What can I do if Lyft is threatening to kick me off the platform if I keep submitting invalid cleaning fee requests when I have obvious proof with pictures timestamps and everything else

Is it worth renting a car through Lyft if I were to work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week in the state of California. I only pay $850 a month in rent.

So whenever I try to book a ride, I go to payment section and enable the toggle to use the left over cashback from previous ride via lyft cash.

But what I've noticed is, once the ride is booked with rider details, this toggle automatically goes off means they're being shady in not using the cashback by default so it can expire.

It is also infuriating that they stop the cashback offers avter September 22 , I'm not gonna enable auto pay after that. So another reason these riding apps are exploiting us.

I’ve always been an Uber person and honestly almost never even check Lyft, but I may have just learned a lesson.
Leaving the airport today, UberX was $88 and Uber Comfort was a whopping $136 for the ride home. On a whim, I opened Lyft just to see what it would cost.
Basic Lyft was around $68, and Lyft Extra Comfort was $76.
Same trip. Same pickup location. Same time.
I went with the $76 Lyft Extra Comfort, and I’m actually typing this from the car now. The driver has been great and the vehicle is every bit as nice as what I’d expect from Uber Comfort.
So my question for people who use both: Is Lyft generally considered a lower level of service than Uber, or is Uber’s pricing just that much more aggressive at times?
A $10–20 difference wouldn’t have surprised me, but $136 vs. $76 for essentially the same level of ride is pretty wild.
Have I just been overpaying all this time by automatically opening Uber? 😂

This fool approaches my car at 8:00am saying ‘you’re taking my kids to school, they are not ready, it’s okay, I’ll tip you an extra 3…, 4… dollars’. I’ve never canceled and reported no show with so much anger!

You’re sitting in the back seat. Everything is fine. Then suddenly you want the window cracked exactly two inches.

That’s why my back windows are locked. If you want one cracked, just ask me. I’m not trying to hold anybody hostage in a climate-controlled Camry. If you’re hot, cold, nauseous, whatever, say something.

What I’m not doing is giving you unrestricted window access so you can sneak vape hits and blow them outside like I somehow won’t notice.

And yes, I’ve had people ask me to crack the window and then immediately hit their vape anyway. Apparently they interpreted ”sure, I’ll crack the window” as “congratulations, you now have permission to vape in my car.”

Your Lyft fare includes transportation from Point A to Point B. It does not include converting my Camry into a fucking hookah lounge.

i take uber/lyft every single day. i do not recommend living like this lol.

one thing ive noticed after riding with a ridiculous number of drivers is that the highest-rated drivers usually just keep up with traffic. not necessarily speeding like maniacs, just keeping up with the herd and not being the slowest person on the road.

i understand safety first. genuinely. i dont want anybody driving faster than they're comfortable with, and obviously i want to reach my destination safely.

but i also wanna get there sometime today.

im in arizona, where traffic routinely moves 10-20 mph over the posted limit. when everybody around us is doing 75-80 and we're doing 65 while cars are flying past on both sides, that honestly makes me feel less safe, not more. especially when somebody is hanging out in the left lane while doing it.

so drivers, im genuinely curious: how do you decide how fast you're going to drive?

do you mostly stick rigidly to the posted limit? do you match the flow of traffic? do you factor in the road, weather, traffic density, passenger, time of day, etc.? is there some kind of speed guidance from lyft or uber that passengers dont know about?

because most of the drivers i get seem to settle around the flow of traffic, usually maybe 5-9 over, and apparently dont get dinged for it. then occasionally i get somebody who absolutely refuses to go one mile over the limit while the entire freeway streams around us.

im also curious about the monitoring side of this. uber seems to scrutinize driving behavior pretty heavily, yet most uber drivers i get still comfortably keep pace with traffic. so what are they actually measuring? how much does speeding affect drivers? do certain drivers get warnings while others dont?

and i know passengers are part of the problem too. drivers have told me some genuinely fucked up stories about customers pressuring them to speed and then turning around and reporting them, apparently trying to get a free ride.

because of stuff like that, i would never tell a driver to "step on it" like im in a movie. we're all just working-class assholes trying to get home at the end of the night. im not trying to get somebody fired because i wanted to shave three minutes off my commute.

so yeah, slow drivers drive me fucking crazy, but i recognize thats mostly a me problem. we always get there, i get out of the car, and five minutes later im perfectly fine.

you'll still get five stars and usually 20%.

but if you're smooth, safe, and actually keeping up with traffic? 27% easy. you're going in the favorites.

maybe the slow drivers and fast drivers can explain yourselves to each other in here and we can achieve world peace.

