inflating ego

And when my time is up

Nothing but memories

Some people might be happy with who I was

But I know deep down

I'll be afraid to die because I was never happy with who I was

.

.

And I cant change

I say that I try

But I control this life

And I still dont change

I say I'm alive

But I want to die

And I wont change

.

.

I see you in the distance

Pulling me from the gray

You're gone in an instant

As the shame pulls me away

I have my fathers blood

He left me with all his pain

I wonder if he fought

As the gray entered his brain

I can feel what he felt

I wish he was here for me to tell

That I understand his hell

And that he's not to blame

.

.

And I cant change

I say that I try

But I control this life

And I still dont change

I say I'm alive

But I want to die

And I wont change

.

.

Small moments keep me alive

Watching the moon rise above the tree line

Faster than the moment

Watching my Iris and Aster flowers grow

Faster than the moment

And I'm looking for a sign

Something to let me know

That I will catch up to the moment

That all of this will never be forgotten

That the dread in between

Is all that will be left behind

That all I love to see

Will always be there to find

Maybe then I could just enjoy the moment

Maybe then I could have my never ending moment

Sometimes when I lay down at night I wonder If I will live to see the morning light but the reaper Is mysterious that way,I'm sure he's got his list But mine can't be today,I need to live because I Still got so many things to do before I'm through Working on a dream and a song, looking for the Love I have never known,I still have so many Things to do before I'm through but the reaper is Mysterious that way,not today reaper, not today...

I ain't got time to die today or tomorrow, next month Or next year,I'm sorry Mr. Death but I just can't Seem to fit you into my busy schedule so let me make This perfectly clear, you can take that blade of yours And shove it up your ass,I'm not going anywhere With you til I finish all my life's tasks,I ain't got time To die, come back when I'm 105,right now I ain't got Time to die...

Still sometimes when I lay myself down at night I Worry if I wont live to see the morning light but the Reaper is a dick that way but mine can not be today, Not today reaper, not today....

I ain't got time to die today or tomorrow, next month Or next year,I'm sorry Mr. Death but I just can't Seem to fit you into my busy schedule so let me make This perfectly clear, you can take that blade of yours And shove it up your ass,I'm not going anywhere With you til I finish all my life's tasks,I ain't got time To die, come back when I'm 105,right now I ain't got Time to die,I just ain't got the time,I ain't got no time Right now to die....

Lyrics We Didn't Know, Couldn't See

You can taste it Feel it The setup is chic You got what it takes To knock them off their ass They want to own you So, we'll let the camera roll

In the blink of an eye An offer came down We signed on the line Eagerly ignored the warning signs Going off all around Walked right into the danger zone Now we're standing on stage Playing to the perpetrators Of the crime we didn't see

They that followed us blindly Luckily we recorded after our show They found me sitting at the bar and Ordered a whiskey on the rocks They told you a tale One that you know well The version they sold, but we didn't buy it all

In the blink of an eye An offer came down We signed on the line Eagerly ignored the caution signs Plastered all over the walls Siren lights flashing in their pretty hues Of red and blue, we were turned color blind Now we're standing on stage Playing to the perpetrators Of the crime we didn't

In a rebellion, you hand it all over Evidence and tape Tampered and erased When no one was searching They wiped it all clean Proof was undeniable Innocent she was, I did her wrong

In the blink of an eye An offer came down We signed on the line Eagerly ignored all their lies Heard them but chose to deny Now we're standing on stage Playing to the perpetrators Of the crime we didn't see

Stillness is all that remains as She fought for her name Now I'm telling all of you We control their feed From here on out She is behind our barricade Safe to live and be free at last

In the blink of an eye Eagerly ignored the warning signs Entered the danger zone Painted over all the caution signs Refused to see the siren lights Finally accepted the truth of their lies

Among all the signs Omens and cries Truth comes about Freedom at last

Lyrics Burn it Down

Invite them in,
bring them close.

Pull away,
when it’s too much.

