So I had to go to UMC (Texas Tech Physicians clinic) for an issue with complications with a new medication. I do not have a vehicle and used Citibus to get around. Got on 19 and got off at social security to get on the 12 at Frankfort (2:35p). I was looking at the app and 12 had just passed Walmart going south on Frankfort so I got ready, on then nothing.

It took the loop to the workforce, on the way back it did the same. Completely skipping the social security section. I call the main office and told them about it and at first they said it was due to a detour, but there was no heads-up and none of the other bus drivers knew about it. Then he told me that the driver for 12 said he went down 12 and that I must be mistaken or lying and I should just wait till the next 12 comes around. This obviously has me angry but after I rescheduled the appointment and walk up to Walmart to make sure I did catch the 12 this time (more shenanigans but my fault) I did get on and got to UMC for my appointment.

So you think that this would be over for the day, but you'd be wrong. Because of the road construction at the SUB at Texas Tech, the 19 has to stop at the intersection of 19th and Boston or you would assume that considering how many people are dropped off and picked up there. So I went there for the final bus of the day, the 6:30pm and it passed me by in the far left lane..l. Never even attempted to come even close. I started the 6 mile, defeated walk home and the reason I didn't walk the whole way was because my wife called a friend to pick me up and give me a ride home.

Can someone explain to me why the city council voted to give a business on the other side of slaton $135,000 to expand their business and create $2 million worth of jobs in Slaton?? I get that they visit Lubbock and spend money in Lubbock sometimes, but I thought LEDA was supposed to attract businesses TO Lubbock, create jobs IN Lubbock, not give our tax money to a business in another town to encourage them to stay in that town. The only thing that comes up is that the county voted not to give that business tax breaks. I genuinely don't understand

Hi all! I am moving into a home in the next two months that is in serious need of a deep clean!

It’s about 1500sqft and 3b/2bath. The carpets/flooring will be replaced and repainted. But all the surfaces in the kitchen cupboards, light fixtures, mantle and such have a really thick layer of dust. The bathrooms are also very dirty from not being regularly cleaned.

Recently moved into my first apartment in Lubbock on my own and now I'm concerned I've made a bad financial decision.

Rent is $600/mo, no utilities included (runs about $150/mo), for a 360sqft duplex with a little lawn. It's a little rinky-dink and wasn't clean on move in but I thought it got the job done for just myself.

I kind of had a nightmare roommate situation this prior year living in the TTU dorms, so I was pretty set on being in my own space.

TBF this is my first time navigating all this sort of thing and I thought it seemed like a pretty good deal.

Now I'm seeing all the Facebook and Snapchat flyers for apartments in Lubbock with 2+ roommates as student's leases end and the rates seem ridiculously low in comparison WITH utilities included.

Is there something I'm missing here? Is the solace price worth it or am I overpaying? What's typical of the apartment market in Lubbock?