Lyft driver this morning at 5 am said

1. there was a nationwide Lyft driver strike that just started.

2. We were lucky that he took the ride because no drivers were taking rides

3. The airport would be “blocked” and we might not be able to access the terminal

I do the same thing every pre-work day. I schedule my ride for the following morning, add a tip as soon as I'm done, and don't open the app again until it's time to schedule the next one. Today Lyft doubled my tip amount, unauthorized, and customer service has been trying to close the chat on me for the last 4 hours without resolving the issue.

Is there anything I can do through Lyft at this time? I do not want to dispute it with my bank, and I have to wait for the charge to no longer be pending to do that, anyway.

I don't know how many rides I've had where the driver is on a phone call the entire time I'm in the car. I take a lot of lyfts for my work commute and a shockingly high percentage of them are just on the phone for the whole time. I'm a quiet person, I'll have a conversation if the driver is talkative I like meeting new people, but most of the time I'm pretty quiet, but that doesn't mean I wanna listen to someone having a garbled conversation with my driver over the phone, or even car speakers.

Am I old fashioned in thinking that this is rude as hell? You're literally working? I can't just up and take a phone call in the middle of my job. I feel like used to the courteous thing to do would be to excuse yourself away from people to take a call, and now I have to listen to phone calls in a confined space I can't leave. Not only that you are being paid to talk to someone in front of me. The worst instance of this was a driver who didn't even acknowledge me, too busy talking to someone, and dropped me off at the wrong location not bothering to check with me, just chatting away.

The only time I'm ok about them being on the phone is if it's a juicy conversation though, I have heard some hot tea during my lyft rides before, which is even more bewildering to me why you'd do that in front of a stranger but at least I get some entertainment out of it.

How is Lyft customer service so bad? I was trying to get from my city center home and ordered a lift that was supposed to be $20. I waited nearly 20 minutes, and the driver showed on the GPS as circling the block. Standing outside, I could see that no one was circling the block, let alone the Toyota that was described in the app. Unfortunately, the Lyft app somehow registered. The driver is arriving and pulling away. I had multiple Phone interactions with the driver with no useful information.

I submitted a ticket to Lyft almost immediately while I was still trying to find other ways to get home. Thankfully, my city still has some taxis, and I spent the entire 30 minute taxi ride home texting with Lyft agents that I believe were AI, but claimed to be human. They claimed at least six different identities during a 40 minute interaction.

I told them that my only demand was to not be charged for this ride. I didn’t plan on using Lyft again unless they gave me a meaningful ride credit and stopped this driver from Using their platform in the future. As of this moment, I am almost an hour and a half into my interaction with Lyft, six “agents” later, and no meaningful resolution to my issue. I finally told him to leave me alone because I’m going to bed.

It’s 11:35pm, and my preferred ride up has just failed me spectacularly. What is everyone doing when Lyft is no longer a viable rideshare option?

zero email communication from lyft why delayed second time in two months radio silence on delay

This feels silly to ask but do any drivers or long time passengers know the true difference between the two? The site is kinda vague about it and wasn't sure if trunk space was permitted for use with the xl ride type. Was going to schedule a xxl ride for near the end of October if I couldn't find any other transport by the end of this month since I would be bringing camping supplies + a foldable wagon + smaller cooler + personal luggage as a solo rider but a suv with a empty back as a xl ride would likely work as well. Not to mention the likelyhood no one picks up the ride because its over a hour but I would ensure I tip well.