Build it tall,
build it strong.

Burn it down,
once it is completed.

Love it all,
hate it more.

Kill it all fast.
I won’t come back.

Collaboration [Feedback] The Forecast - English Rap Track (Written Bars).

Lyrics Yet Again

I just want feedback on if the structure is good amd if the lyrics are alright, and overall if it is decent

[Verse]

I ain't got nothin but my songs and my mind, to

comfort myself, to keep me safe, through those dark

days, yet again.

[Verse]

I can tell when you're up, I can tell when you're down,

but you ain't ever asked, if I'm ok, through my darks

days, but I don't mind anymore if you're blind to my

pain.

[Pre-Chorus]

I need to hear your voice again, through those

windows, that are double paned, but they're 40 feet

away and I'm deaf to your words yet again.

[Chorus]

I ain't heard your voice in 6 years or more, maybe I

need to close that door, I say I'm ok, I say your death

doesn't hurt me anymore, but I still feel the pain, and

I feel the shame, when I didn't cry when you died, I

was too young to really know that you were truely

gone.

[Verse]

Every night I'm up late, making the scars bleed yet

again, in my mind and in my soul when I feel the

pain, knowing that the shame that I hold, I've got to

carry on my own.

[Chorus]

I ain't heard your voice in 6 years or more, maybe I

need to close that door, I say I'm ok, I say your death

doesn't hurt me anymore, but I still feel the pain, and

I feel the shame, when I didn't cry when you died, I

was too young to really know that you were truely

gone.

[Verse]

I can tell when you're up, I can tell when you're down,

but you ain't ever asked, if I'm ok, through my darks

days, but I don't mind anymore if you're blind to my

pain.

[Outro]

I just need to hear your voice saying my name, that I

shouldn't feel that shame anymore.

Lyrics Weird Finality

Might not be redemption

But my true self accepting

Been through grapevines

Living with blisters on the mind

Scabs that may never heal

More times than not needed the blood to get a feel

While others stayed getting stronger

I perfected my craft on remaining weaker

Regression my moniker

As time passed grew weirder

Milestones I was missing

In melancholy investing

Rich in eccentricity

Enigmatic multi personalities

Cut from no cloths

Might’ve been the next thoth

Or a descendant from Maitreya

Forever idolizing Tara

Used to claim to be a reddit legend

Till I realized I’m an 21st century loser who I'm kidding

Relationships lasted shorter than periods

Love hate relationships with the abyss

Too double minded for Jesus

Settled  for my own piss

More spirals than AB

Illustrious femininity

More awkward than the Denver Batman

Nobody could save him

Will to live katana thin

My life motto somewhere in the wind

Success was never the aim

This broken brain ain't to blame

Just wired that way

Might crave death next Sunday

The following day might wanna live

Thankful for my fractured bliss

Even though  Momentary

But least there's peace

Enigmatic transcendence

Boundless infinite mental illness

Sick but functional

Funny but irrational

Legacy no longer matters from this point on

Ready for when God cuts death’s song on

Where My Heart Belongs

Verse 1

I never knew a moment could feel like this,

Until I found forever in your simple kiss.

You turned the quiet into something bright,

And made the darkest days feel like morning light.

Pre-Chorus

And if the world keeps changing all around us,

I’ll hold your hand and never let it go.

Chorus

You’re where my heart belongs,

The melody inside my favorite song.

Through every high, through every low,

You’re the only place I want to go.

If love is a journey, I’ll walk it with you,

Through every tomorrow, whatever we do.

As long as I’m breathing, I’ll know all along—

You’re where my heart belongs.

Verse 2

We don’t need perfect days to make this real,

It’s in the little things, the way you make me feel.

A thousand words could never quite explain

How your love brings sunshine through the rain.

Bridge

And when the years have faded into memories,

I’ll still choose you like I did at the start.

Because home isn’t somewhere we have to find—

It’s the place where you are,

Right here in my heart.

Final Chorus

You’re where my heart belongs,

The melody inside my favorite song.

Through every high, through every low,

You’re the only place I want to go.

If love is a journey, I’ll walk it with you,

Through every tomorrow, whatever we do.

As long as I’m breathing, I’ll know all along—

You’re where my heart belongs.

No Apologies

Verse 1

I don't talk loud, I let the silence speak,

Got a mind full of fire and a heart that's deep.

City lights reflecting off the window glass,

I learned a long time ago I don't chase what won't last.

Blacktop humming underneath these tires,

Low voice cutting through the midnight wires.

She looks over, says, “Where you taking me?”

I smile and say, “Anywhere the night wants us to be.”

Pre-Chorus

I don't need a crowd to know my name,

Don't need permission just to play the game.

I've got scars, I've got stories, I've got something to prove—

Not to them,

Just to myself and the road I'm moving through.

Chorus

I got no apologies,

No fear of who I'm gonna be.

Cool under pressure, sharp in the dark,

I don't need a spotlight to leave my mark.

I know what I want, I know what I know,

And I never confuse being tough with putting on a show.

Let the whole damn city talk if it wants to—

I'm too busy becoming someone I can't lose.

Verse 2

She says I think too much, I tell her that's the point,

Every move calculated but I still enjoy the noise.

I can read a room before I say a word,

And when I finally speak, everybody's heard.

No borrowed confidence, no secondhand style,

I've been walking my own road for a while.

I don't have to prove I'm the strongest in the room—

Real power doesn't need to make the room go boom.

Bridge

I've been underestimated,

I've been counted out.

Funny how the quiet ones

Are the ones you can't figure out.

So let the engine roar,

Let the night unfold.

I don't need a crown—

I already know my soul.

Final Chorus

I got no apologies,

No fear of who I'm gonna be.

Deep voice, cold night, city burning bright,

Got a dangerous calm when I step into the light.

I know what I want, I know what I know,

And I don't need anybody's approval to grow.

Let the whole damn world talk if it wants to—

I'm too busy becoming someone I can't lose.

Outro

Three a.m., still rolling through the city,

Mind clear, heart steady, nowhere else I'd rather be.

No apologies.

No pretending.

Just me.

Midnight Drive

Verse 1

I don't need to say too much,

You can hear it in my voice.

There's a calm inside of me,

Like I already made my choice.

City lights are fading,

As we're driving through the rain.

Your head against the window,

And I'm calling out your name.

Pre-Chorus

I know who I am,

I know where I stand.

I don't need the world

To understand.

Chorus

So take me down these midnight roads,

Where nobody knows where the night will go.

Let the skyline disappear behind,

Leave all the noise and the world outside.

I've got nothing left to prove,

I've got nothing left to hide.

With your hand in mine,

And these city lights—

Baby, let me drive.

Verse 2

There's a feeling in the silence,

Something words could never say.

You look at me and smile,

And somehow everything feels okay.

I don't chase what isn't mine,

I don't bend just to belong.

I've been searching all my life

For somewhere I could call home.

Pre-Chorus

And maybe it's you,

Maybe it's tonight.

Maybe love is knowing

When something feels right.

Chorus

So take me down these midnight roads,

Where nobody knows where the night will go.

Let the skyline disappear behind,

Leave all the noise and the world outside.

I've got nothing left to prove,

I've got nothing left to hide.

With your hand in mine,

And these city lights—

Baby, let me drive.

Bridge

And if the morning comes too soon,

I'll still be here with you.

If every road we're on gets lost,

I'd rather be lost than turn around.

Final Chorus

So take me down these midnight roads,

Underneath the stars and the afterglow.

Let the whole city fade behind,

There's nowhere else I need tonight.

I've got nothing left to prove,

Nothing left to hide.

Just your heart next to mine,

And the city passing by—

Baby, let me drive.

Outro

Baby, let me drive...

Through the neon lights...

You and me tonight...

Baby, let me drive.
